How many times can one person be kidnapped in their life?
After the betrayal of my best friend, I find myself on kidnapping number three, but it soon becomes clear that the fates have more planned for me.
Apparently, just letting me adapt to six alpha shifter mates while navigating a relationship with my estranged fathers isn’t enough. No, why leave it there when they can throw in some more mates, a blast from my past, nefarious hunters, and unveil secrets that shatter my world?
One shock after another forces me to learn to depend on others, but I’ve spent my entire adult life only depending on myself.
They say you can’t teach old dogs new tricks. Let’s hope that saying doesn’t relate to omegas too.
Restoring Their Trust is book two in The Lost Therian Omega series, which must be read in order, and will end on a cliffhanger. This is a paranormal why-choose romance, meaning the main character will not have to choose between love interests. This book is suitable for readers 18+ due to content including but not limited to explicit language, sexual scenes, MM. This series does contain sensitive content. Your mental health is essential, and a full list of warnings will be at the front of the book. Please read these first.
I honestly can not wait for the next book. This series just keeps on getting better. That cliffhanger at the end though... Still recommend you read this book
I had been completely blown away by the first book in this trilogy, so I had high expectations going into Restoring Their Trust. I was very pleased with the result. It was a perfect continuation of the story and added so much to make the wait for the third book absolute agony.
It had a bit of a clunky start with so much going on and multiple shifts in POV in only a few chapters. Thankfully, Aisling supplied a Character Recap that I was able to go back and repeatedly reference until I was once again caught up with all the characters, and the plot smoothed into a less frantic pace. I highly enjoyed the multiple 1st Person POVs, especially from people outside of the major players. It helped to add some additional depth to the story that we would have missed otherwise. And introduced some new players…
This is one of the larger harems/packs I have read in some time, and I really like how Aisling works out the different relationships within the pack and how Kya interacts with each of her mates. Kya has individual time with each mate, building their relationships s3xually and emotionally with shared interests. I loved how she wrote individual scenes between Kya and her mates, especially the most intimate of moments, the mating bite. Aisling also does a great job with the group scenes, as there are only so many holes that can be filled at a time. As in the first book, there is MM in this book too.
One of my favorite parts about this story is consent! Before her heat fully took, one of Kya’s mates asked for her consent to do what they needed to do to fulfill her needs. But, more than anything, the biggest on-page group scene did not occur during her heat but while she was completely coherent.
That cliffhanger ending, however…dang, girl! Book three cannot get here soon enough. There is so much I need to know!
More spice, more action and more twists than The first book and I absolutely devoured it. I'm gutted I have to wait for book 3 but I know it'll be worth it.
Loving this series. This one started off a little wonky with changing POVs every few pages as the action happened. Plus the last book ended on a cliffhanger that showed something huge was about to happen to get them out of the situation they were in and then this one shot that down immediately. It then proceeded to show a bunch of infighting and arguing about unimportant things while they're all trying to escape.
I would never choose these guys as my backup in dire situations. And honestly if you're trying to break out, screaming at someone that's about to break out of their restraints to not break out is really dumb. Anyway...
Some of the arguing was so unbelievable too, like we're supposed to believe that in a room full of fighting shifters, three of them stop and have a couple's spat in the middle that spans a few pages?? And then they remember oh yeah, our people are fighting for their lives while we've been standing here.....
I also don't understand what deal she made with the fae in the beginning. It was so that they all made it out safely, but then he did nothing when the fighting began??? Or was it just so that he'd stand down and be on their side? He protected her friend after she asked, but that wasn't what the deal was, so what was the point? That isn't clear.
Other than all that, this one was cute in that she had time with each of her alphas separately to grow closer. I still feel like they don't know each other well, but months are passing by with only a few mentions here and there so bonding is happening off the page too.
Annoyingly there's OW drama, and while it was as ridiculous as you'd expect, I like the way the FMC responded to it each time.
We're introduced to a new character that I'm excited to hear more about in the next book.
Lots happened in this book (deaths, pack restructuring, etc) but also lots of nothing happens while things behind the scenes are hinted at that will soon come to light. It ends on another cliffhanger.
Maybe it’s me or maybe it’s the book but these characters are just so irritating.
