A powerful minority of Fae have fled the Fae realm due to Rurik's authoritarian rule. They reveal critical details about the state of the Fae realm that the Guardians could use in their fight. But why is Presto so fond of one of the mysterious travelers?

The silver lining in this confusing situation is that Selene's best friend, Jayne Reicher, stops by Hale Hall for a visit. Selene is over the moon, but the good feelings are soon soured when she visits a local bookstore and finds the owner dead in the back room.

Even worse is when she discovers that the owner was a prominent member of the magical community who had researched why the portals were weakening. Diaries containing pertinent information about the Fae realm were burned twice over.

Someone, or something, is trying to cover up Rurik's dirty tracks. Selene suspects that it's a Fae that has somehow breached their realm and is wreaking havoc. However, she isn't too sure, especially once she starts unraveling the truth behind the bookshop owner's death.

Cullen and Sheriff Andrew keep fighting for her affection, which is already bad enough. When Selene gets a panicked call from Niles, this threatens to shove her already shaky circumstances far into the deep end.

At least Presto remains by her side. Then again, the talking cat has some secrets of his own...

entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Celine is a divorced mother of a set of twins who are overseas going to college in Scotland. After her divorce she moved to a small town where she got a job as a caretaker/manager at a castle being remodeled into a bed-and-breakfast. She soon found out that the previous owner Rowena was a guardian which for many years protected the area from the bay from invading the human world. Mini guardian which is throughout the world do the same around the world. Rowena passed away and her nephew inherited the castle. The nephew is the one that hired Celine to work there. Celine inherits Rowen as magic becomes the new guardian and must protect the human world from the Fae entering and causing problems. Vaseline is recently divorced there is some romantic tension between her boss and her and between her and the local sheriff who both seem to be highly interested in Celine. She must navigate these waters as well as helping the sheriff solve murders in town just to make sure the failure not involved in those. A very entertaining and fun read. Check it out

She has quite a bit on her plate already when more is about to come to her. She finds a dead body and a fae has escaped to her world bringing more bad news. Things are going to get more complicated and dangerous for all those involved. See just what is going to happen and how she will deal with it all.

Lots of errors.

I enjoyed the storyline, but dropped a star from my usual 4-star rating for this series because of the multitude of errors in this book. Incorrect homonyms, poor sentence structure, calling characters by the wrong names, and choppy transitions from one scene to the next. All those things were distracting and left me feeling less than impressed with this book.

Hooked!

I am hooked on this series! I had absolutely no clue at all who the murderer was. I was blindsided completely at the reveal. The love triangle is getting weird, too. The guys are acting so strange. Can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Another good read!

I really enjoyed this book. The story has some layers and keeps you guessing till the very end as to who killed the owner of the book store. Was the killer Fae or human, Selene must figure it out quickly.

better off

This series started off with a bang. I like all the characters. The storyline gets a little convoluted. I’m not sure when she has time to work on the castle. What is with the men you would think they were possessed.

Very Good Read

Excellent story. A murder. No suspects and the fae are on the move. And if that were not enough two guys and only one girl. Fun and exciting read.
