Kilty #1-3

Kilty Pack One

Rate this book
A blend of suspense, romance and laughs with just a dash of time-traveling Highlander from author Amy Vansant.

KILTY AS CHARGED: When Catriona spots a plaid posterior passed out on the Hollywood movie lot where she works, she doesn't know her life as a fixer for Hollywood's spoiled elite is about to grow more complicated.

She wants to write-off the ridiculously sexy, kilt-wearing Brochan as a con artist, but her adoptive father seems strangely comfortable with a man claiming to have no memory of his past or knowledge of the modern world.

A red-bearded thug, an old picture and a three hundred year-old vendetta soon have Catriona worried she could lose everything - including her mysterious time traveling Scotsman.

A Highlander followed her home...Can she keep him?

KILTY CONSCIENCE: While investigating the kidnapping of an actor’s child, time-tossed Highlander Brochan suspects a woman at the scene is the raven-haired beauty who’s been haunting his dreams. Worried his reoccurring fantasies are memories of his previous life in ancient Scotland, he vows to discover if the mysterious Fiona is his true love.

Hollywood fixer, Catriona Phoenix is left confused by both her step-father’s dramatic recount of her appearance in his life and her time-traveling Highlander’s waning affections. She devotes herself to the case—only to discover her romantic rival might hold the key to her own mysterious past.

KILTY MIND: Time-tossed Highlander Brochan doesn't get a moment to recover from his latest wounds before he and Catriona discover one of Parasol Picture's biggest stars has been accused of murder. It will be hard for the actor to beat the charge...the body was found under his house.

When another studio asset is dosed with drugs that send him into a near-fatal frenzy, the fixers have to wonder if someone is out to destroy Parasol. It doesn't help that Catriona's nefarious sister, Fiona, has moved even closer to the studio and seems inextricably tied to Parasol's problems.

Brochan and Catriona could find solace in each other, but Brochan wants to get married before they hop into his kip and Cat thinks he needs to embrace the twenty-first century. Though on the upside, Broch says her hand in marriage is worth at least four cows...

* There is a partial cliff-hanger at the end of each book - each can stand alone and is also part of a larger story arc that continues through the series.

Kilty Pack One (Kilty #1-3) [Kindle Unlimited] — Amy Vansant July 19, 2019; January 27-28, 2020

Brief description here, full review under title.

Book 1: Kilty as Charged — Amy Vansant (30 chapters) July 19, 2019
A large man appears naked on a studio set and Cat, the fixer is sent to take care of the issue. When she arrives, she find the man, Broch has a thick Scottish accent and has no idea how he got there. Five stars.

Book 2: Kilty Conscience (Book #2) — Amy Vansant (31 chapters) January 27, 2020
Continues the story with Cat, Sean and Broch. Cat finds out that the three of them are related and Cat gets a family surprise that could change her life, while Broch goes on a mission to find his lover from the past….much to Cat’s chagrin. Five stars.

Book 3: Kilty Mind (Book #3) — Amy Vansant (30 chapters + Epilogue) January 27-28, 2020
There are hijinks going on the set, and they aren’t good. It seems Fiona is up to no good…and her misdeeds might be fin for her, but they are coming back to bite her. Meanwhile, another family member shows up and Cat’s life again is set to change. Five stars.

Overall a very good set. The fun factor with excellent characters does not drop off from one book to the next. Cat’s character keeps growing.

Unique plots, stories and characters, with a dash of romance and humor throughout make these books fast reads and enjoyable to boot.

Five star set!

Amazing trio of stories about time travel Romance

In the story Kilty as Charged Broch is found by Catrona seemingly drunk wearing only a kilt. She is taking him to the hospital when she is kidnapped. After Kilty saves her she takes them to her adopted father Sean. There there trouble really begins. Will they solve their problems?

In Kilty Conscience Broch dreams of Fiona a girl that he met in 1833. He meets another girl Fiona in this timeline but he didn't know if he loved her or not. Catriona is very jealous of Fiona and wants nothing to do with him. Will he ever get together with Catriona?

In Kilty Mind Catrona and Broch are trying to solve some murders of actors / actresses and the only common denominator is the studio. Is it Catriona's older sister Fiona or is she a victim too?

One thing I like about this book is the cheesy and hilarious jokes on Broch and he is amnesia. Catrona can't resist these comments that plays on the time travelers lack of familiarity why she's falling in love with him. As characters are quirky, sexy, and hilarious and they saw each case. The plot is different for each story and some having twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat figuring out how they done it.

I highly recommend this box set 4 time traveling fun. Definitely worth the money.

The line 'For the love of Diana Gabaldon' only a few paragraphs into this book caught my attention, not to mention a very handsome Scot discovered by Catriona Phoenix (a 'fixer' for Parasol Pictures, on whose LA lot this drunken (?) man is found lying) and the adventure is on! Brochan is not sure how he ended up here (in this century and place), and Catriona begins to get the feeling there's a lot more to his appearance, and that of her adopted father, Sean, than she currently knows. This was a box set of the first 3 stories - Kilty as Charged, Kilty Conscience, and Kilty Mind - by Amy Vansant which allowed me to read these novellas one after the other, given that each ends in a cliff hanger. A light romance mixed up with some time travel elements and excitement on the set of a Film Company.

I loved this bookset!

Amy VanSant struck gold with the series! Catriona finds an injured naked man on the studio lot where she is a"fixer" of problems. Turns out he is a sexy manly time traveler from Scotland complete with a Scottish brogue. And a cute sense of humor. Their story evolves over 3 books with new mysteries in each as their feelings become stronger for one another. The storylines are very well written and the characters are wonderful and very entertaining. Book 3 ends on a cliff hanger so I'm anxious for the next book to be published!
You will adore these books. 😊

A Highlander lands in Hollywood after time traveling, landing on a movie set where two other time travelers are working/.

Three stories that cover the time travelers attempt to figure out where he has ended up and what his personal history is., As well as who the other travelers are and how they are all connected. Murders, movie mayhem, and another traveler who is willing to murder them all just for fun make matters interesting.

Interesting Series

I really like the hero in this story, Brochan, or Kilty, as the heroine refers to him. He is a huge Scottish Highlander from the far past. But his personality is wonderful. He is almost like a big kid going to Disneyland for the first time. And match him with the heroine, Catriona, who is somewhat bossy, and his actual boss, and he is funny, patient, and willing to take a back seat unless her life is at risk. Great characters in this series.

I love the authors blend of mystery, humor and romance. Theirs just the right amount of romance, enough to be interesting but nit so much to overwhelm the story. The mysteries are different and intriguing and the humor binds it all together in a wonderful way. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Loved these books. It took me a while to read all 3. However. They are quick reads and I have 6 kids and 2 grandkids so reading is not always in my schedule. I love the way she incorporated all the stories, past and present. The characters are great. Love Broch and Catriona. Can’t wait for the next book!

Terrific trilogy

Love this author and this series of books. You probably shouldn't read them in public places if you care about people hearing you snort with laughter. Great interaction between the heroine and the highlander. Loved it!

Very good mix of Fantasy and reality. Fast pace, kept me guessing until the very end. I just don’t like cliffhangers.
