Nick & Cindy

Rate this book
***This novel is standalone, happily ever after romance for some of the characters that you’ve come to know in the other series by the same author. It may have a storyline that follows along with one or more of the characters in the Texas Knights, Texas Kings, or Conner Brothers Construction series. Please look on www.ceebowermanbooks.com for suggested reading order if you’d like to follow along with the entire Rojo timeline.***

Nick and Cindy are living the fairy tale, or at least, that’s what someone who doesn’t know them well might think. A handsome police officer who marries a caring nurse before they ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after is exactly what fairy tales are made of, right?

But in almost every fairy tale, there is a villain that the handsome prince slays for his princess. In Nick and Cindy’s story, their enemy can’t be seen. It lurks in the shadows and then strikes out to change their lives before it slinks away again only to come back another day. Nick can’t slay the villain that’s stalking his family; all he can do is hold his wife tight and help her through the battle.

Join friends and family that you’ve met and loved in previous books and get to know Nick and Cindy Cardenas who are a large part of the Rojo community. Join this couple through tears and laughter while they fight for the fairy tale that they deserve. They can get through anything as long as they’re together, and when the day is done, all that matters is each other and the family that they’ve worked so hard to create.

Authors This book is about a couple who have made appearances in many of the Texas Knights and the Texas Kings books. In those stories, Nick and Cindy are a married couple who are very much in love and struggling with infertility. In this book, their story will span from their first meeting, through the early years of marriage when they dealt with illness and infertility, and go on as they build their family together through good times and bad. It’s a happily ever after with lots of bumps in the road, much like real life. Please be aware that the problems that Nick and Cindy deal with together may upset some readers. Their story deals with some heavy issues as they deal with cancer and infertility and then runs through a gamut of emotions as they deal with foster care and adoption before they finally find a surrogate that they can trust.

This one was so good! We've seen Nick and Cindy as secondary characters in the other books set in Rojo, so getting to really get to know them better in this one was great! They have such a great love story, you couldn't help but be happy for them. It wasn't easy, mostly due to Cindy's cancer bouts, it made them realize that what they wanted might not happen. But being in Rojo and being good people, meant what they wanted, kids, found their way to them. I especially loved how the last child came to them. It was fitting and such a big sacrifice! I also loved Cindy's tattoo, such a great way to honor the man she loves.

Sweet read with so much heart!

I have been reading all the books this author puts out, so I am a bit biased and already feel connected to these characters. This is such a good story/fairytale. I loved how strong the couples relationship was and their family was put together so well. Can't wait to read more.

What a beautiful heart wrenching love story. Both main characters (Nick & Cindy) are exceptional people. I love the way they got together. This couple has gone through hell and back. Cindy's strength is unbelievable. Nick's unwavering devotion to Cindy while she was going through her treatments and what he did for her (all of it made my heart hurt with pain and overwhelming emotion). The kids that come into their lives under different circumstances are so sweet and hilarious. Emerald is one helluva special person. What she does for them is so selfless and beyond. Of course all the usual characters were present and loved reading about them once again. I can't wait for Reagan and Marcus's story but until then I'm going to start The Tempests series (Fain's family).

Nick & Cindy

So many serious topics had me on the verge of tears. This couple may have only been side characters in SO MANY of the Texas Knights and Texas Kings books but they were so important in the roles they played. This book was so important. We needed to know their story and it’s so freaking beautiful! I was on the verge of tears so many times and wound up snorting with laughter! I couldn’t put this book down! What an amazing visit with so many of my Rojo friends. Not just a must read, it’s a must own - in digital format and in print.

A definite must read book and series!!

I have always wondered what Nick and Cindy's story was since the first time they were introduced in all of the craziness that is Rojo, Texas. Lol! They both won a special place in my heart with their own craziness, huge hearts, and loyalty to those who they care about. I was thrilled to see that they finally got their own story, and it certainly didn't disappoint!
I know that there's quite a few subjects in this story/series that are very difficult for some. One of the things that I admire about this author is her ability to write about the difficult situations that occur in real life, and to do so with the sensitivity, respect, and admiration that the victims/survivors deserve. Sure, some of that may come through laughter (even though it seems like there's absolutely nothing to laugh about), tears, togetherness, craziness in the form of children (lol!!), and the reminders of family (by blood & by choice).
I would highly recommend that you read all of the series that occur in Rojo, Texas. Those include the Texas Knights MC, Texas Kings MC, Connor Brothers Construction, and of course this one, Rojo, Tx. I would suggest starting with the Texas Knights MC, and then read the others according to their release dates for the best reading enjoyment. There is a lot of character crossover between all of these series, which means that you'll get even more of all your favorite characters! All of these stories are absolutely amazing, hilarious, and will certainly have you hooked from the beginning!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

