The fearless Keeper of the Chasm. An ex-warlock recovering from death. An evil rising from the flames.
Nox When my idea of sneaking into the Burning Chasm for a recon mission was shot down by everyone, including the King of Otherworld, I probably should've listened. Now I was stuck inside a chasm full of the blackest souls of the world, and I could get caught any moment by the very evil we were trying to fight. Would I be able to get out in time, or was this the end for me?
Harlan When I'd taken a fatal hit to save my best friend's life, I hadn't known I'd end up in a whole new realm, fight a whole new evil. I also hadn't known I'd find and lose my mate on my first day in Otherworld. But I wouldn't let him slip away so easily, no matter how hard I needed to fight to get him back. But in a fight against these unknown forces, would I be strong enough to get Nox out before he succumbs to the darkness of the Burning Chasm?
Nox, the third book in the Lords of Otherworld series, features a badass soul who has trouble following orders, a newly minted soul collector with a savior complex, and a romance that is equal parts sweet and spicy.
Each book in the Lords of Otherworld series features a different couple with an overarching plotline. Each book ends in an HEA for the couple, but it is recommended to read the books in order for the most enjoyment.

Today when I woke up I got so hyped. I discovered that I got an ARC of Nox in exchange of my honest opinion.
Given that I write this review a few hours after I started reading the book you guessed right. The book is THAT good. So I read it in one sitting.
This is the third book of the “Lords of otherworld” series and it’s the story of Nox and Harlan. Let me tell you, I instantly fell in love with the characters. Harlan is a calm and serious man. But the burly male has also a soft spot for his mate and really is sweet and caring. Who doesn’t love that. He calls Nox his “Trouble” (ugh my heart) and not without a good reason. ;) Nox on the other hand is a sassy and snarky risk-taker. But inwardly he is also a caring person with a big heart who loves his family and would do anything to protect them. Even jump into the burning chasm. His character is really multifaceted but that’s why I instantly fell in love with him. He is always up to something and keeps Harlan on his toes. It’s hilarious.
Harlan and Nox are the opposites of each other and I think that is what makes them so adorable. They balance each other or rather Harlan balances Nox. Some scenes between those two nearly had my heart exploding. So cute. And I really loved that they got to know each other before the spice was added.
Regarding the plot I don’t want to say to much. Only that it develops really well and the story is full of adventures and action. I am really curious how the story will continue in the next book.
The book was actually well written. The way Stella Rainbow accomplishes to convey the feelings of the characters so the reader sympathize with them amazes me. In addition to that the book was fluent to read and easy to understand.
I also loved the little crossover with the people of Mistvale. Makes me want to re-read them. Whoopsi.
So all in all the book was an amazing sequel to the series. Definitely worth reading in my opinion! I can’t wait for Lionel’s book.
Nox by Stella Rainbow is the next book in the Lord's of Otherworld series.
This book starts out with a bang! The book starts out with Nox jumping into the chasm to try to find out more information about all the strange things happening in the world. While he did get the information he wanted, he also got trapped and injured in the chasm. Until his mate portals in and rescues him.
I really enjoyed all the characters that were introduced into this series. A kraken/fae, kelpie, wyvern, and a troll? Not to mention the wendigo? I have never read about those characters in a book before and now I have! I really hope those characters all get their own stories at some point.
The main storyline of this book was excellent as always, Nox and Harlan along with the others who are from the Otherworld try to heal and rescue all of the supes suffering from black magic. There is still romance involved of course, Nox and Harlan are mates after all. I almost awe'd out loud when they went out on their date, I loved that part of the book. If you are wondering what the heat level is I would say it's a solid 4. There aren't a lot of steamy moments but when you come across those moments it's pretty steamy.
I have to say that I don't think it's fair how Stella ended this story, I mean how could you? I'm going to be eagerly waiting for Lionel's story to come out now. Especially because of what Nox and Lionel figured out at the end of this book. The mystery just gets better and better the more this series goes on.
