Now that i know who Robin was,and what she meant to Reuben, the next step was only natural.
I needed to find out what happened to Megan after Reuben let her go.
Because he couldn’t give her what she needed.
But he could give her to someone that might….if she was ready for it.
It took time, but when she reached that point,Reuben knew she needed it to be special.
Not simply handing her over to another Dom….
It’s a good thing her new Dom knew exactly how to give her what she needed.
He started a game. Where she wasn’t allowed to see him. Only feel.
Oh,and follow his orders. And be honest at all times.

At first, she was curious who her new Dom was.
She looked at the Doms at Reuben’s,while considering which one of those he might be.
But as time passed, and they’d played more, she started to settle in their game.
She knew Reuben trusted her mystery Dom,and that gave her the confidence to agree to the game.
But she grew to trust her mystery Dom as time progressed, and knew he’d reveal himself at the right time.
Only when he did,he still took her by surprise…..until she closed her eyes and felt him.

What a wonderful way of building trust this story was!
What a beautiful way to seduce Megan into wanting her new mystery Dom!
I loved it!

I want to play a game!!! This prequel novella was soooooo good!!!!! I was so invested in their story, I wanted to guess who Megan’s Sir was up until she chose to let it go… I just followed her along like a good girl!!! I loved their dynamic and I want more of them!!!! I will definitely buy How to Tame a Brat and I hope to get glimpses of them in that book because I’m just in love!!!

So many book claim they are BDSM but the disappointment in the lack of education and cheesiness in many is just a freaking waste of my time to read. But this story?! I loved. It’s realistic. Clearly the author lives in the BDSM community and/or took the time to research about what she wanted to write about.
I loved all the consent and communication. I love the way the author talked about kinks and desires and the characters thought process during her time and the club. This story is spicy but also super sweet and just super well written.
I can’t wait to read the other book that explore different kinks and D/S relationships. 🩶🖤🩶🖤

⤷ this is book 1 of 77 books i have downloaded for free on amazon kindle, so it may be time to finally go through them all. oh god, wish me luck.

this is a porn....with...plot? since the main theme is, once again, still bdsm and sex, i cannot give this book more than 2 stars. although, this one made it to 2.5 because it was actually somewhat of a fun read!

Ooh. I really enjoyed reading this short, sexy story. I absolutely loved finding out the person behind the game. Megan needed to move on and find someone for her and her lifestyle. I thought it’s was the perfect chemistry between the characters.

Grabbed this one as part of June's Stuff Your Kindle Day. Really enjoyed it. For a short read, I thought the characters were really well fleshed out, and the slow burn in it was very well done.

Ever since Reuben Weston let Megan go from her slavery to him, she’s been lost, just kinda going through life for the last five years. Becca a good friend and switch has taken over being that dominant figure in Megan’s life but can’t give her all of what Megan needs, so when Rueben Weston offers to set Megan up with someone new Megan jumps at the chance.
The only catch is? She has to wear a blindfold every time they meet up to keep the mystery alive.
Megan and her mystery guy continue like that for months, but will that be enough for the two of them? Will the blindfold come off at some point? And will Megan be happy with this new guy?

I read Let’s Play a Game before Sin and Stardust, and I can honestly say if I had stopped at Let’s Play a Game and not continued with the next book, I’d say that Reuben is not one of my favorite characters. We know that Reuben lets Megan go as he can no longer provide her what she needs, but Megan had made Reuben and Robin such an integral part of her life that being dropped out of nowhere left her completely lost. So definitely continue with Sin and Stardust to get a little more backstory with Rueben, Robin, and Megan and how it ended.
As it is a novella it is pretty short, I finished it in a day. And most of it seems pretty rushed. Murray could have definitely drawn Megan’s story out into a full book and made Sin and Stardust number two in the series. But it wasn’t so fast as to leave you wonder what happened in between scenes.
Since Megan wears a blindfold and she’s the main character we’re also left guessing who the mystery Dom is throughout the book. And Murray kept me guessing, I couldn’t tell who it was until it was revealed to Megan as well as the reader.

This was so good oh my god. I was a little hesitant going into but I actually really enjoyed it and am so happy I gave it a chance.

