I am an Indie Author! So be on the lookout for that!! Cover Designer, and reader. I have been reading all types of books by many different authors for years and I just love the idea of love so I decided I should share what I dream and hope to have someday! I'm also a military brat, so I always have this itch to travel to a new place that's another one of my passions. I have a book club if you're interested in getting sneak peeks to my new books, as well as participate in deep book discussions, and my character introductions to new series! lookup
For the life of me, I could not remember these characters. I actually had to go back and re-read their story from Santa Sing Me a Christmas Carol to familiarize myself with them. Uriah and Nic's story was only two chapters so, they weren't memorable at all. Results of a Broken Heart was not very good. The writing was subpar, the incorrect word usage was rampant, and it bordered on boring. I really wanted to like it but, it just couldn't grab my attention like I wanted it to and the errors didn't help. Honestly, I almost DNF it several times. This will be my last book from this author.
Rye & Nic had such an unconventional way of coming together…what started out as a one night stand…will eventually turn into forever….once they get pass the bumps in the road.
Typically, in life, and in these books, our thoughts are first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes *insert your name here* with the baby carriage. Well, Iesha Bree stepped outside the box and threw that thang in reverse. (watch me back it up and dump it… back back it up and dump it...lol) In Results of a Broken Heart, Uriah and Nic walked to the beat of their own drum. Creating a life after a one-night stand and getting to know each other with the possibility of falling in love after, is unconventional as it gets. And although unconventional, Iesha pulled it together to weave a beautiful tale.
Uriah was woman left jilted at the altar. Her ex, Keem, left her hurt and with a stain on her heart. After months of depression, Uriah's sister Rachel, shows up to try and help get her out of the funk she was in. Making sure to travel at least an hour away and dubbing themselves with fake names, just so they could have some fun. Uriah has her mind set on having a one-night stand, and when her eyes land on Nic, she's sure she's found her target. "The tingly feeling in the pit of my stomach and the thumping between my thighs let me know this man was something dangerous." Things take a turn when Uriah ends up pregnant. With her not knowing anything more about Dominic than his name and how he looks, Uriah has embraced the thought of being a single mother. That is until the universe steps in and puts her new baby daddy right in her path.
Nic was a good guy, despite his childhood issues. With no father in his life to correctly show him how to be a man, Dominic was adamant about defeating the odds. When he loses a bet with a fellow firefighter, he has to dress up as Santa Claus for their fire station and listen to the all the kids' wish lists. Losing that bet was really beginning to be a drag until he laid eyes on Jaz, who is actually Uriah, with a very pregnant belly. Knowing what they did nine months ago, he has no doubt in his mind that the baby she's carrying is his. But when Uriah's ex shows up claiming her baby as his, he starts to question if he was right in doing so. "'Nah, y'all sitting around here acting like this dude is a part of y'all family and just fuck me all over a simple mistake. All of you know this is my baby, and she dragging this fool into it to cover up how she is feeling. So no, I don't think it's time for me to go!' Keem yelled."
This was my first read by this author and I was pleasantly pleased. I loved how the author was able to pull the two main characters together and still give them a happily ever after. Uriah worked on my nerves a few times, but not enough for me to hate her. Dominic was damn near perfect, definitely book bae material. If you're into oops babies, messy mommas, or imperfect love stories, I would highly recommend this book.
I had been anticipating reading Nic and Uriah's full story since I read the Christmas anthology. I knew from that short story it was going to be a lot more to their story. It was leaps and bounds of hurdles before they got to their happily ever after.
Nic was an action man and I admired that about him. Once he felt in his heart the baby Uriah was carrying was his, he was in go mode. He did everything from shoveling her driveway to assembling baby furniture. He wanted to make the end of her pregnancy and delivery as smooth as possible. It was going great until the ex reared his head. Keem was a sore loser. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to think Uriah was going to take him back after he embarrassed her on their wedding day in front of the town. It's not many people that forgive after you leave them standing at the altar and I'm glad Uriah was in the majority. Nic was the man for her and he proved it in the small amount of time he was in her life. He even had to dish out some 'act right' to Keem. It was the hard "NO" that Uriah had been informing Keem all along. I was glad that Uriah and Keem finally let go of the past, it was the healing and motivation Uriah needed to move on with her life.
This is one of those reads where you want both parties to fall and hard. You can read they are "it" for the other but the stars weren't quite aligned yet. Ms. Bree, I love the surprise in the hospital, great plot twist. I do wish it was more on Nic and his father's relationship. I could tell his father still had to get his life together. This is a good read, download and/or purchase you will enjoy it. If you haven't read Santa Sing Me a Christmas Carol: Holiday Anthology that is where this story stemmed from and I highly suggest reading it first.
I am so glad that Nic and Uriah got a full story. They could not deny the attraction they felt, although they knew very little about the other. Nic stepped right up when Uriah told him the news, and she couldn't believe her luck. How could this man that she barely knew, be so close to perfect? I just hated Keem and his weak excuses! Then had the audacity to hang around thinking he still had a place in Uriah's life! Ughhh...... I did hate that Uriah put herself in a few situations that could have been prevented, if she had just been upfront with Nic. Throughout their bit of drama, these two still took the time to get to know each other, and take care of the situations at hand. Sweet story! 👍👍👍
I really enjoyed this story and I loved Nic.😍😍 Even though everything happened so fast, it was the perfect pace for Rye and Nic. Forgiveness is not for the other person, it's for you. And it's important to forgive others in order to fully move on.
