Kilty Conscience (Book #2) — Amy Vansant (31 chapters) January 27, 2020
To quote me from the review of the first book: “…["Kilty As Charged"] was super fun….” So I’m excited to have downloaded the 3 book-set from Amazon Unlimited to read the next two books in the series. Did it live up to the last book? Or did it have the dreaded sophomore blues? Read on to find out!
This second book is exactly like the first one, in that I started reading it and before I knew it I was 1/3 of the way through the book! It reads fast; is funny to boot, and the character interactions are spot on.
The mystery doesn’t start until the end of chapter nine, but that was OK, and the only reason I stopped reading at chapter 10 was that I forgot to bring a charger and my iPad mini died.
I did have issues re-starting this series after a long wait from the first book, but it really didn’t take long to re-orient myself with the series and the goings-on. In this book, I find out what happened all those years ago when Cat first came into Sean’s world. And I learn something about Cat that shows a connection between her, Sean and Broch.
In this story, an actor’s son has been kidnapped and Broch dreams of the past which includes the actor’s girlfriend as a past lover. So stories going on at once, and except for one chapter that I breezed over (the dance scene did nothing for the plot,) it was an addictive read.
I am so happy I got to continue this series. I can read a book of this length in one day when it reads this fast! Bravo to Ms. Vansant once again!
Another FIVE star book!
