An excellent resource that follows the musical worship of the church from the Old Testament to 20th Century America.
The author chose to include several lists of hymn writers and composers along with their most notable texts and tunes. Even musical notation is included. All of this enhanced the reading without bogging it down.
Brief and quickly moving, but rich with information. Very, very good. Less than 100 pages.