Uriah had her life planned out she didn't expect to be left at the altar. She certainly didn't expect her one night stand to turn into a pregnancy. If Uriah didn't take her niece and nephew to the fire station he wouldn't known. She was determine to raise the baby on her own.Nic took responsibility for Uriah and the baby even though Keem is claiming the baby, but he left her. Her mama was wrong for inviting Keem. Then Nic beat him down and walk out the house. Uriah daddy is crazy when he said he would have left the baby on the street. I guess when Uriah told Keem to meet her in the park it was significant. Nic seen his life flashed before his eyes and he didn't want to end up like his father. Uriah was tired of Kimora trying to shade her.
Uriah was getting over a heartbreak of the worse kind when she shared that beautiful night with Nic. Months later when Nic and Uriah see each other again, Nic gets the surprise of his life. When Uriah tells Nic he is the father, Nic does everything to be in his child life. Nic and Uriah get to know each, but their past shows up and causes issues, that had them fighting for each other. Uriah and Nic were beautiful to watch falling in love. They complimented each other and was each other needed and wanted. I loved every moment of this story and wanted more.!!! Do yourself a favor and read this book!!!
I'm so glad that Nic and Uriah got a complete story. I was a bit frustrated with all the back and forth, yet had to remember that their relationship was quick and based off a one night stand. What I loved most is that even though they each had separate personal issues, they didn't let that deter them from the strong feelings for one another. They made a nice couple and I love how they both went all in, into parenting. When you know, you know.
Uriah's ex, Keem, deserved all that came his way. Uriah was too nice in my opinion. She didn't owe him her time, yet I'm glad she told him about the miscarriage.
This was a quick and good story. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed Uriah and Nic's story. After Keem, Nic was exactly what Uriah needed. A man who was willing to step up, no questions asked. I loved how Nic even knew what Uriah needed without her verbalizing it. The scene while Uriah was unconscious had me in tears, it was so touching. I didn't like Keem at all!! Even after Uriah's confession to him. This is definitely a 5 star read.
You all, I wanted to shout and clap out loud. Mild drama makes a story palatable, and this one had just enough to tip the scales. Uriah was a sweetheart; I liked that she did not try to force Nic to be a part of her life. Nic had some issues that were explained closer to the end of the story. I liked the pace and flow of the story. I had time to take in each character. And the story was nicely told.
Iesha Bree brought out all of my emotions with this book. Iesha had me hooked from the very beginning to the ending. In this book, we get the love story of Uriah Cox and Dominic Knight. I love how she made both Uriah and Dominic vulnerable with each other. To see them both falling in love was a joy to see. This book I can and definitely will read again and again! I loved the flow of the story and the development as well.
This is my first book from this author and I must say it won't be my last! Rye and Nic were whay each other needed. They say the way to make God laugh is to make plans, and let's just say Rye had The Most High trippin lol. You could feel the connection between the two from the very beginning. Keem was wrong for waiting to the last minute to break things off with Rye. In the end it played out how it was supposed to because she found what/who she truly was made for! Great read, now I want to read more from Ms. Iesha Bree!!
This was a cute read. I enjoyed this book. Uriah and Nic truly made a nice couple and to think they wouldn’t have gotten a chance to experience happiness if their one night stand hadn’t occurred. This story on surprising past traumas and I liked that aspect of it even if it had the characters acting out of character and jumping to conclusions. This is my first read by this author, I’ll definitely be reading another soon.
This was a good love story. Uriah was sweet, bold, and hurt but she didn’t let it stop her from falling in love. Nic was just a sweetheart and good guy who didn’t let his pass stop him from love. The pace of this book was good and the way the storyline unfolded was perfect. I really enjoyed the journey of this two and it was such a good ride.
Enjoyed the story. Leaves me wondering if there will be a n additional story to follow. I appreciated how Nic did not give Rye a hard time and took her condition into consideration.
The promo for this book had me really feigning and it was worth the hype! Santa Baby prepped us but this book brought it home. What better way to get over heart break than to fall into a forever ❤️ Uriah and Nic were perfectly in sync!
This book was everything. I love the the bond between Rye and Nice it was like they was made for each other. The way came together was crazy but I definitely enjoyed the storyline.
I really loved this story so much , I wish it was longer, I hated for it to end. I really loved the two main Characters so much, I would love to have me a Nic in my life. Iesha Bree this is another great one, I feel your story get better every book you write, I can’t wait to read your next book 📖
No drama! Girl and boy meet, fall in love, happily ever after. This was sweet and realistic, fresh take on one nightstand, surprise baby. The chemistry was sweet, the transition to parents and lovers flawless . This was a good read!
I really enjoyed this story. Just when I see thought I knew what was going to happen, the opposite occurs. The storyline was fresh and original for me. I love that Uriah was able to heal and move on. ..
Let me start off by saying Nic was the truth. It was all in God’s plan that Uriah experienced that heart break at the alter because it set the wheels in motion for her true king to step into her life. Keem did her a favor even though he broke her heart and had the audacity to think he could say oops and come back as if he did nothing. There is nothing more crushing than to witness someone you love being happy with someone else and that was his karma for leaving her at the alter. Do yourself a favor and get this book. You will not be disappointed.
This was a really nice read I loved how Uriah and Dominic met during a time when she was experiencing a traumatic heartbreak and ended up having a one night stand that resulted in a baby. Dominic was definitely a real man because he stepped in and catered to Uriah with no questions asked. Keem was definitely an a$&hole and deserved that beat down that Dominic served him because he was clearly foul knowing what he has done and didn’t want to let Uriah move on and be happy. I was definitely glad to see that Uriah and Dominic got their happy ending I felt they were definitely made for each other.
A cute love story that is well written with a quick little flow. A few unexpected twist from a one night stand. The issues of their past was giving both a hard time. But life, love, and happiness created some growth.
I read this story after reading the story in the Christmas anthology and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cracked up when she talked to her daughter in heaven. That little girl was too cute. Great read!! Highly recommended!!
