My Tempting Alien Enemy

Rate this book
My blood is red, his blood is blue. But I don’t care about that. All I want is for him to take his army, his delicious tongue, and… those fingers… and get the hell off my ship.
Mara
Waking me up from hyper sleep was just plain rude. Making me fight for my life was pretty inconsiderate. But attempting to steal my fellow humans off my ship? This alien crossed a line.

It doesn’t matter if he makes me laugh. Or that there’s a softie under that big, hard exterior. Not to mention his cotton candy flavored tongue. Oh, and his… is… mmhmm. Ahem. I won’t let X and his army destroy my people, nor my mission to save them.

So, why am I helping him? And why is X saying he will protect me, that he wants me? Despite everything, I feel safe around him. Needed by him.

Nope. It doesn’t matter what X says. He’s the bad guy. And I need to stop him. The future of humanity is on this ship, and I will do anything to protect them. Anything.

And while the ship is a complete Karen, she doesn’t deserve to be blown up, either.

X
Get in. Get the lifeforms. Get out. This mission was supposed to be easy. But the little creature changed all that.

Captain Mara is clever. Too clever. Even though she doesn’t understand me, she is always two steps ahead.

She makes me question everything. My loyalty to my brothers. My mating urges. She has even given me a name.

I have never hated a creature more. But I yearned for her even more.

My suit goes haywire at her touch. I can’t hold back. I want to protect her. To make her smile. It is our fate to travel the stars together.

She will be mine. No matter what I have to sacrifice. She is my Mara. Mine.

If only she’d stop stabbing me.

I was so happy I found this short novella with some Sci-Fi spice! Although it is always a bit confusion when an author using Dual Point of View but maintains speaking in the third person, it was still manageable in this case thankfully! (Reason for the 4/5 stars)

Giving the FMC a back story as to why she reacts the way she does and what matters most to her being present throughout the entire plot really did make me want to continue reading. The romance was certainly an enemies to lovers and some conflict certainly does occur but a somewhat of a HEA is present which made me very happy I was able to finish this in one day- I can say with certainty if I would have spanned this book for a couple of days, there are some plot twists and points where you worry for both of our main characters!

Spicy scenes were lovely and perfectly thought out that matches the main characters well and their thought process being explained was a great add on! This book really covered everything and didn’t leave much to be desired so I’m satisfied and believe you will be too!

Also, so glad I read the notes and forward at the beginning- love the authors personal touch!

Not Very Exciting . . .

Captain Mara is awakened from hyper sleep as her ship and its cargo of humans is attacked by X and his brothers. She is not pleased to have an attraction toward X. He plans to make her his. She feels safe with him. But since he is the bad guy, she knows she needs to stop him.

This story line is kind of peculiar. There is little character development, and the things we are told are not all that memorable either. I feel there are attempts at humor, but again nothing noteworthy.

Different unique

This is a new author for me and I found this story to be strange and weird. It was very different as far as the description of the alien and his suit, things happened too fast to keep up and there was not enough detail explaining just what kind of alien x was and who Mara's parents were. And why didn't she smuggle her child on her own ship? Much didn't really make sense however it was weird enough to be an interesting story because u want to see what happens. Wasn't very realistic either.

Burning hot adventure. I am looking forward to more of this universe because I really enjoyed this story but I have more questions than answers and want to know what else happens!
Mara is woken by the ships AI Karen to respond to an emergency. Can she defend herself and protect her people? Will the Guardian Scout X fulfill his mission or will the feisty female that's fighting so hard destroy him?.

Captain Mara (h) is unexpectedly awoken from hyper sleep when her ship and its precious human cargo is attacked by X (H) and his brothers. Mara must deal with her troublesome ship and X, all while she battles the attraction building X and herself. Some fun humorous interactions and sexy, fun times as Mara and X must work together to save the human cargo. Entertaining little novella, definitely appreciate the humorous touches.

This is my 1st read read review for this author and I found that I enjoyed this story but it needs a bit of work with the characters like knowing more about their pasts and their now because we don’t find out much about them at all. All in all this is an entertaining short story and I would like to see where this author goes from here and I recommend this book.

Alien Enemy?

Mara is the captain of a space vessel carrying a lot of humans, they are in stasis. Mara was awakened when a threat arises. Aliens board the ship. There is one among them that has an instant attraction for her. What will happen? There is way more going on.

This was weird and didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. The spice was good but the dialogue and inner monologue was weird and felt like it was trying to be in third person or something at times. I will not be reading another in the series.

This book felt like it needed to be twice just as long to explain what the heck was happening. And the ending wasn't even HFN, it was quite abrupt.

My tempting alien

I truly do not like giving poor reviews but this book was hard to read, understand and very disjointed. And there really is NO story.

tempting alien

A good story but ouch that cliffhanger. Minus a star because there are also some typos and errors that got annoying.
