“I hae tae live up tae my promises. Or I ought not tae make them so earnestly.” —Magnus
“I would never want the lesson to be to make fewer promises, less earnestly. It’s one of the greatest things about you.” —Kaitlyn
Magnus and Kaitlyn have new commitments, adventures, and dangers. He has challenges that await. She has loved ones to protect. In the middle of the turmoil they have promises they must keep.
It all begins with a simple request: Magnus, please come...
“M’name is Magnus Archibald Caelhin Campbell and I am the King of Riaghalbane, Magnus I,” and he will allow no one to threaten the throne or his family’s future … Magnus has worked relentlessly with his Queen by his side, to secure the legacy of the Campbell’s … now he is once again forced to pick up arms and oust a usurping pretender from his throne.
Magnus makes promises to multiple people he loves — what happens when some of those promises may not be doable and may cause the death of one of the most trusted people in his life.
The testosterone is flying high in this story and some late night castle conquering leads to some permanent changes in Magnus & Kaitlyn’s life. 😉 I really enjoyed this installment of Kaitlyn and the Highlander and found myself falling back in love with a 17th century time traveling Highlander King! 🏴 The story is full of emotion as all of the characters end up experiencing some upheaval. There is romance, sexy times, battles, plotting & scheming, and of course happiness. Lady Mairead goes through a vulnerable period but never fear she come back swinging and of course she is pivotal in Magnus & Kaitlyn’s HEA.
Loved the story and can’t wait for the next book in the series…you must read this series in order, so if you haven’t given it a try then start with book one Kaitlyn and the Highlander. Enjoy!
The Best thing happens when you wait, oh my what a great story !!
Diana Knightley you did it again, from the beginning to the end of this book it was hard to put it down. The devotion and love Magnus has for his family and friends was so awesome . I laughed, I cried and just was overwhelmed with this new book. I can't wait for the next book to come out ! If you like a good story about the struggles of a family then I recommend this book with a 5 Stars review
OMG this book is SO good! Diana Knightley has done it yet again! The story has all the feels: Love, hate, anger, jealousy, betrayal, and redemption. It made me laugh, cry, gasp, and celebrate. It was the usual roller coaster of emotions that we have come to expect from Ms. Knightley. This book is not a stand alone novel. If you haven’t yet get book 1 Kaitlyn and the Highlander and get ready for a journey of epic proportions!
Imagine a love that knows no time. A love that will fight and find you, time after time. In the present, the past, the future. Can you see it?? Can you believe? If you can’t, read this book! Read all the ones that came before it and you’ll become a believer. Immerse yourself in Kaitlyn and The Highlander’s love story, you’ll laugh, cry, then laugh some more. It’s like holding a bit of magic in your hands.
I purchased the beginning of this series on Audible, took me awhile to start listening but I blew thru all the books available on Audible and had to go back to reading the last 3 books, I have finished the series to date, and have preordered the next inn the series, I hope she never runs out of material for this wonderful family
Like the rest of the series it is a pretty fun/light read. I'll be honest after I read "the end" followed by "except..." I just stopped and I dont plan to continue the series. I was hoping this was the last book. Nothing against the series, I've enjoyed the characters, but it's just starting to feel like a never ending series of repetition...

Diana never ceases to amaze me with her wondrous stories of Kaitlyn and Magnus and all the gang... the only bad part is now I have to wait again for the next book.
I have followed Magnes and Kaitlyn throughout history, past and future never disappointed. I hope, if this is your first introduction, you will go and read from the first.
This series has held me captive from the first page of the first book, and did not fail to delight in this newest epic adventure. The hardest part now begins....The too long wait for the next instalment!
D.K. Tells a great story with lots of interesting plot twists and turns along the way - at book 17 of this series I only find I still look forward to more. She has set up a series with a fountain of potential troubles to make for interesting reading, and I’m here for it.
Magnus lost his kingdom again. His family helps to gain it back. Thank you for Lochinvar. I was hoping Tracy would be for him. The family sure has grown and with new babies. I hope Diana Knightley never gets tired of writing.
Like a few of the previous books in this amazing series, this one gave me anxiety and tears for a few of our KATH family. I of course could not put it down and have already read it a few times.
As with all her other books, Diana Knightley has done it yet again and kept me on the edge of my seat and unable to even take a break. Can't help rereading over and over and still feeling the same as the first time I read it.
I love this book. Donuts, vasectomies, to the past, to the future, stay a while in the present. Hide at a ranch. Plant a forest. Birthing babies. Awesome book!
I finished this in 3 days. I love how Diana writes. The characters feel real and I so enjoy their adventures. The van of tears had me laughing so hard.
