The Vice President of Blood Moon Riders MC's Nashville Chapter went missing in 1987. Far as anyone was concerned, Hex was dead. But that was only the beginning.
Blood Moon was one of the most powerful covens in North America. Filled to the brim with magic and mayhem, BMRMC had chapters spread all the way across the fifty states and beyond. The MC wasn't just the coven's foot soldiers, either, they were the backbone on which the coven rested. Witches who weren't afraid to get a little dirty defending the goddess.
Crow, curse-breaker and Prez of BMRMC's Nomad Chapter–the coven's cleanup crew–senses trouble brewing. She could never have imagined that taking a job in Nashville would lead to resurrecting the long-dead VP of the Nashville chapter. Nor that Hex would be her fated mate.
But the evil that put Hex underground didn't die with him. Darkness is lurking around Blood Moon coven, and the Nomads have found themselves smack-dab in the middle of the corruption.
How far does this threat reach? Who can the Nomads trust? And can Crow and Hex find their happily ever after while digging out the cancer eating their club alive?
A mama, Army veteran, and author writing urban fantasy and the occasional paranormal romance. Resident of the Pacific Northwest, currently obsessed with crows, house plants, and stationery.
Not your typical MC Romance, Crow Moon is, a bold as brass take on the genre. A mix of PNR and dark biker romance, topped with a generous measure of hot smut and sprinkled with the best kind of 'Supernatural' type of humour. Yes, I mean THAT Supernatural. Imagine Sam and Dean as badass witches riding bikes and bickering like an old married couple, invading personal space and not giving a shit about it, while always having each other's backs and you get Crow and Justice.
That's Crow, the curse-breaker and Prez of Blood Moon Riders, Nomad Chapter and Justice her BFF. Their dynamic is BADASS!
And that is the general vibe this book imparts too. Badass from first to last page. A dark and raw, brutal and smutty vibe that also manages to get you cracking up. Supernatural style! You can get a pretty good idea about the plot from the blurb itself. When Crow and her cleanup crew are called for a job in Nashville, she ends up resurrecting the long-dead VP of the Nashville chapter. Hex. Who had been literally buried for a couple of decades. And who happens to be her mate.
But the evil that put Hex underground didn't die with him. Darkness is lurking around Blood Moon coven, and the Nomads have found themselves smack-dab in the middle of the corruption. And as if that weren't enough, Crow and Hex have their own personal mountain to scale. If they decide to throw themselves off the edge of a cliff praying the goddess was gonna catch them and trusting the universe had a plan for them as fated mates, that remains for you to find out. I've zipped up my lips and thrown away the key as far as that's concerned.
But what I'm telling you is this: If you like biker romance and PNR, love the dirty, gritty, brutal MC life, and delight in the dark suspense and raw, vivid smut, this book is for you.
The characters aren't quite that fully fleshed and the world not that well defined, which may be due to the shorter page count. But that does prevent somewhat the reader's ability to feel for and with the MCs, and it is also the reason for my almost 4 star rating.
The pace is fast and the plot gripping, the gore and brutality are just what you'd expect from a biker romance, just as the raw, wild and fricking hot smut. And bonus next to all of that, you get to smile and even chuckle throughout.
Short, raw and gritty, brutal smoking hot and fun. Crow Moon is like an episode of Supernatural with a generous topping of dirty smut. I read it in one sitting and highly recommend it to all those of you in search of a different MC romance. One with a paranormal witchy touch.
This is a MC book has members that are witches. Also there's traitors within them.Hex is buried in1987 and Crow is the one that resurrects him. They happened to be mates.
Now I never new witches got mated but here they apparently do. Also I don't think the Author could make up their mind whether to use slang or not.
'Are you ready to join the Blood Moon Riders MC: Nomad Chapter? Your ride is here, she's got a full tank of gas and the road ahead is open for mischief, mayhem and magic'
Thank you to K.O.Newman for sending me an ebook Advanced Reader Copy of Crow Moon for me to read and leave an honest review. --------------------------
Hello to a brand new--surprise--read, and hello to another awesome co-write between to legendary lady authors, K.O.Newman (she/her) & Mariah Thayer (she/her). Two authors I've had the privilege of reading from before, primarily from past anthologies, have come together to create Crow Moon. And what a coming together this was!
I'd like to first start off by saying that you wouldn't know that two people--with unique writing styles of their own--have come together to create this novel. Unlike in some other novels where the difference in styles is obvious, this right here is a seamless read. You would think they were typing side by side, or at least with two souls in one body typing with one pair of hands. It. Is. That. Flawless. These two are so in-sync its unreal!
