Prince Theo Kane has always known duty comes first. As crown prince of Valdoria, his priorities have been country and family above all. And that's always been easy for him--until duty and the queen demand that he find a wife. However, he already tried proposing to the one woman he really wants, but she left him behind.
Alex Turner, aka Princess Alexandra Torre, fought her way to the top of the world's most prestigious photography course. As long as no one figures out who she really is, her dream of being a photographer on Jacques Ledoux's renowned crew is within her grasp. Nothing is going to hold her back, including her pesky feelings for a certain swoon-worthy royal.
When Theo's and Alex's paths collide, old feelings are reignited...but those feelings have burned them. Fool him once, shame on her. Fool him twice?
The first book in the sweet and wholesome Princes of Valdoria series.
I just love books that revolve around royalty? Why is that, I wonder? Princes and cowboys. Ha. Yup, sign me up.
Seriously though, there is just something about reading stories about princes and princesses, kings and queens that I just love. This book is the beginning of a new series about the royal family of Valdoria and I cannot tell you how excited I am about this! Prince Theo has a few brothers and I can tell by this story that it's going to be a fun ride with them.
Alex is a princess in hiding. She wants to accomplish something completely on her own merits and not because of her princess status. I love her obsession with photography- a subject that always interests me.
I adored Theo. The title of this book fits him perfectly- Noble. He was a great character and I was drawn to him. The chemistry between Theo and Alex has a steady growth through the whole book. I loved that build up of tension. And the ending. I loved that too.
If you haven't read any books by Julia Keanini, now's the time! This book is a great start to a fun new series. It's just $.99 and it's on KU if you have that. I can't wait for the next book!

MY TAKE There was something so captivating about this story. I wasn't sure about it at the very beginning, but once we got into Theo's head, I was sold. I usually only have time to sit down to read a book just before bed and I often fall asleep before I can get very far. I read way later than I should have because I wanted to know what happened next.
I loved Alex and didn't find her unsympathetic which I do sometimes in romances. And Theo was totally worthy of being the romance hero. Tender yet strong. *fans self* And totally into Alex.
I immediately picked up the next book in the series and started reading it.
Cute, predictable, and therefore sometimes really annoying. Nothing new but a HEA after decent relationship development. It was wrapped up a bit too neatly and quickly, but it’s written for a teenage audience.
This book is a harder one to review for me. I absolutely loved the premise of the book and the way it began and started. Our two main characters, Alex and Theo, have great chemistry and depth, and I really enjoyed the romantic tension between them. I loved Alex’s drive to be the best based on her own merit, and Theo has such a drive to be and do the best for his family and country.
That being said, there was much I felt was rushed or left unsolved/untold in the story. One of the main reasons Alex turned Theo down in the past was explained but never solved or even addressed later on. There are also other characters that have a past relationship with Alex (not a good one), who become a larger part of this story and yet we are never privy to exactly what that past is. The ending felt way too rushed and quick- much was left unresolved. It just felt like the author didn’t complete the story and left parts out- which would have made this a much better book.
The story, characters were amazing. Amazing maybe a stronger word than needed but it was very good. What I didn't like and its a strong dislike; enough to drop the story a star and half, was how the story was written. Third Person! The story was told a lot by the characters interacting but it was also a lot in third person, Where the author was telling us everything. It was the balance between the two that kept me reading.
Clean, wholesome, and sweet… but also a little boring.
Alex was the more interesting of the pair. She knew what she wanted and she went after it with every means at her disposal, even if those means meant masking her identity as a princess. She loved what she did, even if her reasons for starting it were a bit pat, and she was loyal to her dream. She was a bit dull personality-wise, being so hyper-focused on photography and, later, her newfound crush on Theo; it would’ve been nice to see her personality fleshed out more.
Theo made Alex look vivacious and fascinating. He was wishy-washy and staid, with no real personality beyond his desire to please his mother and his professed love for Alex. The revelation of his close-held secret was mediocre–it was apparent early-on that it would be something of that ilk, if not that specific activity, so the reveal was underwhelming–and his on-again, off-again relationship with Elise was irritating.
The relationship between Alex and Theo never really seemed to develop. Theo seemed as though he’d always been in love with Alex, though it was never really shown why, so it lacked immediacy and believability. Alex, on the other hand, ogled Theo half-naked a few times and developed a crush that seemed to stay as such until the end when suddenly they were together. It was not well paced.
