What will it take to crack the city girl's armor? This gruff mountain man is about to find out...
Dahlia O'Sullivan's trip to the small town of Aspire was never supposed to last this long. She should be back to her real life in New York City, not trapped on a ranch with the newfound sisters who call her 'the dragon' when they think she can't hear. Not that Dahlia cares what they think. She doesn't. The sooner she can convince them to sell this property, the sooner she can forget all about her half-sisters, and the ranch, and the irritatingly handsome ranch hand who refuses to be scared off by her bad mood.
JJ is the only person in all of Aspire who's not afraid of Dahlia, and that's annoying. It's also...kind of nice. He might not talk much, but sometimes it's what JJ doesn't say that hits her the hardest. Like the way he listens. And the way he smiles when she's acting a little nuts. Or the way he seems so certain that she's got a big heart buried beneath all those defensive layers. He's wrong, of course. Dahlia's not sweet and kind like her little sister. And she's certainly not cut out for romance or love.
But JJ disagrees. And when a blizzard hits and the mountain man is trapped alone in a cabin with the fiery city slicker, he means to make her see the truth. That she's so much more than she knows. And that she belongs right where she is—in Aspire. And in his arms.

This might be my favorite book in the series so far. I have to say I didn't really Dahlia in the previous book were we saw her as a side character, but now that we get her perspective I really liked her and understood why she acted the way she did. I thought the author did a great job with that, she's still the same person, but knowing her side of the story makes all the difference. And JJ was a great match for her. I really liked seeing these two open up to each other and build an awesome relationship together.
I started this book a bit hesitantly, but quickly I grew fond of Dahlia. I felt sad how she had to grow up fast to take care of her two siblings and impressed how she handled it all. I liked how beneath her put together armor she was such a fun character who could really let go and it was so fun to see her watch that first game with JJ and we see more of who she is and what she enjoys doing. I thought she felt very real and I liked seeing the different aspects of her personality. How she struggled opening up to her family and behaving differently than she was used to. Then there was how dedicated she was to her work and how she didn't really think she deserved happiness. She was such an interesting character and I liked reading about her.
Then there is JJ who is a great character too and he's just perfect for Dahlia. And Dahlia is good for him too. I really liked how, he was this quiet and understanding mountain men who was very patient. He's quite the opposite to Dahlia in a lot of ways, where she in impatient he's very patient, where she likes the city he likes the wold nature. But they have a lot in common too and I liked seeing Dahlia find the beauty in the snowy mountains as she visited it with JJ. I also liked how straightforward and honest these two were. There is no deception or guessing. They both are very straightforward and even when figuring out their romance they quickly go back to being frank with the other once they figure things out for themselves.
I really liked the romance between JJ and Dahlia. I liked how JJ really saw Dahlia even when her sisters didn't and even when she herself didn't always realize what she felt. I like how patient he was with her and also how dedicated. He was determined to see what was beneath her armor and show her that she deserves so much more. I really liked seeing JJ and Dahlia spend time together and have fun. At first it's mostly them spending time having fun together and then when they actually get snowed in and really open up to one another I could feel their romance deepen. There is a bit of figuring things out and I thought that was handled quite well. I liked how when JJ figures out what he wants he shows her. The later scene where Dahlia figures out a few things too was amazing and I really liked seeing how she handled things.
There is less about the other sisters in this book as in the previous ones, but even so there is plenty we see of the first 3 couples which I enjoyed. Emma and Nash are preparing for their wedding, while Rose's pregnancy is progressing and Lizzy and Kit make appearances too. I liked seeing how all the sisters are doing and seeing how they interact with Dahlia. I look forward to getting to know Daisy in the next book!