Now, let's break down the tropes we have for this book. We have; Paranormal Romance, Paranormal, Witches, Fated Mates, Mated Pair, Claiming Mating, Motorcycle Club, Strangers To Lovers, Road Trip, Strong Female Lead. And those are just some of the many tropes woven within this novel. Some run as major tropes, others are touched upon but aren't lingered on but good folk out there, you're getting a lot packed in here.
Much like a certain someone's pants. *Cough* Hex *Cough*. This is a book that's bursting at the seams with all the good, and the bad we love to love.
Hex and Crow...wow, what a pair! He's a man from the past, and she's a badass Prez of an MC constantly on the road. Hex has a lot to learn about the time he's now in--which is a hell of a lot different from where he was from--, and Crow as Prez, has the world and then some on her shoulders. It was a given that I would love whatever man K.O. & Mariah would cook up, they don't go at things at half-speed when it comes to their book men. They're not boys, they're men. But Crow? Score one for the badass bitches out there! I've used the term 'she's far from a wallflower' quite a few times when describing strong, independent female characters in novels, but Crow is in a league of her own. More of this, please! More women who are both strong and not afraid to show their weaknesses. Love, love Crow!
Crow Moon did come with a trigger warning, which is incredibly considerate of both K.O. & Mariah. They've both braved topics and situations within Crow Moon that should be written and published, but both also acknowledge that this book might not be for everyone and that it's okay. Personally, none of the elements within the trigger warning phased me, but please read the blurb in full, including the trigger warning, before you pick up this book. You, the reader, matter as much as the authors who wrote this book.
Heavy out of the way, let's talk steam!
Along with moderately sweary language (love!), violence, bloodshed and crude humour, there's a healthy dose of steam, topped with extra delicious servings! I've read my fair share of books with heavy BDSM, light BDSM, erotica and everything in-between. If you're in to reading steamy moments in graphic detail, light BDSM elements, you're going to love the many moments Hex and Crow have at various points throughout this novel. I sure did! Sex is just better when written by a woman--or women, in this case--period. These two nailed it, for want of a word. Cheeks were a-blushin'.
If you're looking for a read that is both as mystical and paranormal as it is adventurous and action-packed, then this is the book for you! I can see why K.O. has said she's gone back and re-read her own story several times, I've done the very self-same thing too!
Praise where Praise is due, these ladies have worked extremely hard and have put their heart and soul into a read that took next to no time to write, and the results speak for themselves and I think I can hear the thrum of hearty engines agreeing with me. Yes, this book is a success.
Five stars for K.O., Mariah, Hex, Crow & Crow Moon!
Slogged through this read and almost DNF'd. Not enough character depth. The two main characters chapters blended together for me. Their voices weren't distinct enough to tell apart at times. Ony finished because it was such a short read.
This was a great book. I adored hex and Crow. They are real, raw, and relatable. They also complement one another so well. I felt like I got the feel of feelings, even though this is a short book. The ending left me wanting more.
Crow Moon, co written by Mariah Thayer and K.O. Newman is the first book in their brand new Blood Moon Riders Motorcycle Club: Nomad Chapter series. This book is told in dual POV and is Hex and Crow’s story. Content warning: this is a motorcycle club romance, which means this is a dark read that can be triggering for some. There is death, violence, blood shed, foul language and dark scenes, reader beware and buckle up because it’s a wild ride! I’m not quite sure how one book can be absolutely everything and not nearly enough all at the same time but Crow Moon is exactly that. The world building and attention to detail is absolutely flawless! Mariah and Kat are a force to be reckoned with. Page one will have you sucked in and needing more. You may think you know MC romance or paranormal romance, but Kat and Mariah have created a brand new world with a plot that hasn’t been done before. When I say I devoured this book I mean just that - I read this book in one setting. Crow is probably one of the toughest and most bad @$$ main characters I’ve ever read. She is a perfect balance of biker boss and a touch of vulnerability that make you love her. Watching Hex navigate 2022 and all the changes that he goes through will make you root for him. The chemistry is off the charts hot, the plot is so well written and flows so smoothly. All of the characters are so well written that it’s hard not to want to be a part of this world for real. The twists and turns, the betrayal and sequence of events will gut punch you and leave you reeling. ALL. THE. EMOTIONS! This book has a HFN ending that lays groundwork for the series and leaves you demanding to know what happens next. A must read for sure! I cannot say enough good things about this book. Holy cannoli Mariah and Kat - you are literary evil geniuses! (In the best way) ARC graciously given by the authors. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Crow Moon by K.O. Newman and Mariah Thayer is the first standalone in the Blood Moon Riders Motorcycle Club: Nomad Chapter Book 1. It is a Magic and Mayhem Motorcycle Club Romance. This one follows the couple Crow and Hex. Crow is a witch and the Prez of the Blood Moon Rider's Mortorcycle Club, Nomad Chapter. Hex use to be the VP of the Blood Moon Rider's Motorcycle Club, Nashville Chapter. That was in 1987, and while he why trying to dig out the darkness in his club when he was murdered. Now Crow’s coven has helped bring Hex back to life. No one could have guesses they'd turn out to be true mates. I truly loved this book. I adored Hex and Crow; they are real, raw, and relatable. They also compliment one another so well. I feel like the reader gets to feel all the feelings, even though this is a shorter book. Also with the way the ending is, it left me wanting more and needing the next book ASAP.
