Length: 186,850 words or 19 very loooooong chapters. Part one is finished with part two still yet to be released.
Update schedule: possibly abandoned, as it has not been updated since December 22 of last year (2021).
Does someone need to have read the main series to be able to understand what is going on in this fic? Yes, I even read the main series and was still very confused. Either that or have your phone handy to Google literally everything.
This is one of those stories I'm not sure if I was too dumb to understand or if it was just that confusing. It might be a slight spoiler, but I'm going to try to describe the "plot".
This story takes place in a dark alternate universe, post Deathly Hallows. Harry has defeated Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts. This is where things get weird and start to differ slightly from book canon. Harry breaks the Elder wand, like the movie Harry does, unlike the book Harry who simply places the wand on Dumbeldore's desk. The Deathly Hallows have a greater importance in this fic than the simple plot devices they were in the HP book series. Once Harry breaks the Elder wand in half, everyone's magic becomes unstable. The Wizarding World is thrown into choas because of this, no one can preform magic. For example, simple spells pretty much kill or severely maim the caster.
This is where I got confused, Harry also becomes "possessed" by Death and tries destroying the world. Hermione and friends try to fix it by destroying the other Hallows: the Resurection Stone and the Cloak of Invisibility. This only makes things worse. Hermione and friends realize defeating Harry/Death is impossible and decide to join him. Hermione and friends get turned into Harry/Deaths "hunters" and straight up go on a world domination, soul harvesting spree. Hermione decides she can't live like this anymore and then decides to literally magically "weave" the Cloak of Invisibility into her soul in order for her to go back in time. She thinks going back in time to destroy the Hallows before Harry gets a chance to get possesed by Death in the future will fix everything.
Hermione travels back to October of 1941 when Tom Riddle is still at Hogwarts, but it appears to be an alternate timeline. This Tom does not seem to be the same Tom from Harry's memories. This Tom is allies with Dumbledore in the fight against Grindewald or possibly something even worse.
And that's what I think happened. This whole story is literally insane and I've lost my mind over the last 3 weeks of reading it trying to figure it out. There is eventual Tomione, but it takes 150k words before they even kiss. Then it actually becomes a Volmione, because it turns out this Tom is a time traveler too. All the characters are out of character, but it makes sense because nothing from the original canon besides character names and places made it into the fic.
This fic could have gotten an extra star if F*ck wasn't used so much. I hate when authors do this, it just makes their characters sound unintelligent. It threw me out of the fic a few times since Tom and Hermione are supposed to be the smartest wizard and witch of their respective ages. Their continued use of it didn't make sense with their "super" intelligent characterizations.
My brain hurt by the end of reading this. If this is ever updated again I don't think I will continue reading it, it was just too convoluted and the characters were kind of meh.
i don't think i've ever read anything like this. i thought i had a good understanding of canon but reading this made me question that. i felt clueless the whole time which i suppose is the point but i hope my questions are answered in part 2 and i’m praying there is a loophole around the ending cuz i really enjoyed their banter and wanted to read more of it lol.
What the actual fuck 🤯 This fic has made me doubt everything. I have never used my brain this much while reading and still come up empty. I swear a few of my brain cells died along the way. Every other page I’m learning something new and shocking. The mystery, the suspense, the manipulation, everything!!!! I was constantly on edge.
It’s a big book with way too many words and such long chapters, but I was completely hooked and time just flew by (if you catch my reference 😏) This book genuinely made me feel dumb, confused, stressed, and obsessed all at once.
The ending. Never have I been shocked this much from a single book so many times. I wish this was not abandoned. I am so sad. I need Hermione to come back strong this time. This is absolutely one of my favorite! God tier.
“Fuck Neville and Harry and Tom—she would win.”
P.S. I am too much into Tomione universe. All my five star reads this year have been Tomione! I dont think I wanna be rescued I am too deep now😂
Lo obsesionada que estoy con esta historia no es sano, la he re leído como 4 veces porque siento que siempre encuentro algo nuevo. Lo bien estructurada que esta la trama y los personajes es otro nivel 1000/10