To summarize: This was a wonderful and sweet romance. I didn't really like Dahlia in the previous book where she was a side character, but getting her point of view made all the difference. It quickly becomes clear why she acts the way she does and I thought she was a very interesting character. I liked getting to know her more and see what she did for fun and how much she cared beneath all her though and capable armor. I grew to really like her and her romance with JJ was just perfect. They are such a good match for one another. I loved how JJ really sees her. He's this quiet and patient mountain men who loves the ranch and it was great seeing him interact with the impatient Dahlia who loves the city. And then seeing Dahlia see the beauty of this place as well was awesome. I liked seeing them have fun together and then open up to one another and the way they had to figure things out. I also appreciated how honest they are with one another. This is my favorite book in the series so far and I look forward to the next one.
Going to be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of Dahlia when she was in Rose’s story. She was really controlling but you could see she put Rose first.
The more you learn about her, the more you come to appreciate and love her. It’s such a great story, you’ll absolutely adore it like every O’Sullivan sister story!
Dahlia is so closed off from the world that she hides the fact she loves sports, beer, pool, and darts. She’s always thinking of everyone before herself, just like JJ. JJ is the mountain man, the guy that’s quiet but observant. It’s intense how protective JJ gets over Dahlia, understanding her in a way no one else could, defending her from everyone.
This story I didn’t know how it would pan out but I’m so glad I stuck around for the end! Now I can’t wait for another O’Sullivan sister story!! Two more sisters left before a decision can be made!
Sweet, surprising and so full of heart, Snowed In is the perfect way to start out the summer. As always, Sophia delivers a hilarious, spunky and so utterly entertaining read. Can't wait for the next one.
Dahlia meant for this to be a short visit. Check on her sister, put her vote in to sell the ranch, and get back to her job in NY. Instead, Mother Nature has trapped her on the ranch with her new half-sisters who call her the dragon behind her back. Not that she cares. She doesn't want to be in Aspire any more than they want her there. Only JJ sees the woman under the 'exterior' and she needs to get away before the handsome rancher sees more than she wants him to.
I'll be honest. I was not a Dahlia fan, and she's still not my favorite of the girls but I did grow to really like her. I always knew there was a good woman underneath the prickles but she made it too much work. It's one thing to be standoffish but she went out of her way to provoke. Defense mechanism, sure, still hard to take. However, when she loosened up, she was great. A dart-playing, hockey fan who fits in with the guys but is an emotional softie. The woman she was meant to be if she hadn't had to carry so much responsibility from an early age. And we owe this reveal to JJ. He saw something in her from the beginning. They say there's someone for everyone and this story proves it. JJ broke through Lia's walls by lowering his own. Their character growth and relationship development were beautiful. That he never gave up in the face of her fear was beautiful. This series is beautiful. I love these O'Sullivan sisters and the one I have been waiting for has just sped into town. I can't wait.
When her flight is cancelled Dahlia decides to put her extra time at the O'Sullivan ranch to good use and convince her sisters to sell the place. After finally booking her return trip to New Youk City, Dahlia realizes that the only person she might miss, besides her sister Rose, is the handsome and quiet ranch hand JJ. JJ has agreed to drive Dahlia to the airport, but he wants to check on his mountain cabin before an expected winter storm hits. Unfortunately, an unexpected break down traps Dahlia and JJ at the cabin, he doesn't mind though, he decides to use that time to convince Dahlia that the small town of Aspire is where she belongs with her sisters, and him.
Sweet contemporary romance with wonderfully well written, compelling, and I think, realistic characters. There really isn't any steam, but there is some kissing, and there is an emotional discussion on mental illness and the effect that it has on a family. An interesting twist kept me reading to the last, happily ever after, page of this fantastic book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I am really loving this series. The sisters are returning one by one and reuniting or rather meeting each other. All sharing a father only some they didn't know existed until his death. This is Dahlia's story, with many interactions with the other sisters and their partners. Dahlia grew up too fast, being the eldest of her young sisters she became their protector, their guide, almost their mother from such a young age. It's time to love, she finds it hard to let go. Terrified of losing again she has a hard shell that needs cracking. JJ is a fun loving guy, though he has past baggage himself. Trapped in his cabin due to a snowstorm can she thaw out and become the woman she should be? I hope you'll give this sister a go, she wasn't the popular one. I actually didn't like her but knew the author would bring her to life and change my mind. I think this story is now my fave so far. Great story and wonderful characters, can't wait for the next sister's book.
