It's a different type of love story set in the pre-independence era. Such stories give a fair idea of people's lifestyle and thought processes during that time period.
Since I had seen the movie, I knew the story more or less. Still it was fun to read it in a book format. What makes me more curious is the second half. How did Jigar meet Ami again? The movie doesn't have much about it. Need to read the second part to know more.