The secondary cast ranged between meh and downright irritating. Elise was properly villainous in the end, but I never understood why Queen Marla hated Alexandra so much–it was mentioned a few times that she did, but it was never explained, so it seemed like gratuitous dislike for the sake of drama and angst. The other princes were mildly interesting (which makes sense, given it’s a series of their romances), but much of the rest of the cast was spiteful or forgettable.
The story as such was barely there; it was a string of encounters with Alex and Theo with a few events dropped in periodically to advance things or set up the future books. The events didn’t flow well, though, and were even more glaring against the laid-back tone of everything else. I'm still confused at why Alexandra flipped out when Theo went to her parents for permission to court her, too. Why would she assume that his parents had done it? If she knew that was her country's tradition, why would she react so negatively anyway?
I’d wanted something sweet and fluffy, but this just didn’t hit the spot. It didn’t need more adult situations, but a better flow and fixing of the plot holes would’ve helped.
When Alex Turner (AKA Princess Alexandra Torres) won the coveted internship with world-famous photographer Jacques Ledoux, she had no idea that her next photo assignment would take her to Valdoria to shadow Prince Theo for a month of candid shots. Now if only she can survive the month without blowing her cover or falling in love with the man she once rejected, she might get the success and acclaim she craves.
Theo, crown prince of Valdoria, has never quite gotten over the girl who turned him down. But with Alexandra Torres not an option, he needs to find a woman to be the perfectly poised queen of Valdoria. None of his brothers like Elise too much (she's so boring!), but his mother is determined to make the match work. When an intern photographer invades his privacy, he sees right through her dyed hair and glasses, but if he pretends to be clueless about her identity, he may avoid falling for Alexandra once again.
I tend to shy away from contemporary romances, but the fictional royalty setup in this book intrigued me. Theo is a stand-up guy--always the gentleman, the dutiful son, and a little bit over-the-top with how selfless he is (secretly taking care of drug addicts' babies in his spare time?). Alex has always wanted to prove herself on her own merits--and can't do it with her royal reputation getting in the way. Her anonymity is the key to winning a high-profile photography job, but that anonymity may get in the way of warning Theo about a plot which will damage both his reputation and his kingdom.
This book was a quick read and a fun romance, perfect for when you're in the mood for some fluff.
I'm finding that I really like this author. This is the 3rd or 4th book I've read of hers. I really liked that Alex is Channing's sister from another book, so we got more of a look into Channing's story. I liked that it had a little mystery and suspense, romance, and it was clean. I really like Theo's character and I especially like Daniel's subtle/wry humor. The only reason I didn't give this one a 5 rating is because the first two pages of the book were really confusing. I couldn't tell who was speaking or what was going on. I did catch on quickly, however. This was a fun read I didn't want to put down. It's appropriate for any age. I would probably read this one again.
Stories about princes and princesses are the original romances, and they continue to be popular in the sweet romance genre. The Noble Heir is the opening book to a series about a royal family in the fictional country of Valdoria. Prince Theo is Crown Prince, and his family is host to several photographers in preparation for a major event. The photographer assigned to him is a woman he’s known for years, and she’s princess of a neighboring country. But she’s in disguise, using a different name. Why? And how is he going to fight his attraction to her? I enjoy reading books in series, especially when the stories are well written, so I’m looking forward to the next prince’s story.
Julia Keanini is a new-to-me author and I’m so glad that I purchased this book. I loved the royalty theme and all that is required of the royals. Alex was an independent, feisty princess and refused to be side-tracked from her dream job of being a photographer. She denies the love hook-up of Prince Theo, but ends up working in his castle as his personal photographer. They develop a slow burn love for each other, but several complications occur, and their love gets slightly side-tracked. Eventually all truths are revealed and a beautiful HEA occurs. I really enjoyed this book and hope to read more books by this author.
I honestly loved this read. It is billed as a clean read and it is, which I was honestly worried about. I didn't quite know what that meant. I don't do any sort of the Christian romances and was worried this was that, it's not. It's a great story wth a happy ending. I liked Alex and Theo and I appreciated the depth I found in each of them. It is a sweet story and a great distraction from our crazy world. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5? There are some word choices that don't fit, like 'dang.' It's jarring when they pop in. Thankfully,it only happened a few times. I am headed off to start the next one in the series! Enjoy!!