A true love story at its finest. Dahlia grew up having to be the mother figure for her younger sister, she is a protector and giver but does not show this on the outside. She comes off as standoffish and shutoff. She has to come to Aspire to visit her sister Rose and in the process meets her half sisters and JJ, a quiet ranch hand with a mischevious smile and quiet demeanour.
When he offers to drive her back to New York, things take a turn when they are stuck in a blizzard and they are forced to wait it out in JJ's cabin. This is just the setting with nowhere to run and hide that JJ may be able to break through Dahlia's tough shell. I adored JJ, this big silent mountain man knew exactly what he wanted and could see in Dahlia what no one else could. They were such an unlikely pairing from the outside, but ultimately a beautiful match for each other.
This was a great sweet romance to give a bit of a mind cleanser. I loved the way we got to see inside both of the characters heads and see how both of them grew into better people. I liked their romance and even liked the third act breakup that happens in most romance books. It was an adorable story with all the feels and off the chart chemistry. I’m excited for whatever comes next in this series.

Dahlia and JJ are perfect for each other. If only Dahlia could open her heart to love and trust, JJ would show her she is worth to be loved. A beautiful and compelling love story, love for your family, love for your friends and love for the one who will make you happy.
The curse of the oldest child is one that many women can identify with. Even in a happily functional family, the oldest child takes on more responsibility than the younger children, very often being an echo of their parents' voices, resulting in their younger siblings ganging up on them. Dahlia had to take on responsibility for her younger siblings at an abnormally young age, and consequently got nicknamed the dragon. Whilst she took care of them and ensured their absolute well-being Dahlia lost her own identity along the way. It takes a man like JJ to see through the mask and smoke screen to the women beneath. A visit to the ranch left to the O'Sullivan sister was supposed to be long enough to ensure that her younger sister was in good hands and to cast her own vote regarding the fate of the ranch. Montana weather had other plans for her as Dahlia's flights are canceled and with a snow storm coming in, she finds herself stranded with JJ in his cabin. It is there that the past is unraveled and JJ comes to the certain knowledge that Dahlia is the only woman he wants in his life. However, getting her to agree with him takes a lot more work and patience than he initially thought. Although part of a series, this novel does come to a good conclusion, obviously the other O'Sullivan sisters still need to be located and brought home. I received a copy of this clean, sweet, and witty romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Sometimes People Are More Than What They Seem. This is another excellent entry in the O'Sullivan Sisters Saga, and now we're at the halfway point in our overall world. I loved how both of our leads were fleshed out more than we had seen in previous books (as they had to be, since they had to carry this book), and I loved that they were shown to be much more than we originally were led to believe about them. If you've come this far with the sisters, you're going to want to read this tale. If you haven't been introduced to them yet, go back to book 1 and be glad you now have four books to read already. :) Very much recommended.
These series just keeps getting better. Dahlia, otherwise known as the'dragon', really grows on you when she lets her guard down and tells her story. JJ sees beyond the hard exterior and even though they seem an unlikely couple, it really works. Sweet read to curl up with. I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed JJ and Dahlia’s love story. It’s an opposites attract, grumpy heroine romance with a side of finally letting go of the past. Reading this series and getting to know the people in Aspire is sweet, heart warming and joyful. JJ works on the O’Sullivan Ranch in the small town of Aspire, Montana. Dahlia is one of the O’Sullivan sisters who recently inherited their father’s ranch but she lives in Manhattan. She has no interest in the ranch or Montana and has visited there several times because her biological sister, Rose has moved there. JJ and Dahlia have a connection but they both have a heavy set of past baggage that affects the way they interact with the world and each other. I loved JJ so much in this story but Dahlia was much harder for me to connect with for the first part of the book, other than a few glimpses, mostly in her interactions with JJ. I especially loved the way JJ gently, lovingly, and beautifully helped Dahlia come out of her self-imposed prison and begin to shine by just being his authentic, quiet and honest self. This book was full of all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, sighing, and teeth grinding - but experiencing Dahlia’s eventual growth, her letting go of her armor, and her revelations about herself gave me the biggest feels. I love that she discovered her worth and decided to accept love. While this is a standalone, there is an overarching storyline of the ranch and the inheritance, so I would recommend reading the books in order. I am excited about the rest of the series and reading the love stories of the other O’Sullivan sisters.
