Samantha doesn’t believe in fairytales. If she did, she would’ve ended up with the boy of her dreams and childhood best friend, Phoenix. Instead, he moved away to become a rockstar, leaving her--and their happily-ever-after-- behind him. Years later, her sister surprises her with concert tickets on her twenty-fifth birthday, and it’s one she’ll never forget. But will fate deliver on the fairytale ending Samantha deserves? Or will she be reminded of what happens when she lets herself hope for something that’s just out of reach?
Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.
She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.
This was such a simple and cute little read. Damn I could have used a full story of these two as opposed to a novella. Realistic? Probs not. But still adorable.
Not to totally sell myself out here but I found this author on TikTok. She has these little videos where she talks about a hypothetical situation which turns out to be a scene from one of her books and dang it if I didn’t make my first TikTok purchase after that. 🤣 Thennn to make matters worse when I got the book it came with this free novella which of course I had to read first because it’s a novella right? 🤣🤣 And spoiler alert I am completely obsessed. 🤩
This is a super quick read (less than 40 pages) but it’s a novella so I’m totally fine with that. But the best part is though she be tiny she is GREAT. I really enjoyed this read. Somehow it had all the best romance aspects and gave me all the little goosebumps and butterflies. Both characters were great, but I absolutely fell in love with the drummer Phoenix. 🥁🔥😍 I totally understand groupies now.
“It feels so good, though. Like a drug. One that I’ve been having withdrawals from for years.”
I love all of Kelsie's books and this one is no exception. While the story is short, it's still engaging and sweet. Makes me want a full book with Phoenix and Sam as the main characters. Great tie in with the other stories in the Broken Vows series.
Wrecked Roommates SERIES REVIEW: ⭐️: 3/5 🌶️: 3.5/5 Format: 🎧
I picked these books up on an audiobook bundle and I'm so glad I did, because I was in a reading slump, and these helped me get out. In terms of romance, they are HEA, fairly predictable, and definitely a comfort read. But the characters do go through really great development! While these are standalones, I do recommend reading them in order, because there will be little hints leading into the next book (or even future ones a couple ahead!).
What I liked about this series was that the author really did a nice job with endearing you to the characters. Since each book led into the next, I found that by the end of each book, I was excited to get into the next couple. I also liked that there were some important plot points that helped drive the romance forward!
Really enjoyable, and quick to get through, especially on audiobook!
5 stars! I ate this up LMAO— I decided to read this after dove and gibbs’ story because i’m not ready for all the drama that I know comes with milo and maddie hahaha, but honestly this was such a good little one shot. I’m glad we get a side story of one of the band members, and I loved the steaminess of it! A good pallet cleanser before diving back into the stories!
I didn’t hate this novella. It was just too short to really make a good judge of it. Phoenix isn’t a big enough player in the series for me to really care about his love life, so I am glad I didn’t get an entire book of them. So I didn’t not enjoy it. But hard to give a big rating for something less than 50 pages.
I totally thought this was going to be about Sammie, instead it's Phoenix and his Samantha (Sam). Anxious, happy, crazy! But I want more! This was way too short!
This is a short but sweet story of Phoenix and Samantha, not to be confused with Sammie from Seabird’s. It’s both their 25 birthday and a chance encounter at a Broken Vow’s concert has them reconnecting. I want more!
It was a quick read- wish it wasn’t a short version because I really could have gotten into this story. Phoenix wasn’t a huge part of the series but it would have been nice to hear his story as well.
Ewwwwww... While the story is written well and their story is cute... You have to seriously suspend reality when you realize they were in 10th grade during all the flashback memory scenes... Including the best sex of her life. Just yuck. No. Why?
I am all for reconnecting, catching up, moving forward, but this story is so short, I don't think it has time to develop into something readers believe in. Maybe if it has started in the past and then skipped forward, but I am struggling to convince myself it was worth the $1 I paid to read it.
Such a cute book! Perfect story! Perfect length! I loved it! I mean.. of course I want more but it was so cute and straightforward I’m still super happy with how this little present was wrapped in a perfect little package with a beautiful bow!
Loved this novella! I wish we had more of a story with these two, but I think the shorter format packed a bigger punch. A public display at a rock concert based on a pact made as children? I ate up every last bite and loved every minute of it.
Too short, but a good story. I thought this was about Sammi the bartender and was pleasantly surprised that it was not. They do reference her though. Cute idea and well executed.
What a cute little novella where we meet a new Samantha! Phoenix and Sam grew up together but then we’re separated in HS. These two found each other again after being separated for many years!
I wish I had known about this book sooner! I love this series and this book was just so cute with its second chance/best friends growing up. Wish I could have more!
Phoenix and Sam. A really cute story! I’m a sucker for childhood friends to lovers. I just really wished it was a full story and not a novella. I wanted so much more!
