I didn’t ask to be part of a prophecy and I certainly didn’t ask to be held captive by zealots. They may call me a savior, but they treat me like a sacrifice they’re waiting to make to the gods. Not much of a sacrifice given what they think of me.
My only saving grace is that I don’t have to face the dangers alone. This time I have an ally in the form of a knight from Britannia City—London Hayes. Unfortunately, nobody knows where we are or what the group intends to do with us, which means we’re on our own.
Meanwhile, there are larger forces at work that threaten to tilt our vampire-ruled world on its axis and it’s up to us to stop them—if we can escape our captors in time.
Glass King is the third and final book in the Midnight Empire: The Restoration trilogy, but be sure not to miss other books in the Midnight Empire saga.

The finally book in the series. It’s another fast paced action packed adventure. I enjoyed wrapping things up. See Britt change from assassin who dosen’t care to a witch that helps and wants to do better by saving her friends and those she loves.
This is an exceptional and entertaining urban fantasy series. A spectacular cast of characters and a unique and entertaining storyline. Often the distant future around the world, every super volcano on earth irrupt’s. If that was not bad enough, the volcano spewed so much ash into the air that it blocked out the sun. it also released monsters and supernatural creatures and horrors onto the world. Well, the normal Monday and world lived here before hand we did not know that among us they were werewolves, which is Indian vampires. The witches and werewolves lived among us, and every lives in the vampires lived in the dark places in the world. Once the sun was blocked out, the vampires came out of the dark to rule the world. Now, many years later, after the great eruption, there are many prophecies being revealed and pursued. This particular trilogy in the series it is Britt and the vampires of America, who are the main characters. In the previous trilogy in a series it was London, a witch, who was a night Abarca in the city of Virginia formally known as London in the witches of that area. Coming up will be the next group of books in the series with another main character, and at some point probably a crossover of the different heroes. This is an exceptionally entertaining and in-depth urban fantasy with characters. You will fall in love with, and a few you will hate. Read on and follow the adventure. Who knows maybe one day you’ll get your own pet named George.
Britt and London find themselves together as two thirds of a prophesied trio of witches who will bring back the sun- and at the mercies of a group who want to sacrifice them. Working together, they have to try and stop the doomsday cult, before they pay the price!
This is not a standalone, you need to have read the Midnight Empire: The Tower Series first, then the two previous books in this one before you read this book. It builds upon the books that came before, and continues on from the cliffhanger in the previous book. This book completes Britt’s arc, but not the story, so while it’s not quite a cliffhanger, it is an ending which leaves you with a few loose ends. Fortunately the third series in the Midnight Empire is already out.
This one was very fast pace, and chock full of action- leaving very little room for romance (because our hero just didn’t feature much into Britt’s adventures this time). There was a lot happening though, and it made for an exciting read- a good choice for the urban fantasy fan who had read the rest of this series!
Well these books seem to be getting better the farther into the series you get. In this book, Britt is not acting like such a damsel in distress and kicking butt on her own or at least with a friend. I like the fact that one of the characters in this book is also from a different series. Now that Britt has been captured she hast to try to figure out how to get herself out of trouble especially since she doesn’t have access to her magic. She makes some interesting friends in this book. I did like the end of this book there’s a lot of action and some interesting things were talked about happening with the vampires.
So far this has been an interesting series with a different perspective than the normal vampire tales. The world faced an outright disaster when several volcanoes erupted simultaneously and threw Ash into the sky covering the earth and blotting out the sun giving the Vampires the ability to become the rulers and control everything. Some hate their rule and are trying to bring back the sun unfortunately for her Britt the blood witch is caught in the middle of a prophecy which requires her and two others to die horribly which she isn't going to allow to happen. A thoroughly entertaining read.
Wanting to use her as part of a Prophesy to bring back the sun, Britt and London Hayes have been kidnapped by Olis, the Trinity Group and Britt’s old Lancaster coven. After escaping, they head out on a journey to find the Blade of Fire and stop a war between vampires and witches.