I really enjoyed this story! It was great getting to see the soft underbelly of Dhalia that she keeps hidden from everyone. I love that JJ was the one person that could really see behind the walls that she had erected and know that there was more to what was going on. Dhalia has to learn that not everything that is scary is bad and how to start taking down some of her walls in order to let the good in. This book really gives us a chance to see her change and grow as a person with her interactions with JJ. JJ does a great job and seeing beyond those walls and not reacting the ways she expects him too. He makes her think and delve deeper with his silences and acceptance. This was a fun read for me. It pulled me in from beginning to end and I really loved the transformation that we got to see in Dhalia and can't wait to see more of it in the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Dahlia and JJ's story is a great addition to the O'Sullivan Sisters series! What's the best way to "thaw out" the icy, city dwelling O'Sullivan sister Dalia? Have her get snowed in a tiny cabin with hunky mountain man JJ! While everyone sees Dalia as the mothering ice queen, ranch hand JJ sees the "real" Dalia...a loving, caring, sensitive woman! But is that enough to get her to move from the big city to the small town of Aspire? Great read to find out!
Loved this read. Usually, I can barely tolerate opinionated, sharp-tongued heroines and have been known to give up reading because of a few. Most seem reckless, heedless of those around them, and often leave a trail of hurt in their wake. While that was somewhat the case in this story, Quinn did an excellent job making Dahlia much more than that. Not just snarky and rude but complex - flawed, human, and surprisingly likeable when unguarded. Like many among us, the leading lady wore her prickly demeanor like armor to protect her hurts and her heart. Loved seeing her open up and let go. Great story. And I would really like to know where can I rustle up another mountain man like JJ. Adore him and his total acceptance of all things Dahlia!
This was the book I was waiting for! Ever since JJ was introduced in the first one, I knew I wanted to read his story. And I absolutely loved him.
What I loved😍: Everything JJ; how the sisters brought Dahlia into their mix; did I mention JJ?; Dahlia’s gradual growth
What stood out😱: that hockey scene in the bar - I’m a hockey lover and it just read as really awkward with interesting terminology
What I didn’t enjoy🤨: While JJ was easy to love, it was more difficult to even have empathy for Dahlia at some points - she was really unlikeable for me, more than just being misunderstood or the result of having to take on more burdens as a child
Dahlia and JJ have a wonderful story. JJ has a backstory of a broken marriage among a few other family problems. Dahlia had to grow up early when her dad left her mom. She had many issues with her parents and the situation she felt was her responsibility. She puts on a good front around everyone. What happens when the dragon lady is snowed in with the mountain man? I truly did not want to like her character at first but finally came around to liking her.
I have loved every book in this series and can’t wait to read the next one. This was such a good read. Love can conquer all and heal a lot of hurt. I loved watching Dahlia overcome her fears and except her worth. I could hardly make myself put it down to get my work done. Loved this book.
This story is about a young woman who had grown up looking after her younger sisters and then meeting a giant of a man who she would fall in love with. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
This was another great sister finding love story. The O'Sullivan sisters are slowly coming to the ranch left to them by their absent father. This is about Dalhia and her finding true love. Just enjoy.
City girl meets mountain man and they learn how to love themselves and others again. Such a cute read and a silent cowboy type made him eat him up. I have been enjoying each book in this series.
I love how being family and different personalities are getting put together. These sisters try to get to know each other and figure out how to make this inheritance of the ranch work for each.
