Cora Bennett doesn’t believe for a minute that the woman promising to move her through time is anything but a quack, or possibly only trying to sell her something. But Cora has read enough time-travel romances to have some pretty great expectations about her own storyline, once the promise becomes reality. And when she meets the bold and breathtaking Lucas Thain, she’s even more excited. True, he’s moody and unapproachable, pretty frightening for his sometimes seething fury, but Cora’s not deterred. She’s not leaving the 14th century until she knows at least one kiss from him.
Lucas Thain doesn’t know what to make of the strange lass with the peculiar speech, and he’s beginning to regret coming to her rescue. He has only ever loved one woman—whom he has just rediscovered—but even he can’t help but have his head turned by Cora Bennett, the lass who infuriates him as much as she intrigues him. When her life is threatened, Lucas realizes he will move heaven and earth, hoping he’s not too late to save her or the love she once professed to him.
I love time travel plots, but Cora annoyed me a little in the beginning, but her “mouth-diarrhea” does become more an adoring trait, though i did skip some of it.
I love the way Lucas is so devoted and just in general how loyalty, love and devotion is portrayed in these kinds of stories.
And the perfect addition is the element of the girls that also got sent back in time, makes an appearance, I would really like if they made a little novella sequel for this book💖💖💖!
I love love so this was a good book. And I’m the biggest fan of Airril 💖💖🌟💖🌟💖🌟🌟💖🌟🌟⭐️✨
***SPOILER??**** If Airril died I would’ve given this book 1 star… love that man.
This has to be one of the best books I have ever read! It actually made me laugh out loud! The characters come alive and pull you into their story! The writing style in this book is crazy good!!! I would Have loved to seen an epilogue that went just a little bit further into their story. A visit to see Gabby, wedding, babies….possibly another book??!! Left me wanting more, in a good way!
This is the best of the series so far. I truly felt I was right there with Cora and Lucas and feeling all the emotions. This series seems to get better with every book. Rebecca’s writing makes reading so refreshing. After reading the “Outlander” series, time-travel romance hasn’t been done as well until now. The way these women travel through time is different enough to grab your interest and go for the ride. I am looking forward to the next one in this series.
This is one of Ms. Ruger's sillier stories, but great fun and adventure. For one character it's about learning to have faith in and acceptance of the person you love. For another character it's about finding purpose and the will to move on. And our extraordinary heroine Cora is at the heart of all of it.
Cora is tender-hearted, eccentric and audacious; as much a misfit in the 14th century as she was in the 21st. She's no stranger to rejection but tries her best to avoid it. She tries so hard not to disappoint, but her fear of failure in that endeavor makes her nervous, and she babbles... a lot! So, being a bit of a loner by default, but curious and impulsive, she strikes out on her own from time to time, seeking to quell her boredom. Some call it mischief but for her she's just going where life takes her. I know people exactly like her and I'm guessing you do too, so it makes sense that Cora would be willing to travel back in time to help someone in need of her help.
Cora's eventual love interest Lucas, laird of clan Thain, is truly baffled and sometimes annoyed by her, but fascinated just the same. They each have a painful history of rejection but react in different ways—she trying harder to please, he pushing his feelings away. Neither can explain their eventually attraction, yet there it is.
Ms. Ruger weaves Cora's quirky personality into every scene. The middle part of this story as I said is fun, and you never quite know where it's going to go. But my favorites are the action scenes in the beginning and that amazing ending. Once I hit 80% there was no putting this book down and I stayed up reading much too late, that's how compelling it was. Brava to the author for that vivid and riveting climax.
Time travel stories offer a lot of opportunity for uniqueness in the character interactions and the plot, and Ms. Ruger uses that to her full advantage. Each story in this series is distinct and interesting and they fully entertain. Read it from the beginning, including the prequel. You'll see what I mean.
Hi! Hi! Hi Escapist! Perdana nih aku review di goodreads, hope you like my review
Review dari aku : -Review mengandung spoiler✌️-
🚨Not safe for ramadhan 🚨
Overall🌟🌟🌟🌟4/5 Stars from Me! Aku pribadj sangat suka time travel romance books tapi di bungkus dengan epic dan punya plot yang ga membosankan, imho buku ini sangat worth to read!
Btw segitu dulu curhatan dari aku tentang buku ini, see you on my next review. Have a nice dream Escapist!
I truly love time travel & a good romance, so to get both + a historical time-travel romance is great, interesting & appealing to me! Though I could be more delighted if I were to get a book that the characters' names are more readable & not such tongue twisters as this one was! The characters were not as believable, (maybe less chemistry & more confusion within the characters, who's who kinda thing & why Cora was chosen, & why she ended up with another man etc...) so the characters were less believable than the first book in this series, & therefore, the beginning was not as interesting either but it did improved as time progress to the mid-section & throughout the rest of the book! Thank you
Another in a wonderful time travel series. This time there is interaction with the fae, Samara, but Cora faces rejection, fear, death and abandonment. Lucas is stubborn and unwilling to accept Cora's presence, even though he sees for himself that she is truthful. The story didn't have her meet the others in this series, although Lucas did meet Gabby. Perhaps there will be a meeting of all the girls in another story. Although the story had moments of sheer terror and heartache, it still managed to be sweet and delightful in places. I loved Lucas' sidekick and recognised his counterpart in Eternal Summer, although I felt much sympathy for him.
