Slasher serial killer comics are not typically my jam, and this one isn't even perfect in the sub-genre of horror, but it kept my interest and made me smile, periodically. The concept is original, and the execution is good, with some decent writing in it. It features a guy, Edwyn Stoffgruppen, supposedly a "retired" serial killer traveling the country with his "girlfriend," that happens to be a sex doll. Okay, "her" name is Virginia. And so, yeah, it's that kind of horror/crime mashup of comedy and slasher violence, with a surprising touch of romance?
So Edwyn is into plastic Virginia, and all sorts of plastic, so that's a kind of "motif," such as it is. And donuts are part of the running joke throughout.
Edwyn stops for gas and Virginia gets harassed, Edwyn does what he does in a variety of ways, and drives on, but discovers that one of the guys works for the mob, who kidnaps Virginia and forces E to do some killing for them. E rescues a girl in the process who agrees to help "them."
Improbable? Well, that is the very point, my friend. I'd say maybe 3.5, which is for me average, but it is unique, for sure!
