The Amish King sisters have come a long way, but life isn’t done throwing them obstacles in their path. While Rachel must find the man who will make her happy, Emma must overcome the daunting risks to her unborn child.

When Emma Yoder discovers she is pregnant with her first child, she feels like Gott has granted her every blessing she has ever wished for. Safe in the cocoon of her husband’s adoration and her family’s love, Emma is looking forward to motherhood. But a friend’s miscarriage and her own checkup at the Englischer hospital turn her dreams into a nightmare.
A temporary teaching position at the local Amish school has become a boon for Rachel King. She enjoys teaching and loves the children, especially Elijah Lapp, a motherless child whose neglectful Aunt can’t seem to fill the void. Walking out with a man she finds annoying, Rachel finds herself hoping for the attentions of Elijah’s father, but her past has a nasty way of catching up with her.
Will the two sisters overcome their hardships with the support of their families and the grace of Gott, or will their heartache engulf their peace of mind and happiness?

This is Rachel King and Emma Yoder's story.
“Are you busy?” her sister, Rachel, asked. Her kapp was missing and her dark hair was spilling out of its bun, framing her oval face.
“Nee,” Emma said. “Do you need help with the tea preparations?” Rachel nodded, her face breaking into a large smile.
Emma sighed, straightened her bedsheets, and followed Rachel out of her room and to the kitchen.
She pressed her lips into a white slash as soon as she saw the room.
One pull, and the entire sock lay unraveled at her feet. Emma King tried hard not to scream in frustration.
She breathed deeply and sent a prayer for patience up to Gott. Unable to concentrate on another stitch, Emma placed her knitting needles back in the basket and put on her kapp.
“Gertrude’s boppli will have no end of woolen boots and socks,” Emma muttered to herself, fretfully tucking loose strands of chestnut hair inside her kapp.
“I’ll embroider a bedspread instead.”

I enjoyed this Amish romance between Rachel and Arthur and highly recommend it. Rachel became a school teacher for the youngest children in their school. Elijah was one of her students and his mother had died and was being raised by his Dad, Arthur, and his Aunt. When Rachel noticed that Elijah didn't have lunch, she started bringing extra to share with him. Arthur noticed the special attention that Rachel was giving Elijah and he was drawn to her even though she was seeing Hans. Rachel was only going out with Hans because he was the only one who would overlook her transgressions during her teen years. When Arthur started paying attention to Rachel, she finally had the courage to break it off with Hans who had been mistreating her during their courtship. Her sister Emma was pregnant with her first child. When her best friend who was also pregnant had a miscarriage, Emma went to an Englisher Hospital to make sure her baby was OK. When she was given the results of a test, she had to bear the heartache of facing the uncertainty of having a healthy baby or a stillborn baby. Both Emma and Rachel were able to overcome their heartaches by supporting each other and believing that their faith in God would help them. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I really enjoyed this third story of the King family.. Although sad at times, there is a happiness that brings the story full circle. I hope to see more stories about this family in the future!