So basically, Megan hasn't had a dom in ages, ever since Reuben left her. I was a little bitter with Reuben, to begin with, but I ended up forgiving the man, now I need to read his book. But anyways, Reuben owns a sex club and when he's back in town he offers to set Megan up with someone. When the time comes they decide to play this game, Megan wears a blindfold and has no clue who the secret man is.

I was OBSESSED with the mystery of it all. I spent the whole time trying to find clues as to who it was and then when it was finally revealed I was flipping back trying to find the signs that I missed.

The number of sexy scenes we get, chef's kiss. I loved the BDSM aspects of the book and was honestly sad that this was just a novella, I wanted to see more scenes with these two after the secret was revealed. If you're looking for a book with a ton of plot, go ahead and skip this one. The plot is about Megan building trust with her new dom and a bunch of sexy scenes. I'm a fan.

The book takes place over a period of about a year and for the most part, takes place at the sex club. It is also dual POV which was fun.

If you're looking for a fun little novella with a sense of mystery and a bunch of sexy scenes, give this one a try.

First, one reader gave this two stars because a book that clearly states it has BDSM has... wait for it... BDSM. Rolls eyes.

Megan used to be slave to Reuben, who owns the club. He let her go (and reasons are not given in this book), but there do not appear to be hard feelings. But Megan has been unable to move on.

Reuben want to give her to another dom, but both of them realize that it will not last unless Megan is interested enough to open up and make it work. So the dom becomes a man of mystery, who never shows his face to Megan, while edging her relentlessly, tantalizing her, involving her in a 10-month game of submission and eroticism and mystery.

The book is absolutely a delight. The final reveal is great -- and I really had no idea what was going to happen.

Very erotic. A delight.

Megan and Noah! Wow what a surprise!

The fact that they were together in the playroom for a year and she had no idea who it was! The suspense was killing me! He kept her blindfolded so she never knew who he was until he was ready.

When he revealed himself she was shocked. He had been in her life everyday!

Oh I loved this!!! I loved the games and the dynamics throughout this novella. I related to Megan with having a hard time bouncing back from a dynamic that was great until it ended, so seeing the gradual shift in her outlook and perspective on things as she reconnected with her submissive side, that was just fantastic.

Perfect

I've never been interested in a soft Dom, plus I've always thought of them as 'less' but after reading this....
This is a really good read and a great depiction of the lifestyle. I loved her relationship with Reuben and am more than intrigued by the idea of not knowing your Doms identity, especially for so long. I'm hoping there's another book that continues their story

I loved this novella. The scenes and the tension were so well done. I loved the mystery of trying to figuring out who he was and the mystery pleasure of knowing at the end and getting it right was everything. On to the next from this author. True or Dare here I come!

Murray, Lindsay (2022). Let’s Play a Game (AnchorX).

I had this novella for a couple of months, but only read it now on the first day of my vacation. And I think I’ve found another author for the handful of (female) writers who create books within the genre of BDSM Romances I like and keep on reading.
It is a novella, but it is well settled inside the world of this club, named Reuben’s after its owner, and you follow and like the main characters of this story, especially Megan, her former Dom, Reuben Weston, and her new mystery Dom Mr. Weston had offered to introduce her to. Except for three chapters told by the mysterious Dom, we follow Megan’s POV, experience the feelings she had for the past five years she had no Dom, and the new hope she develops with this guy mentored by Mr. Weston. Each chapter is opened by a cocktail recipe that ask for being tried.
It’s lovely to read how Megan overcomes the initial struggle to find who this Dom is she’s “playing the game” with since she doesn’t know and can’t see him because she’s obliged to wear a blindfold during their scenes. And even though I tried to find out his identity, I had no idea until the accidental disclosure the same day “Sir” has planned but before he could set his plan in motion. Their growing relationship shows the growing trust and understanding and mutual give-and-take they develop over a long time, establishing the “connection” Megan is craving.
Leaves to say that the scenes between these two are intense and hot and lovely. Looking forward to reading Ashes of Sin and Stardust and The Goddess.

100 pages, contemporary Romance/bdsm/dom sub
1st person, double pov

Cool filler book, this book spans a whole year. For being such a short book, it made the pacing a little weird. the writing style was cool, not an overthinking monologue, it had a great flow, The first 5 minute intro scene is described and then we get a time jump of two months later, lol. Also it’s extreme edging? of four months at a time?!? You do get 1 detailed sex scene but a lot of the parts in that are rushed. Overall it was cute how everything works out in the end but I felt like the book should have had more detailed scenes for being a short filler book, I felt that it wasn’t really personality based, it seemed to focus more on the plot. I’m excited to read Ashes of Sin and Stardust now!

