Who needs a husband?

Corporate attorney Shanti Kapoor is not falling into the arranged marriage trap her family has set. Too bad her skillful dodge is thwarted by her younger sister, who accidentally sets Shanti back in the sights of her law school nemesis and fiercest competitor, Rakesh Singh. She and Rakesh have a history she’d rather forget, but now she owes him a favor that Rake’s definitely collecting on. Worse, playing the part of Rakesh’s bride at Charlotte’s Festival of India dredges up emotions Shanti thought she’d forever buried.

Rakesh has goals far beyond the DA’s office in Charlotte and a strategy for every move he makes. He only hesitated once to chase something he desired—Shanti Kapoor. Not this time. Rakesh knows he’s got one shot, so when fate plays into his hands, he shamelessly seizes advantage.

Shanti and Rake are at the top of their game. Their chemistry is explosive and someone’s going to get hurt. But all’s fair in love and war—and with these two, it’s always been both.

Swipe Right for Marriage is not, in my opinion, Sinclair Jayne’s finest effort, though it is still an entertaining story. I struggled with a lot of the Indian food, traditions and clothing and found myself constantly jumping out of the story to find out what different things were. I’d never heard of a Lehenga, for example. I found Shanti’s sister Rani annoying and as for the cousins that popped up early in the story well they came across as teenyboppers rather than med students in their mid-twenties. Finally, this story seemed to be heavily populated with lengthy, convoluted sentences that I had to read over a few times to get any meaning, which definitely slowed the pace for me and took away from my enjoyment. All this said, I will still be looking out for the next book in the series because Shanti’s older sister and Dhruv, her firefighter love interest intrigue me.

A heartfelt moment in time. Swipe Right for Marriage takes on some serious subjects. With a twist humor and an abundance of heart Sinclair Jayne reminds us that the outer differences don't matter, but it's what's inside that does.

Swipe Right for Marriage (Misguided Masala Matchmaker Book 2) by Sinclair Jayne Sawhney. Shanti Kapoor and Rakesh Singh have the hot attraction that never burns out even after many years. The also have the history to go with it. Still they are so much alike n their single minded pursuit of their personal goals to ignore that chemistry until Rakesh decides to act on it.

What a fun read this is from beginning to end. The descriptions of family, events, and the emotions that the main couple go through is wonderfully written. Once again a great look at Indian culture, traditions, and food. Then there’s the inside look at organizing a major big city event. One that s real and one I would love to attend. It was great seeing Rohan and Solei the couple from the first book so happy. Nevertheless while I enjoyed the first book in the series but I loved this one. Recommend to all romance readers.

An amazing second-chance romance.

Ten years ago, Shanti and Rakesh had a short-lived fling before they went to college. They never spoke again afterwards. When they are finally reunited, the attraction is still there. But they both have high demanding careers and a relationship really isn’t in the picture. There is just one thing they need to learn; you can’t deny your destiny.

This beautifully written love story was more than I could have ever imagined. I loved the reunion story, but I also love this big Indian American family. This book is filled with romance, emotional scenes, funny scenes and many serious ones as well. All around, this is a wonderful story and great addition to the Misguided Masala Matchmaker series.

Rakesh and Shanti have been competitors in most areas of high school and college. They have always had a very strong chemistry and it is still apparent after a ten year absence. Seeing a perfect opportunity, Rakesh decides it is time to wholeheartedly pursue Shanti and finally win her to him.
A terrific story full of tense moments, simmering and boiling over lust, a deepening love.

What a great second chance story. Shanti and Rakesh have a very strong connection between them even after all there time apart. Neither of them is looking for a relationship but sometimes life has other plans for us! I loved their story. It was funny, dramatic and so much more. I would highly recommend not only this book but the whole series as well. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sinclair Jayne tackled some really tough topics in this novel. Self acceptance, societal acceptance, honesty which yourself, and honesty with others, and most of all allowing yourself to be vulnerable. This was as much about Shanti and Rakesh love story as it was about accepting yourself and allowing yourself to be loved.

I received this arc of Swipe Right for Marriage in exchange for my honest review. This is the second book in the Misguided Masala Matchmaker series by Sinclair Jayne Sawney. I have read both books and I am really enjoying the series. I recommend reading them in order for the most enjoyment. The second book is Shanti Kapoor’s story. She is a very successful and well respected corporate attorney. She is the middle sister of the 3 Kapoors sisters. Her parents, her grandmothers and her aunt and uncle are a very close and wealthy family in the Indian community in Charlotte. After her older sister’s arranged marriage fell through, her family is looking at her to have a matchmaker find her someone. She has already told them no.

Shanti has a love hate relationship with a man her family has taken under their wing, Rakesh Singh. He is also a powerful attorney with a high power job as assistant DA. He has aspirations to go into state or local politics. When he and Shanti were in college years ago, they had a one night fling and then she ghosted him. He was immature and immediately went after other women much to her dismay. Shanti has carried secrets about that time and has never shared with her close knit family or Rakesh. She had strong feelings for him that she buried and went on. Their families are busy with the Charlotte Festival of India and the two are thrown together for the events. In addition, Rakesh has realized he loves Shanti and wants to make her his. He makes a plan to win her heart but knows he has only one chance to get it right. So he adds her to the board for a charitable organization that he has set up for women and children who are victims. She wants to say no but agrees to be on the board and help out. This requires them to spend time together. Both realize they have strong feelings but don’t know what to do. Shanti is afraid she will lose Rakesh once he learns her secrets. This angst and romance makes for a very pleasant read.

Sinclair has written a wonderful story and series. The Kapoor’s family are so interesting to read about. I enjoy reading more about the Indian culture and the customs followed by them. The interactions of the various family members and friends is also so compelling to read. I love how Shanti and Rakesh challenge each other and their past history makes things even more interesting. The addition of the dog, Bacon provided a lot of levity to the story too. I definitely recommend this book and the series and give it 5 stars.
