Two murders, hundreds of miles apart with identical a foul-smelling vagrant slits the throat of an innocent bystander and then puts the knife to their own flesh. Normally, the FBI wouldn’t be called in for such cases, given that they’re already technically ‘solved’. But as a favor, Special Agents Floyd Montgomery and Tate Abernathy head to Columbus to investigate the first of two murder-suicides. What they find is disturbing, beyond the details of the individual crimes. The murders have more in common than just their MO. And when Agent Chase Adams arrives on the scene, things go from bizarre to downright disturbing. That’s before she becomes the target of a killer who just may, or may not, be already dead.

True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.
More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.
After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.
I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

The subject of this story goes beyond bizarre but it kept me hooked from beginning to end. If it does exist I've never heard of it but just thinking about it makes me cringe. Once again Chase takes advantage of people that care about her to get what she needs. She is so reactive and suffers the consequences afterwards. If she would stop going and doing things without telling anyone it would help, but then again that's part of the sum of it all isn't it? She definitely has nine lives. I like the intro of Floyd's new partner Tod. He's quite the character and he's good for Floyd. I forgot how young Floyd is. It explains his reactions to some issues he has but he's slowly coming into his own. The epilogue is also very interesting??? I can't contine with this series because I can't find the last 2 books in this series - have they been published? Does anyone know where to find them? So, I'm moving onto another PL series - Dr. Beckett Campbell. He's one of my fav characters after reading Detective Damien Drake and I need to find out what the hell happened to Beckett.
So far I've enjoyed all of the Chase Adams books, however, the one thing that keeps me from giving them each a 5 star review is that I've become a little disappointed with the ongoing rogue and often reckless actions of our heroine. While I appreciate her human side, she's still a smart and well trained woman. So when her character gets a little too reckless the story frustrates me. I won't get into detail as I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but some of her recklessness simply isn't in tune with her intellect and abilities. That aside, I have really enjoyed the ride these books have taken me on. I really enjoy the character crossovers from the Damien Drake series - it's like keeping in touch with old friends. I hope the next two Chase Adams releases are as enjoyable (and hopefully more so) than the first nine!
Another good book in series. Full of suspense and a real page turner. I just get tired of Chase and her attitude. It's getting annoying. If the mystery and suspense of the story wasn't so good I probably wouldn't read anymore. She's just too much. I like Floyd but let's be real he would never make it as a real agent. It's probably time for new characters.
I love the characters, all the different nuances. The twists and turns. Once you get started you won't put it down. And don't even get me started on the ending. WTF
Omg I just can't stop reading this series! I honestly can't wait to finish the series but at the same time I'm going to miss spending the afternoon with Chase. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Crap, what the hell is going on with Chase? I know that she's usually got a plan legal or not, she's very close to the edge. Like having her smart ass niece, keeping her in line. Floyd getting his own groove going, like him working with Abernathy the dynamic duo. Ok bring it on with Direct Evidence.
