Every time i am reading a book by Richard Clark, it makes me a great impression the way he is describing everything has to do with Greece. For him, Greece is a second country and the love he feels for the country, especially for the island if Crete, is obvious. He not only knows the customes and the food and drinks, he knows the feelings and the mentality of the people as well. This time the story is so sentimental as well. Amy, an Englishwoman decides to live her life in the island of Crete, she is an independent artist and she lives in a village of Elounda. When her mother is dying, she returns back in UK and there she finds her younger sister, who feels miserable for many reasons: not only she lost her mother but she is also taking a divorce after many years of marriage Amy is taking her younger sister in Greece, with her. And a new life is beginning. The story is so tender and very well written. I am very proud of my friend, Richard.
This has set me up for my walking holiday in Crete ,the book embraced the beauty of Greece and the lightness it gives the soul, now I can't wait to go for my escape.
I have read all of Richard Clark’s book so I’m never disappointed. He is a wonderful story teller together with the ability to transport you to Crete. Well done!
