A fantastic rhyming, prehistoric debut from Emi-Lou May that's packed with lovable dinosaur characters from Leire Martín!
Thumping head? Tummy ache? Nose all sore and sniffy? Then call for Doctorsaurus and she’ll fix you in a jiffy!
Triceratops has hurt his horn and T-Rex’s nose is all blocked and snotty. Join Doctorsaurus as she races to the rescue and helps the poorly dinosaurs feel better. But when Brontosaurus has a tummy ache, the dinosaurs get a little more than they bargained for!
This light-hearted, poop-tastic and enjoyable story is the perfect tonic for all poorly toddlers. Ideal for fans of all things dinosaurs and readers of The Dinosaur That Pooped a. . . series, Zog and the Flying Doctors and Gigantosaurus. PRAISE FOR DOCTORSAURUS : "Emi-Lou May absolutely nails [the] perfect mixture of ingredients for a kids’ story . . . Amazing work – I loved it!” - Dr Xand and Dr Chris, Operation Ouch "Not only a delightful, silly rhyming romp with dinosaurs but reassuring and calming for toddlers dealing with any unnerving first experiences of being poorly." - Miranda Hart, actress, comedian and writer
Emi-Lou May lives in a boys’ boarding school near Oxford, England, with a husband, four children, 65 teenaged boys and a host of lively pets.
Emi-Lou previously worked in film and radio and has always loved the art of storytelling in any and every format. Doctorsaurus is her debut picture book.
Doctorsaurus is one of those books that children will adore and find hilarious, whilst parents/guardians will pull horrid faces at some of the scenes.
The book is filled with different dinosaurs all having medical issues such as Triceratops breaking his horn in three, or T-Rex having a thumping head, sneezing, and sniffing. They all get help from their local doctor – Doctorsaurus, who fixes all their problems, including giving prunes to one who can’t go to the toilet (might have something to do with the horrid scenes mentioned above!!)
The book is illustrated wonderfully with bright, colourful illustrations that are a lot of fun to look at and are full-page too. The book has been written in a rhyming style which I love and find that children love as well.
The plot is highly amusing and I love how helpful Doctorsaurus was to all her patients. The dinosaurs appreciated her so much that they even threw her a party.
This is a story that I can see young children asking for over and over again as it is adventurous, thrilling, and will make them laugh-out-loud.
Yksinkertaisella kuvituksella kuvitettu kirja Dinosauruksista ja heidän tohtoristaan. Riimittelyä löytyy, juoni kääntyy nopeasti kakkavitseiksi. Naurattihan tämä töissä kohdeyleisöä, juurikin sen valtavan kakkavitsin vuoksi - en tiedä kuuluiko tarinasta jäädä jotain muutakin mieleen?
When you are in dinosaur time who you gonna call when you have an ouchie? Doctorsaurus!
I just LOVE dinosaurs, so this was something I just had to give a shot when I spotted it on a hunt for new picture books to read! Add to that that this dinosaur is a doctor and fixing dinosaurs left and right, love it~
In this book we meet our Doctorsaurus as she helps out several dinosaurs, four in total! From a triceratops who was too enthusiastic and broke their horn (OUCH) to a snotty T-rex (even wearing a cosy scarf). Our doctor can handle anything and I loved how fast she was there to help! And I love all the ways she helped them out.
I really had a snicker at seeing such a big dinosaur as Doctorsaurus in a tiny little red ambulance.
I loved that in the end they had a celebration for the doctor, that is so sweet of them to thank her for all she did!
And that ending, haha, well that was kind of expected, though I hadn’t expected it any more. I think kids will love that it ends on that note. XD
The art was really fun and I love how the dinosaurs were drawn. The facial expressions were great and I love the colours~
All in all, this book will sure be a hit with little ones, but also bigger ones who love dinosaurs grins. I would recommend this dino-doctor-tastic book to all.
This is great! I loved doctorsaurus coming screaming down the road in her car to come and help them. I'm not a huge fan of poop humor but stegosaurus with a belly ache and having a big poop is funny and well done here. All of doctorsaurus's patients are brave. An adorable story.
Esihistoriallinen rantaretki keskeytyy, kun Triceratops törmää puuhun ja satuttaa sarvensa. Onneksi dinotohtori huristaa paikalle hoitamaan potilasta. Muillakin dinoilla on vaivoja, joihin tohtorilta löytyy apu. Hauskasti riimitelty kuvakirja.
I had to read this when I say it in the library because I’ve always been a fan of dinosaur books and a scary cat on the doctors office. I think this would have been one of my favorites if I had read it as a kid. It’s a basic little story, but the moral is clear and the illustrations are gross at times, but effective.
A great picture book for a KS1 classroom. This story is full of colourful illustrations and humour, following "doctorsaurus" who visits and helps poorly dinosaur patients. This book would be a great addition to the book corner for those who love dinosaurs and helping others.
