The New York Times–bestselling author discusses her crime-solving hacker heroine, “surely one of the genre’s oddest and most interesting creations” (Chicago Tribune).
When the NYPD detective and sociopath known simply as Mallory made her series debut, John Sandford called her “one of the most interesting new characters to come along in years.” A homeless wild child who was taken in by a New York City cop and grew up to follow in his footsteps, she possesses a skill set—including a talent for computer hacking—that allows her to track down her prey like no one else. In this insightful essay, author Carol O’Connell shares fascinating insights about her origins, her psychology, and her strikingly different sense of right and wrong.
“Mallory is not your usual plucky and generally wholesome mystery solver. Jane Marple would probably cross the street to avoid making eye contact with her.” —The Washington Post Book World
“Mallory is a marvelous creation.” —Jonathan Kellerman, New York Times–bestselling author of the Alex Hunter novels
A cute little ebook providing some character analysis of my favourite fictional character #kathymallory from #caroloconnell I wish there was a new book every year or at least more updates of when we can expect the next book.
Wonderful. A no apology profile of my favourite female detective, the complex Mallory. I have read nearly all of the books featuring her and can recommend them wholeheartedly. This excellent description of her by God, well, her creator, is a joy to read. I have grown to Love Mallory, not that she would care, but I find I like Carol O'Connell very much too. This does not always follow. You can love the art and hate the artist. She speaks of views I share too. I am in awe of her creation. Get the books and join the converted.
In this character bio and purpose for writing author Carol O Connell delivers a great insight into crime fiction writing and her philosophy for doing it With no punches held as to why she does it and her character does it I must say at this review I haven't read her books & purchased this ebook because it was free and have become intrigued by the author's honesty and style I will be getting one of Mallory books
A very short explanation of the character Kathleen Mallory which also compares her (blonde, tall) to the author (short, not blonde) who wrote numerous books revolving around Mallory, my favorite book character.
