Under a Cold Moon is the extraordinary true story of a man that devasted two worlds. A killer that used the chump card as his cover for two brutal murders. His first victim lay under the rocks for fifteen nights. His second lay under the dirt for sixty-one. Two women. One spurned slayer.
In this cold tale, the author exposes the dark secrets of a man that stalked older women. Latham weaves this story from an insider's window. A writer that was in the thick of things and interviewed the man behind these two cataclysmic homicides.
Tony Latham grew up hankering to be a game warden like his great uncle Hawley Hill in the 1950s and ’60s. His first career involved chasing wildfires in the interior of Alaska. (He claims to have caught one once.) After his fire career Tony spent 22 years pursuing wildlife thieves both in and out of uniform with Idaho Fish and Game.
Tony is very thorough in his investigation of the events surrounding Nancy’s murder. I connected immediately to this book because I worked as the bailiff in the case. Nancy’s murder will never be forgotten. She was an anchor for her family and deeply loved and respected by her community. This is a well written accounting of two murder cases…one in Idaho and one in Colorado.
If you like true crime books, you will certainly enjoy this one. It is very well written to keep you fully engaged with both the people involved, and the ins and outs, frustrations and successes of the investigative process. An excellent book about the amazing dedication of ordinary law enforcement officers, dealing with very strange and troubled people who sometimes commit terrible and tragic crimes in the most unlikely of places.
Very well written documentary about a murder case, which was eventually connected to another in Colorado. Easy to read story that carries the reader to an interesting conclusion.
Wow. The guy is crazy like a fox. Someday I hope he mans up and confesses to the murder. It’s time we start making criminals pay for their crimes. Stop giving them labels and excuses for their behavior.
