What if saving our world means destroying another?
Alora’s brain has always been a little strange. No matter how hard things on Earth got, and they got pretty awful, she always dreamt that she possessed amazing telekinetic powers on another world. Her brother called them her delusions of grandeur.
But when things start to go unbelievably well on Earth—hot guys asking her out and her brother landing a terrific job—everything falls apart in her dream world. As people she’s seen in her dreams begin to appear on Earth, Alora fears that the two worlds may in fact be connected.
And that’s bad.
Because according to a prophecy in her dreams, she’s the only one who can save their world. At first it made no sense, but she’s beginning to think that she’ll have to choose. If they can’t both continue, which world should she save, and which world will have to burn?
I loved the Anchored series! The world building, magic systems, the twists, the characters, amd the most epic love triangle!! ...ugh all so amazing. If you like split worlds/realms, stories that pull on your heart strings, love triangles (but also soul mates), and magic then grab it! Also the audio is fantastic 👌🏻
Bridget E. Baker’s The Anchored Series is an enthralling saga that ensnared my imagination with its vivid storytelling and indomitable heroine, Alora. I found myself utterly captivated by her journey, a masterful blend of heart-pounding adventure and poignant emotional depth. Alora’s struggle to reconcile her ordinary life with her extraordinary destiny unfurls with such finesse that each page brims with anticipation. Baker’s narrative is a tapestry of suspense and sentiment, rendered in prose that resonates with lyrical intensity. Initially, I questioned whether the series could sustain its allure without devolving into predictable patterns or exhausting its premise. To my delight, Baker defies such concerns, crafting each volume with inventive twists and escalating stakes that keep the story invigorating. Alora’s fierce resilience and the intricate interplay of her relationships—particularly with those closest to her—anchor the narrative, ensuring it never loses its emotional potency. If there’s a minor imperfection, it’s that some side characters occasionally beg for deeper exploration, a small quibble in an otherwise stellar work. The Anchored Series is a testament to Baker’s narrative ingenuity, delivering unadulterated joy while challenging the conventions of its genre. It’s a rare gem that marries intellectual stimulation with sheer entertainment, leaving me eager for more. For anyone seeking a fantasy that both thrills and moves, this series is an unequivocal triumph.
What an incredible story and in this amazing deal of a book box no waiting necessary because believe me having to wait between books for them to finally come out was excruciating. The Anchored series is something different that stands out. If you are a lover of fiction and fantasy this will be your perfect next read. Alora and her brother Jesse are orphans. Alora, unlike other people, has a brain that functions differently. Whenever she falls asleep, she lands inside a world where she has special powers. During one of her dreams, she learns that she is the key to keeping the world stable. As much as anyone loves their sibling do you think Jesse will believe this story or will he finally change his mind and think she has gone insane?
This is probably my favorite fantasy/new world building series by Bridget E. Baker. Every person needs an anchor in life and without this anchor we are just floating around in the universe. This story develops the power of your anchor and how your perspective will change if you and your anchor are not aligned.
It was too easy to mistake fiction for reality in this series. Not because I believe in the otherworldly powers, but because the characters felt so true. Action, pain, love, and loyalty infuse the stories. Worth the hours of reading.