I highly recommend this book along with the whole series. (While this could be read as a standalone I strongly recommend reading the previous books first. It'll be so much better, trust me!)
*I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.*
The story follows Nox, the Keeper of the Burning Chasm, who recklessly sneaks into the dangerous abyss despite warnings from the King of Otherworld. Trapped among the world's most corrupted souls, Nox faces imminent peril and must find a way to escape before succumbing to the darkness. Meanwhile, Harlan, an ex-warlock who died saving his best friend, awakens in Otherworld—a realm unfamiliar yet brimming with new dangers. On his first day, he discovers that Nox is his fated mate, only to lose him just as quickly. Determined not to let Nox slip away, Harlan embarks on a desperate mission to rescue him before the ominous forces of the Chasm claim him forever.
I loved this story, which intertwined themes of loyalty, redemption, and the fight against overwhelming odds, resulting in a romance filled with heartache and hope. There is a lot of danger and drama in this book, which is full of emotions and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content.
4.5 stars Nox is book three in the Lords of Otherworld series. I loved Nox and Harlan together. Nox is the Keeper of the Chasm. Harlan is an ex-warlock that died to save his best friend. Nox and Harlan are total opposites. Nox is a little snarky and Harlan is just plain sweet, a really nice balance. The story is fast paced with a ton of action, it was literally non-stop, which made it a little difficult to keep up with. I do want to say that the plot was well developed, the world building continues to grow with each book and the author takes us deeper into that, I’m impressed with that! I really liked the crossover with the Mistvale clan. Overall, a great story, a fantastic addition to the Lords of Otherworld series. Well written, definitely recommend.
I am really enjoying this series. Each of the books so far are quite different, I like how unique each couple is, while still feeling part of the same overall story. My favorite thing is the world building, which is so creative and detailed. Very well done. I liked Nox from the earlier books, and his story did not disappoint. Harlan and Nox have a wonderful connection, I loved their sweetness juxtaposed to the darker elements of the Otherworld. Great world building, engaging plot, and great characters. Excellent!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
But I have some issues with the story line involving the Chasm. What is really the point of it? Not one of the dark souls are being punished at all. They are all still evil and able to do whatever they want. They built a shield around it so none can escape but what does it matter when they can still move around using dark magic within? The solution would be to stop the of any magic going in and beefing up the torture of those black souls. With no magic they can not escape.
Nox has been dreaming of finding his mate for a long time, luckily for him his mate finds him at just the right moment and saves him from his own stupidity.
Harlan is the ultimate hero and after saving Nox they embark on a swoon worthy love story.
I’m loving the plot for this series and how the otherworld family is coming together to save all of humanity. Each couple has their own unique love story and I’m loving the low angst fated mates aspect of the series too. I can’t wait for the next instalment.
Stella Rainbow has written an immortal with ADHD. Nox is adorable. Reckless. Sweet. Hyperactive. It'll take a strong, sensitive mate to reign him in. Without stifling him. Or strangling him. Thank goodness Fate gave him an overprotective warlock in Harlan. Halfway through the book, I wanted to strangle Nox! A good solid story. Fun to read. The worldbuilding is excellent. The buildup to the next (last) book is smooth. Perhaps we'll get a look at the Afterworld. And maybe even the Demon realm.
I really enjoy this series. There is great and unique world-building, fantastic and diverse characters, lots of action, sweet romance, some steam, and a few surprise twists and turns. This book three is a great addition. I was so happy to see Nox and Harlan get there HEA. I can't believe there is only one book left. I am not ready to say good-bye to these guys.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
3.5* This was okay although for some reason I kept confusing Nox and Harlan. It's like they kind of sounded the same. I liked that Nox finally admitted that working at the chasm was damaging him. I liked that he was always the friend of the underdogs and that there were some more unusual creatures in this. An interesting change.
