When did life get so complicated? The plan was just to get through my winter semester, binge Doctor Who marathons and eat all the mint ice cream a girl could eat. So why am I obsessing over a delectable classmate who's blood makes me want to r*de him silly or drink him dry?
Don't judge me! I'm a vampire, okay? I hardly ever indulge beyond sustenance and only on occasion , do it for fun--but that's not the point! Someone tried to kill me and it was only natural for me to bite back(excuse the pun) Probably would have been smart to make sure no one was watching me though...
Guess that's what I get for being impulsive!
Wander This World is a lighthearted, sometimes darkish vampire college romance with a geeky Black redheaded vampire and the tattooed sweetheart who becomes hers. It was previously published under another pen name.
Siren Crow is a proud New Englander but her true calling is far off in another realm or a magical castle. She writes scorching fantasy and paranormal romance that's both darker and otherworldly. Alpha heroes is her specialty and the heroines that love them are her passion.
This book was shallow in the best way. Most times, I want more information, deeper connections, etc. This story was different. We get a sense of mystery from Melanie that makes her alluring and intriguing. And Penley too. We know enough to be interested, but I don't feel like I know them. This was a blip, a peek, into their timeline and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The storyline is unique, in a good way. I'm trying not to give anything away but nothing is predictable. For instance, the ending of the sex scene between the two. I can't believe he did what he did and the rationale why does not make sense. And the fact that he is willing to endure pain during the feedings. Pervis is weird.
It was a different twist to have the female lead the supernatural and the male lead the unsuspecting human. Even the antagonist angle was interesting. Nevertheless, this book was just “okay” for me. Maybe more character development, maybe better incorporation of the secondary storyline would’ve helped.
I like that the female is a vampire and a strong lead. Penley is a good male lead who is attracted to Mel’s darkness. There is a nameless stalker who is obsessed with Mel and feels disturbed that she is stepping out on him. I love the characters and would read another book by the author.
Look this was not my favorite but the world building was interesting and I kinda appreciated some of the college experience. Sometimes authors will complete ignore settings when building the plot.
Unfortunately. I audibly sighed when I realized the age difference. And i couldn’t raise my mood from that point on.