I love that Alex is trying to make a name for herself on her own merits. I love Theo. He immediately knows who Alex is, but he doesn't let her know that he knows. He is to be king and needs a proper queen by his side. He wanted it to be Alex, but she turned him down. He still has feelings for her. Can he love someone else or will his heart always belong to her? I loved Julia Keanini's Second Chance Fairytale Series. If you haven't read it, you will want to.
Alexandra Torre of Litiana and Prince Theo wanted to date her, but turned him down . Later Alex went to America to school and changed her name, dyed her hair, and added black glasses. Her study was photography. Jacque was her teacher and Jacque had a contest for photographers to join him in photos of the family of Theo. Only 10 photographers would be chosen. Alexander was one those chosen and was assigned to photo and follow Prince Theo. A lot happens in the story. Theo is to marry Elise. Read the Nobel Heir.
Another cute and clean book from Keanini! I loved the character development of Alex and Theo, they were both wonderful and clear in their thoughts and ambitions. There was a bit more describing of the physical attributes of the prince’s chest than I care for, but it wasn’t horrible. I loved that they really got to know each other. So many times in novels, they just fall in love, with no effort or backstory to get there. I thought their story was well developed and thus more believable. Overall, great young adult love story!
This is a sweet and clean romcom. Alex is in disguise pursing her dream of photography. Only to be reunited with her past when Prince Theo arrives to announce where the interns will be working for a month. At his castle with him and his family. More of her past begins to creep back into Alex's life with a less positive experience than Prince Theo. Too bad neither Alex or Prince Theo can be honest with one another. One question that is never really answered, why did the Queen hate Princess Alexandra? Was it really just the rejection of the courtship? Still curious.
Alex is a Princess who left her country to pursue her photography dream. Theo is a Prince in line to the throne, who attempted to court Alex years ago. She basically turned him down and went in her way. Theo never forgot her and now she is placed in his orbit again. She doesn’t know he recognized her. Her photo assignment places her in close contact with him daily. This a sweet, cute romance. Although it doesn’t have any scenes with physical intimacy, it is a good read. I am interested in reading about the other Princes and their loves.
This story about Alexandria, a princess, goes under cover to pursuit her passion of photography, and Theo, a prince, in line to become king, falling in love with her. Alex and with a few top students of her class, where asked to photograph the royal family. Alex goes in under cover and really gets to know Theo. She find her self falling in love with him. Alex is put in a spot that she has to choose her career and passion, or safe the man she love, by exposing her true self. Love the story.
The Noble Heir - Alex is pursuing her dream under a false identity. She's actually a princess. Theo is a Crown Prince and she's the one he chose to make his queen. But she turned him down without explanation. Now, with a disguised look and foreign accent, she's responsible for taking photographs of him for a month. There's a connection between them whether either will admit it or not. Can she keep her heart intact and her identity safe?
Oh my gosh.... I'm not gonna lie it took me 2 chapters to get interested i. The storyline and I was hooked from then on. I loved the witty banter, laughs and love that came into play between Alex and Theo! You could read between the pages that they were meant to be. Can't wait for the next book!
Alex is trying to keep her real name a secret so she knows if she could get into photographing by herself and not because of her name Prince Theo Kane has tried once to get Alex to marry him when they was younger and he has tried to get her out of his mind but when he find the one and only Alex he was trying to get over is back in his life what will he do
These princes really are charming. I truly enjoyed this story. It was what a true romance should be, clean and with just the right amount of smart and sassy from both the men and women to keep you wanting more. Couldn't put it down and can't wait to pick up the next one!
I liked the beginning, but felt like the ending was rushed. It wasn't as satisfying as it could have been. What did the letter say? This next part isn't a spoiler, because you find it out in the very first part of the book.... But why didn't he confess that he knew who she was all along?
But I enjoyed the story and the characters.

This was a delightful book with fun characters and a good story. No dull moments in this book. The writing and editing were great. I love men who are not afraid to let women shine.
As very enjoyable story about a princess who became involved with photography to honor her dead sister. Her success as student of a famous photographer lead her to an old love.