If I could title this review it would be “underdeveloped potential.”
The premise and blurb of Crow Moon sound fun and creative. I mean biker witches with a hot romance, what more can you ask for? Plot and character development, that’s what.
I really wish that the plot, characters and worldbuilding were further developed (why don’t we learn anything about the magic system??). The book is built on good bones and could just use some expansion.
Aside from the above, we need to take a moment to talk about the dialogue. It is not good. The dialogue in Crow Moon reads like a parody mash up of Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy. Instead of what I assume was supposed to be biker vernacular, it was as if I was reading caricatures of a biker gang. I’m all for occasional slang, but this was so ridiculous that I couldn’t take the dialogue seriously.
Crow is pres of the nomads MC and a witch, when taking a job in Nashville she never expects to resurrect Hex the former VP of the charter and their mates! Troubles comes from every side the past and present collide, in the paranormal, MC read, the story has you hooked and craving more! The mix of two make an interesting unique read, dark themes, action suspense and steamy hot scenes.

The first book in the Blood Moon Riders Motorcycle Club brings Crow and Hex's story. The author bring an interesting read with a dark storyline. They bring violence, danger and death along with the smokin hot chemistry and romance. They had me glued to the pages right to the end and still left me with wanting more. Loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I like MC romance, I like PNR. One would suppose this book would be right up my alley. Sadly, it wasn't. I never got a good grasp on Crow as a person, and perhaps that was problem one. Then I didn't get to know Hex, problem two. So their union fell flat for me. The instant mate attraction can work well if we know the main characters and are invested in their success. Here there just isn't enough insight into who they are to care about them very much.
I really freaking enjoyed that. I don’t think I’ve read a biker witches story before, and I loved it. I was a smidge unsure to start with, but I had faith that I wasn’t steered wrong when it was recommended to me. Deliciously hard, fast and rough with a great storyline that read smoothly, and punched you in the feels at the right times. I need to know what happens next.
Crow never thought her mate was a dead man, until they pulled him from a cursed grave. Hex was just as surprised, to be pulled from a living grave thirty five years later. It's a wonder he wasn't insane after feeling every moment of the time underground. Once they can reconcile that they are mates a bigger battle looms. Dark magic has been in use, money has been skimmed, members have disappeared. Explicit sex, violence.
This story was loaded with page turning suspense. Intense love and loyalty highlight every page. There was so much happening in this one, that it kept you guessing, and completely engrossed in the story. Highly recommend!.

This is the first book in the Blood Moon Riders Motorcycle Club: Nomad Chapter and it follows Crow and Hex. They are relatable and have so much between them. The emotions are raw. This is an exciting, wild ride of a read that might be a shorter read but gives a full story.
Is a witch and MC president. Who bring Hex from t h e grave And falls into a mystry that effects all clubs. And exciting new paranormal mc romance. Looking forward to reading next book.
This series starter was well written and filled with an engaging story line and endearing characters that will keep your attention. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

This is a fast paced book that has a lot packed into it. The mc and their enemies weave an intense story. Their is heartache over events is bittersweet.

I didn't know what I was getting into, but I liked it. Fast, easy read. Hot steam with a little intrigue. A lot of characters to keep up with. And I'm not a fan of duel, single POV. But overall not a bad poolside read.
Oh my pants. I don't even know what to say that wouldn't be a spoiler. These characters have moved into my brain and won't get out. I need more right now.
Magic, witches, and motorcycle club. I really liked this one, but the beginning kinda grossed me out, raising dude from the dead. I wasn't sure I would continue, but was into it by chapter 4.
This could have been so much more. Crow and Hex were awesome. But the story could have just been all over more. Also, Hex's "voice" made him sound like a stupid redneck and that was irritating.
I found this story to be a little confusing and strange. The blurb drew me in and sounded interesting but I could not get into this short story. I did finish it but I did not care for it. Sorry!
