Long live the dragon queen. Dreia Wells finishes up the Queen of Arcadia series with her final book, Vengeance and Fire and it was glorious. Alliances, an epic battle, magic, a crazy ruler, sacrifice, and so much more. It was awesome.
The characters in this series were some of my favorites, they were very well written. Cordelia is fitting into the role of Queen very well. She works hard for the people, is understanding, and is willing to look to other people when she needs advice but she's still her down-to-earth self. The guys back her every move, following her lead but are there for her to lean on, they are very supportive and loving of Cordelia. I love how affectionate they are with her. The guys have grown closer and are starting to heal from their past, bantering with each other and building strong family bonds.
As for the story, it was fast pace, a lot of action but the battle scene at the end was everything. There was family drama and I'm not talking about the hybrid's, heartache, revelations, and more. The magic was really good, the seers are back. Those three are really interesting and I would like to see them again, them explaining the histories of all supernaturals was great. I loved that this story was told from so many different perspectives, it just added more layers to the story and helped me get a better picture of what was going on with the characters. In fact, there were a couple of perspectives that I wasn't expecting, along with the appearance of a few new characters that have me guessing are gonna be important in some of Dreia's future books.
Vengeance of Fire was a fantastic read and wrapped up Cordelia's story perfectly. Lots of action and magic plus a HEA for lots of people, plus there is a great epilogue. I'm gonna miss these characters but I'm looking forward to getting to know the new ones in Dreia's next series, HellNight Academy.