I love the easy, sweet story. This is the type of book that I needed while undergoing chemo therapy. The beautiful imaging and likable characters kept me there in the story rather than on the chemo drip lines. The only thing that I jolted on, brining me back to the future, was a modern grammar issue. It was the use of "these ones" and "those ones". That should have been caught in the editing. I've heard some of the younger students today use it and once a new teacher said it. The word "ones" needs to be omitted.
I always appreciate an accurate rendition of a medieval period story and Rebecca Ruger accomplishes that. She captures the cadence of the speech, the beauifulmyet demanding environment, the danger and politics of 14h century life and the everyday people, sights and sounds. The best part is how she ensnares the reader into falling in love with the talkative, brave, seemingly silly, kind hearted Cora and the Thain. Such an enjoyable story found on Kindle Unlimited where 5 star stories are hard to dind.
This book was a terrific read especially because the main character Cora was loveable, crazy, fun, delightful and oh so brave. Ms. Ruger is a new author to me and I’m looking forward to reading her 4th book in this series.
Her books remind me if the wonderful time travel books written by Jennae Vale especially her Thistle & Hive series and the Delight series. Always looking for more like these.
This was a near perfect read 🥰 Timetravel by fmc and her not being an expert on the given time period etc. She’s an accountant 😁 Mmc not being overly understanding of her situation Some big feelings written SO well 😢 Fun banter Action No big mystery but still a relevant background telling Bumps on their road to HEA No feeling of the ending being rushed and no ‘obligatory’ baby in the epilogue 😅 A little long wait for the steamy scenes though 😘
This book is absolutely the best! Don't think I have ever laughed so much reading a book. One of my favorite parts was when Lucas caught Cara ' braiding the hair of his most ferocious warrior'. I thought Lucas was a bit harsh throughout the book but realized towards the end that it was fear of showing his real feelings most of the time. I would share this book with anyone who likes a good laugh!
I enjoyed this book the lightness and the daringness and sass of the heroine in the story makes it so light. The hero a grumpy old, Man that hasn't really met the love of this life until he meets this woman. It's a time travel story But the author has filled it with fun and daring adventures. I really liked this book.
Of the 3 time travel stories she has written, this one was my favorite. I am a five foot 2 ditzy glitzy blond and it was so easy to relate to Coyra. What girl wouldn’t want a scarred stoic hard nosed highlander to bring up to speed. I know she assured this is the last in this series but I really hope it’s not.
This book is not my style, but if you are a fan of Scottish lairds in your romances you will probably enjoy it. There were too many battles in it for me and not quite enough elements that I enjoy in time-travel romances. However, the story is well written and it flowed in a way that made me stick with it to see what would happen next.
This series has been good but this is the best yet. I LOVE Cora. And Lucas is her perfect counterpoint. This was an enjoyable slow build that kept me riveted the entire time. I only wish Arrill had found someone at the end too although I understand why it was better the way it ended for him.
I gave this an extra star because there were some good moments in the book but overall the female lead written by Ruger was awful. It wasn’t at all romantic and no man in any time would find this woman endearing, attractive, or sexy. Of course I skimmed and skipped entire chapters but it’s never a good thing when your doing that and rewriting the book as you read. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Overall 2.5/5: 1.5-2/5 for the beginning, 3/5 later
I didn't enjoy this volume anywhere near as much as the previous two. The FMC was nigh TSTL and suffered serious verbal diarrhea. This was the intended character personality but nearly caused me to DNF this book. On top of that, there were a number of word anachronisms that really stood out kicking me out of the story often enough that it made for a frustrating read (word anachronisms were by the period characters and not after usage by FMC).
Crazy in Love: Far From Home: A Scottish Time Travel Romance, Book 3
The witch Samara sent Cora back in time to help someone. Cora thought it was Lucas and she saved him. But Airril was beside himself after his wife died. With Cora around he became a father figure and that saved him.
This book was absolutely fun to read!! You never knew what would happen next or what was gonna fall out of Cora's mouth. The relationship between characters is wonderful one minute I am laughing then I am pissed. I really loved reading this book.
This is the third in the series, so it was surprisingly good. In most series the first book.is good but the following are generally contrived. Actually the story is common where miscommunication leads to all.the complication but still.it is fun!
First read the book 1 in series and DNF This one kept me entertained & found it quite enjoyable. If you like lyn kurland its something to read while you wait (probably in vain) for her next time travel novel.
This series is very well written and the characters are enjoyable. I couldn’t put these books down once I started reading them. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series. Rebecca is a very good author. I’ll be reading others books from her.
The perfect characters, adventure, suspense, thrilling, romance. I simply loved the entire book. It’s very hard to find this type of time travel and one done as good as this one is.
I have been in a real Books slump lately, but I thoroughly enjoyed crazy in love. I’m not a big fan of time travel romance but this was done so well and I love the main character so much. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series
I think this was my favorite in this series so far! I loved her rambling mouth and the confusion, by words and actions, that was a part of her! As for him and his scars, well, just proof of a well fought life! Can't wait for the next book!
Great characters with an unusual time-travelling storyline. This is the first book I have read by this author but I will definitely check out the others in this series.
Loved this book!! The story was very well and it made me feel I was right there! It had mysteries, romance and of course time travel.love how the author described the castle ,clothing.food and how they talked! Great book
Just started this series and finished this book#3. Going to delve right into the next one. It has a little different twist to the time travel themes I have read. But like it!