Let's Play a Game I have reread over and over again. The way you really feel like you are in the mind of the two main players I just find electrifying. Because you can imagine the feelings course through yourself. Learning to be okay with your story in life is probably one of the hardest lessons as an adult. Learning to be okay with yourself while giving yourself over or giving in to another is the most powerful version of loving yourself and loving someone else and the way this story walks us through that journey I find incredible and intoxicating. The spice builds perfectly with the intensity and really leaves you ready to turn the page.

I really liked this novella. In all honesty, I only bought it to test out Murray's writing style and so I could read Ashes of Sin and Stardust, but I ended up really liking this. I loved the snark, the somewhat realisticness, the characters, and the mindfuck of it. The GAME. It was very fun to read, though I'll admit I would have loved to see her (I suddenly can't remember her name) be the house servant sub for a weekend get together.

I'm looking forward to starting Ashes of Sin and Stardust!

I feel that this novella had some really great parts of the book but felt a little sluggish (even at 150 pages). Only realised it was a prequel as I added to Goodreads so made more sense then.

However, I felt that there was a lack of character information, I didn’t feel connected to the characters and although there were good xxx scenes, it still somehow felt lacking.

I would like to see how this fleshes out, and would be amazing as a longer piece I feel. Would have loved to see the scene at the end, so if it comes out I’d read it again

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. It was really interesting. The more I read the more invested I became. Megan is a bit lost and felt unwanted since Reuben left her, now that he’s back, he’s setting her up with a new Dom. This book is Megan and her mystery Don’s emerging relationship. She doesn’t know who he is and neither does the reader. I don’t know BDSM so I don’t know if what’s described is accurate or not but it’s an enjoyable read even if it’s not accurate.

Wow!!

Was not expected this novella to be so HOT!!! This book literally kept me guessing the whole time.

From the beginning I was sucked into Meghan’s world. I felt like I was watching her story. The chemistry between her and her “Sir” was insanely hot and the twist when his identity was revealed was SHOCKING!! This was a great BDSM book!! Loved it!! I will definitely be reading the second one!! 5 stars!!

This was my first read from this author, but it won’t be my last!

Meghan is a submissive in the kink world, and has been feeling a bit lost since her prior Dominant just left her out of the blue. He comes back into town five years later and hopes to make it up to her by setting her up with a mystery Dominant, who is looking for a D/s dynamic but also a deeper connection. Meghan and her new Dominant agree to his game, where she stays blindfolded and has no idea who he is while they play.

Watching these two fall for each other in such creative circumstances was honestly so beautiful to read. Somehow it worked so well even in its novella form; their chemistry was palpable. The mystery and game was just so much fun to read, not to mention the kink representative! I very infrequently read books that accurately portray or shed light on this lifestyle in a healthy way (often it’s a feature in dark romance, which is a personal favorite, but not as realistic).

I loved watching Meghan’s confidence grow with her new dynamic, and even seeing into how the Club worked. The writing was honestly phenomenal, like… one of the best I have read in this genre for both traditionally published and indie author alike. I can’t wait to read more of this indie author’s work, and I hope you do too!

I really enjoyed "let's play a game" and I liked the realism of it.

The spice was on point, and the story as a whole was well-written. I did like the characters, and I especially loved the Hero (I'm a dumbasss and I was about to spoil his name). But I feel like I am too much of a brat to actually get Meghan, which is why I am excited about Rueben's story.

Overall, If you are looking for something shortish to enjoy, I recommend this one. And I would definitely read more from the author.

Seductive and sexy. I can feel the heat coming off these pages. It was beautiful. I'm engrossed with the anchorx series and don't want it to end. Let's play a game is a very fitting title. BDSM and kink galore but it was worth it. You can almost see yourself in their little world like watching a movie.

I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. Let me tell you something, keeping the identity of the Dom a secret had me in such a chokehold. The spice was amazing and the secrecy of the identity was such a great concept. I'm such a sucker for a surprise. The ending had me grinning from ear to ear.

What an interesting and truly sensuous love story. I just loved the way this story unfolded. Megan was truly trusting and had no idea who he was. A very clever and sexy story and I just loved these two together.