It would have been better for London to keep the object where it was, portal home and then destroy it. Farther away from the Trinity group. But them it’s not her story arc, it’s Britt’s.
Fave scenes: hiding in the barn, the caldera tests, the sleeping vampire and Sasha’s help.
Excellent book and wonderful conclusion to this specific trilogy, with another one on the horizon set in the same world. I really loved this story and especially the ending. Ms. Chase does not disappoint.
The world building is so good I'm there when I'm I'm reading. The characters are so good and I loved the crossover with the first trilogy in the series. I look forward to more of these types of stories and crossover action.
I just discovered Annabel Chase a few months ago but have eaten up so many of her novels. I managed to read this one in a day. Although there were a few predictable parts and a few corny moments, the story following Britt was exciting and enjoyable. It was also a light and easy read.
This trilogy was fantastic and adds to the world building greatly I love this magical world Annabel Chase is creating, the characters are fantastic, the plots are full of thrilling adventure and just enough romance for me. I also love a great kick-ass leading lady.
Maybe it was the act of reading this and knowing I'd be writing a review, but there were a lot of things about this book that actually started to annoy me. Mostly the plot armor. I'll publish a full review on my website and add a link here. TL;DR it's an entertaining enough read if you don't think about it too hard.
I really liked that Britt learned that she could from assassin to San honorable person who helps people who are need before herself. She has realized that she has turned over a new leaf and does not want to go back to her old ways. A good moral story in in caring and doing for others.
Britt makes true friends and helps a ton of people. I'm not too happy with the romance since there seems to be very little validation for their feelings. I wish they had been together through more of the 2nd and 3rd books. I prefer when h and H tackle obstacles together. Good read though.
Things are getting good now, the final installment of Brit’s trilogy, really starts putting the pieces on the board and letting you have a glimpse of what is coming. Love the way this author always has unexpected twists and turns added to the story, just when you think, you have figured out.
Off to read the next trilogy and see whether the Prophecy comes to pass or it is averted.
A great journey that adds one more piece to the puzzle that is the prophecy that will destroy the reign of the vampires. I loved Britt's growth and how she learned that alone doesn't mean freer. That in friendship and love may lie her most invincible strength. Now to continue with the next trilogy to see if the prophecy can really be fulfilled.
Adventures, twists, friends and enemies discovered, all combined to keep the pages turning. Love the crossover of characters from previous stories and the roles they play to help Britt.
Ms Chase has done it again. Exciting scenes, new friends (looking at you London!), new crazy characters (Captain Presley for one) and of course a HEA makes this a very worthwhile read.
This is such a good story! The plot is very well written and the story itself is really entertaining. This author has an incredible imagination. You won’t be sorry to buy this book.
Love to see old characters and their interactions with the American characters. The new characters complement the story, while our protagonists and friends sail through the final chapters.
This brings Britt and Alaric to a nice conclusion. I felt the rebellion battle was rushed and how they defeated the magic a bit too vague. I missed Britt and Alaric bring together but am glad they have their HEA.
Great ending to a great series. Britt along with London have to escape the crazy Lancaster group. They are going to need away to stop the prophecy if they want any kind of normal life with their vampire king.
Wonderful, creativity, surprises, danger, suspense, excitement, love of fellow man as well as love with your soul mate. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys reading suspenseful exciting mysteries with a lot of magic.
A continuation series with hope and love ! Anticipation rather than dread resonate in every chapter despite horrifying history and potential! This is a saga of another world than the one we know, and intent and honor matter!
Good adventure tale set in post apocalypse world where vampires rule. During the quest to find a magical item to change their fate, Britt and London bond Thwarting the Trinity group and their allies.
Bringing many things to a satisfying conclusion The Glass King is about relief for the characters. And also high hopes and plans for a future all species involved. I will take a break to arrive at a time when things are less busy. Thank you Annabel!
Barreling along at quite a clip. This book zigzaggs across territories and climes, leaving all new voices behind. It means unexpected help in odd places, just there to move the plot along.
I've decided there isn't a single book this author writes I don't fall in love with. Charactes that get you incredibly involved, snark, love, honor. Just great!