This is the 6th book in the Rojo, TX series. We have seen glimpses of Nick and/or Cindy in many of Cee Bowerman’s other series (i.e. Texas Knights, Texas Kings, Connor Brothers Construction). This book is about Nick of the Texas Knights MC (and a police officer) and Cindy a nurse at the local hospital. It was love at 1st sight but it was the love that they had for each that enabled to live thru some of life’s biggest challenges and allow them to have all that they hoped for when they came together. This book has it all. It has laughs, tears but it’s the love between these 2 characters that is truly beautiful. This book is the best example of a true-to-life love story that I’ve seen in quite some time
Cee writes stories of wonderfully strong women who meet and fall for strong, protective alpha males and this one is no exception.

We finally get Nick and Cindy's story!

Family doesn't necessarily mean by blood. This story is a very strong proof of that statement.

Nick fell for Cindy at first glance, they had a whirlwind courtship. The closeness between all the characters between the Knights, the Kings, and everyone close to them, can be felted as you read. Cindy's battle with cancer, not once but twice, shows just how strong her and Nick's bond is. No matter what life has dropped in their path, they step right up and keep on going.

*It is highly recommended that you read every single book in the previous series, otherwise you will not get the closeness between the characters.

Another Great One!

I thought I knew all the best parts of Nick and Cindy's story. How wrong I was... Cee Bowerman is a fantastic author who does not disappoint. Even with characters and a story line that I thought were fully developed in past books/series, this book kept me engaged and eager to discover what would happen next. If you are looking for a series with impressive story lines and great characters, look no further. It's like a mini family reunion each time a new book is released (if you love spending time with your family members, that is). I can't wait to read what this author has in store for us next.

Love More Rojo

If only i coukd give more than five stars. Freaking AMAZING! Cindy and Nick have been a big part of so many other stories told by Cee Bowerman. To finally get their love story seems like a gift. This couple is so good together- the true meaning of good times and bad, sickness and health. Nick is Cindy's prince charming. Every woman needs a Nick to talk dirty to them an treat them like a queen. I did not realize how truly badda$$ Cindy is. I cannot wait for more of the craziness that comes from Cee's crazy Texas family. I am looking forward to the next generation series.

Wow

I've read ALL of Few books and its so hard to pick just as my favorite.... But I have to say this one just may be that one. We've seen so much of Nick and Cindy in so many books but never knew ABOUT them. This is an amazing job showing how bad and tough real life an be for anyone. It showcases the real struggles families go through fighting real life. And that its not a walk in the park but a true obstacle course that is battled and changed everyday. Cancer sucks. I lost my step mom in 2009 to it and then my dad in 2016. They both fought hard but didn't win. I praise the tact and taste shown in this book on that battle.

The best love story ever

This one tugs at the heart. Nick and Cindy have always been there throughout all of the Texas Kings and Texas Knights books. This is their story of love, tribulations, trials and life. This is a definite must read.
This story is a boy meets girl and falls in love. It is a pure love story that highlights the strength of that love as it endures life's roadblocks thrown at it. This story is so relatable as you will know someone that's been through this and walked this path.
Cee Bowerman is an amazing storyteller and author.

What a roller coaster

This books is one of the most emotional stories I have ever read. One minute your laughing then your crying then back to laughing.

The chemistry between all the characters in Nick and Cindy's story is awe inspiring. Emerald is just the sweetest kindest woman there ever was.

Nick has to be rhe strongest husband ever to deal with what was thrown at Cindy and gold her up like he did.

Cindy is a born survivor and what she the cards she us dealt with through out this story just breaks your heart.

Another amazing book from Cee.

Nick and Cindy have been side characters in a lot of Cee's other stories and I know everyone was asking if they would get their own book. I can say after reading this story it's my favourite in the Rojo series.
It's has so many feelings throughout the book and its so much better than I imagined it would be.
I laughed and cried while reading it and felt enormous love for one character in particular!
1000% MUST READ!

Have the tissues ready

Oh, this book is so full of emotions. We’ve loved Nick and Cindy from the beginning in the Texas Knights series and especially in the book Lout (Texas Kings) but this book, I have no words. It’s just beautiful. A perfect story of loving each other through all of the bad. I was crying before I was 10% into the book and barely stopped. And most of those tears were just from the palpable love you can feel in this book.

