The intergalactic barbarian has started establishing himself in this new future.
But with a growing reputation comes the need to accomplish more complex feats.
The Komran are happy to oblige, though they may not know it.
They have taken a valuable Vale-sanctioned mine, trapping all the residents within and forcing them to work night and day. Curiously, the hostage-takers are not searching for the ore within.
Fearful that a large scale assault could end in nothing more than a pyrrhic victory, Joe and his new teammates are sent in to deal with the situation in the hopes that they can take care of the menace without a massive casualty report.
Can Joe and his team find out what exactly the Komran are looking for on this backwater planet?

Non-Peace Negotiations By Michael Anderle The small team had to deal with the same enemy species only at another planet. Another excellent exciting adventure with lots of thrills, team bonding, learning about this weapon every one wants, and love the internal AI implanted into the team. Lots of fun and humor mixed with the military action!
Loving the evolution of the relationship between buddy and Joe. Very much fun seeing how the council can't seem to get a clue yet most everybody else is starting to figure out Joe will be Joe.
Joe, Aran and Cammy are sent to a planet occupied by Vale settlers and their Military support. where the Komran have secretly infiltrated their main mine, in what looks like a search and grab, for the special ore mined there.
But, just before the small team arrive, the leader of the Komran take all the Civilians hostage, to force the miners to dig harder, longer, and ever deeper.
It's only when one of the miners, Vic, remembers that there was something strange that was buried deep down,, far beyond their present levels, and well beyond where the miners were encouraged to go, that they realised that the Komran were after whatever was beyond that point.
Just as the team turn up, things start to become even stranger, and this starts a whole different series of events that will both help the team in their rescue attempt, but will also change things entirely, in Cammy's life.
I really enjoyed this book, and am loving how the three main characters" lives are changed by the events that happened in that mine
I'm also loving how General Yardstrom is learning just how much of Joe Ugly s 'old time' attitude is a real necessity to his success in the missions she keeps sending him on. Between her, and Sergeant Major Johnson, Joe's life, so far free from the obligotary conditioning that all Vale citizen's are fitted with, in utero, seems safe!
I really want to go on to Book Three: 'Monster Royale' right now, but I actually have another book calling to me first - the very latest from Sarah Noffkes' Book Six of, The Undoubtable Rose Beaufont series, "the Feared Witch Hunter'!
So, as it's really silly O'Clock in the morning, once again, I'll be setting my ebook up to be read then, after some sleep, I'll be starting on this next, and I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think about it!
After this, I'll be going straight back to the Joe Ugly series! Lol
In a time and place where woke is out of control I mean no booze or cigars! WTFO!! Any way a man and woman are brought out of the past. There is fast-paced action and adventure that keeps the story moving. But the looming question is what do the overlords of the woke council do With our heroes then. But in the mean time they are needed to battle the Kromen, and revolting robots. On to book 3!
Having been a fan of Anderles other books, this seemed a logical next series, bit of a mistake The operative words are "Created By" and as such I do not believe they are written by They just aren't up to the usual standard The whole book seems to struggle to move along, the narrative is laboured and the characters dull. Even Joe should be a more defined character after 2 books and the others seem bland
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, series. Looking forward to the next book cooking it in June. The characters are some, will developed. Book 2 proved even better than book 1. Loves the idea of a marine who is put into cyber sleep to be awaken hundreds of years later it on space after earth is abandoned by humans.
Joe is slowly putting a team together whether he knows it or not. The addition of Cammy starts off a little rough but even a noncombative addition can be effective. I am totally enjoying Joe and his effect on friends and enemies.
If you like a lot of action, this series is for you. The character developments are coming along just fine. Glad Cammy is becoming more than just a whiney archeologist. Go Marine! OORAH!
The series is just good clean action fun. Just read and go along with the flow, it skims over the big issues but some days that’s all you want from a book.