You definitely need to read the series and even the inter-related series helps.
This is a paranormal romance, the third in the “Lords of the Otherworld” series which should be read in order. This book picks up from the ending of book two where Nox is seen doing something naughty by his mate getting his afterlife tour! Nox is a firecracker and very unpredictable even as he’s saving the world! I can’t wait to read Lionel’s book next! A mystery, a battle and a love like no other; give this series a chance!
I am absolutely loving this series. This world is so fascinating and so interesting to read about. The characters are all so wonderful and I just love to read about them. This time Nox and Harlan get their HEA and I was so happy about it. This is definitely a series that you want to read in order, especially because of the overlying back story. This was such a great read.
This addition to this series is just as good as the other and leads nicely into the last book which is coming soon. A must read for those of us who have enjoyed this great q. Recommend I do.
Things just got a lot more interesting! We’re getting ready to fight the evil bastards and it’s going to be epic! Nox and Harlan were perfect for each other and so adorable. I’m really enjoying the series! Highly recommended
Loved this one if fact I love all of the books I’ve read so far by the author. Paranormal love stories set on earth or other realms are outstanding. Highly recommended
3.5 stars. I should have waited to read this. I don't think I was really in the mood for this one. I liked the characters, but the book fell a little flat.
Okay, this is now one of my favorites to date. I loved how Nox and Harlan's personalities fit so well together. The story was a great mix of action, mystery, sweet romance and sexy that Stella just hit this one out of the park. I also loved the fact she put in some very unique beings in this story that you don't see in and story like this. And that ending though, I can't wait for Lionel to get his story. Stella done a fantastic job.
I really enjoyed this book. It has all the sweetness that I’ve come to expect from one of Stella Rainbow’s stories. I definitely think Fate knew what they were doing when they matched Nox and Harlan together. They’re completely different, but somehow completely balance each other out. They were perfect together, and their chemistry was completely off the charts. Nox, is the keeper of the burning chasm. Nox is sick of them not having any answers about what they’ll be up against next so he decides to go into the burning chasm, even against Damien’s orders to try and discover answers from the black souls of those they’d defeated. Harlan has recently arrived in Otherworld after being killed protecting his best friend Firey and his mate Jules from the same group that had imprisoned Wren and all the kids, as they’d abd*cted Jules a few years prior and he escaped.
Harlan, was being showed around Otherworld, when he spots his mate, Nox and just gets a glimpse of him before he goes into the burning chasm. Harlan, and the rest of the inner circle, and Nox’s family all work together to try and work out how to get Nox back. I loved how Harlan, allowed Nox to let down his walls and be his true self. It was such a bittersweet moment when Harlan got to see his family again (even if they couldn’t see him since he was invisible) when him, Nox and Max travelled to Mistvale to get Aeron to use his necromancer skills to talk to Cynthia so they can hopefully get a lead on the three supes that were infected with black magic so they can be healed before they can be used for darkness. I’m really looking forward to reading Lionel’s story next, especially finding out who his mate is going to end up being. Lionel will finally no be so alone. I’ve already pre-ordered. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
The books in the Lords of Otherworld series continue to impress me as the ongoing story kicks into high gear. There’s a lot of action in this one, along with some highly intriguing new side characters (dare we hope for another spinoff series with these guys?) that are drawn into the plot. Nox’s impulsiveness more than meets its match in Harlan’s protectiveness, though it’s clear he relishes the trouble Nox adds to his re-life. Nox is such a complex character and the story really lets him shine. The tease at the end for Lionel’s book has me impatient to see where the series will wrap up.
Nox is the third in the Lords of Otherworld series, a spin-off from the Fate's Gamble series. The book follows the story of Nox and Harlan. The book was really well written and is somewhat heavier in tone than Mistvale or Fate's Gamble but still full of the signature Stella sweetness. The story is emotional and full of action and adventure. Overall very enjoyable story and looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