Nick and Cindy

I have loved these two throughout many of Cee's stories, but holy cow the love they have for each other is just truly amazing. Nick has been her rock and vise versa and they suffered in different ways, but they were also blessed in other ways. I totally adore Emerald and all that she has endured herself and oh my goodness, what a beautiful young soul she is and just an amazing young lady. Happy reading.

Nick & Cindy

This is a heartwarming story that deals with sensitive subjects. As always, the author handles them with honesty and taste. The love story of Nick and Cindy is filled with so much love, strength and family. The one lesson we come away with is family isn't always blood. We are free to choose who we surround ourselves with. Please read this book. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Best of the Rojo Series

We have seen and loved Nick and Cindy in several of the books set in Dojo (Knights, Kings and Rojo series). I was so excited to learn they were getting a book, I hadn't anticipated it since they were already an established couple. Saying this book hits all the feels is inadequate to describe how amazing it is! I laughed, cried, and fell in love with these characters a little more.

What happens in a marriage when the going gets rough? What happens to your love when you face more obstacles than seems fair. You face them with hope, with laughter, with tears, and most importantly, love. Nick and Cindy should get a pass for the rest of their lives. They face so much pain, so much heartache and they come out the other side stronger together. They are each others ride-or-die and what a beautiful journey it is. Loved every minute, 10 stars for Nick and Cindy!

So beautiful and touching love story!

This is an emotional roller coaster with all that Nick and Cindy had to overcome with their happily ever after! There are trigger warning if you can’t handle cancer, infertility issues, adoption, surrogacy, you might want to pass but their story is beautiful in all they have endured! Their family may not be traditional but the love for their children and extended family is felt through the story!

Nick and Cindy

No words can describe how beautiful this is, but also a tear jerking story. They have such a beautiful relationship and a strong family. I don't even think that the word family is even a strong enough word that describes this family dynamic. Such love and loyalty that they have for each other it's just undescribable,I just love this story it hits home just touches my heart.
It was worth waiting for their journey in life.

I am happy to have read Nick and Cindy's story... it felt like it was a long time coming.

This was a weepie from beginning to end for all sorts of reasons. What I did like was the matter of fact way each topic was dealt with. No whispering behind closed doors. Liked that. I did like that Nick's family truly loved Cindy too... that was just lovely.

Now... I am intrigued to read Emerald's story at some point. I think I may have an idea of who her '&' might be...

True Love

This book gives the reader a front seat to something that people don’t talk about enough. There are so many people that struggle to have a family and have to climb mountains to get there. I just adored the love between Nick and Cindy. Their pet names for each other. This is a story of true love and determination to have what you want. An added bonus is catching up with the rest of the families you know and love. One character will steal your heart.

What a truly beautiful love story!

Nick and Cindy's story was beautifully written. From the beginning to the end. This is what true love, partnership, respect and being there for each other through what life throws at you, and staying strong for each other. Cee reminds us that we don't always have to be blood to be a family to have strong family ties. Thank you Cee for this wonderful story.

OMG😂😁

This story was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!!. It was so moving, exciting, entertaining and just WOW!!. It makes you want to cry, scream at the unfairness of life, laugh with them and cuss and raise hell with them as well!!!. I know this is just a story but, I for one like to believe there are couples just like these 2 out in the world with the same struggles every day!!. Cee is a FANTASTIC storyteller and is a PHENOMENAL writer.😎😍🤗.

Amazing!!!

I have absolutely loved every single book in all four series but this book definitively has all the love, angst, tears and joy of all of those books Rolex up in this one story. Nick and Cindy are the perfect epitome of what a loving couple and family should be like. I honestly love Martha and Smokey with all my heart but jezz not even they cannot hold a tenth of the love and grit these two have. I also have to say that Emerald is the bomb I love that character.

Wow

I started crying at about 20 pages in, my heart was breaking. Then it got put back together. Laughs were thrown around, with angst mixed through all the emotions. Then crying again. Sometimes from laughter. Don't smiles. The ups and downs, good times and not so good. The incredible staying power of this couple is a wonder.

Nick & Cindy

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. And I was teary throughout. Cee Bowerman did a good job with very sensitive subjects. Cindy's tatoo was beautiful. It was great seeing some of the Knights and Kings wives together. Lout calling his brother-in-law different names was hilarious.