The book picks up where it left off and finally, FINALLY! one of her alphas actually challenges the head alpha - a bit late like but good effort I suppose. We meet another of her mates - yes it’s ANOTHER alpha and at first he blathers on about earning her trust and forgiveness and then about 3 pages later he’s so cocksure she’ll forgive him and mate with him because MATE MARKS - yeah just another guy that’s not emotionally developed. SUCH FUN, not. Where’s the wooing, they alpha protectiveness, the touch her and die vibe?? These guys are all half arsed and only ‘protective’ when she’s around friends, I’m not routing for any of them as they’re just so crappy.
Kyla at this point clearly has forgiven all but river & fjord - when they’ve not particularly done anything to deserve it except give her a bunch of pet names meaning little, okay we get it she’s little!! But she’s not really at 5ft 7 🙄 also what does Kyla look like she’s little and has purple hair, that’s it. As the books gone on I’m increasingly frustrated with Kyla, she shows no self awareness and the suspicious and paranoid behaviour she’s always had is present exactly nowhere in these books - she has zero manners towards people and clearly can’t handle a conversation without being sarcastic - she’s not a badass she’s a doormat and rude.
I’m not enjoying the story, the writing or the characters so I won’t be finishing this series, just like the authors previous series there’s too much stuff but not enough at the same time. You have 10 POVS from characters you don’t care about, and things happening but you don’t care because there’s zero chemistry between mates and everything just feels rushed.
"They failed you. We failed you. I failed you. I have a lot to make up for, Banphrionsa, and I plan to start by ensuring you'll be safe and living in a pack with an Alpha who actually cares about you and your best interests. An Alpha who, although stubborn and sometimes puts his foot in his mouth, would set the world on fire and gift you the moon if you asked."
Aisling Cousins is, without a doubt, becoming one of my absolute favorite authors. Every book she writes has wonderful characters who seem to jump out of the pages and become real people with all the strengths and weaknesses that make them truly "human". She uses known tropes and gives them a surprising twist creating truly original stories that seem to flow as if she's been writing for two hundred years. She could probably write a book filled with all the tropes I don't like and still make me want to give it a six star rating...
"Restoring Their Trust" is the second book in the "Lost Therian Omega" series and picks up right where the first book ended. It is filled with action, relationship building and some unexpected surprises along the way, and I absolutely dreaded the ending of the book getting near while reading. Multiple new characters are introduced in this series, and it only means more people to love and care for as a reader. I'm really hoping to see some of these side characters again in other series in the future, or find out more about the fae world, or ... Let's be honest: I'm probably just hoping for a lot more books from this author, no matter what they're about!
I loved the idea of this series. However, the execution just didn't do it for me. Maybe it's partly me, I have been in a bit of a book slump recently and haven't been finishing a lot of books.
I just felt like the fmc wasn't very relatable. I found her to be kind of annoying. Like, she literally is terrified of being with her fated mates, but then going out of her way to spend time with them, yet still not being honest? Her fathers literally made her mates kidnap her? And then she wasn't allowed out of the house for weeks? Her fathers were complete idiots frankly and sounded like they were no better than her mom's fated mate to be honest. Her mates seemed weak to me, and they didn't try hard enough to do right by her. But then like... she is totally forgiving even after her trauma and beliefs with mates?
Then they all get kidnapped because AGAIN her fathers are apparently idiots. How did her fathers run a pack for so long? But no worries because she still seems to care about her fathers, until one of them is literally killed? And then it's like it didn't happen? And her other father is feral and missing. But whatever... she has a new mate so that's fine.
And when there was a huge fight going on the fmc was just having conversations in the middle of it like nothing was happening...
Literally there was just no character that I liked...
I thought that the lure of my favorite "character names", ones I love to see used.in books, would be enough to make it worth reading but....
Since I struggled through book one, I thought to skim this book before starting it.. And, no.
I am just not interested in it.
If the first book had hinted to what the second book implies, then MAYBE I could have.read it but, it didn't and so...
Read the reviews below.
Concentrate on the one and two star HONEST reviews. They know what I am talking about. I honestly wish I had read those BEFORE reading book one. I wouldn't have wasted.my time.
In case you were wondering, for the ppl that like to recommend books to me, my obsession names, the ones that tend to tempt me into read A book are: Knox, River, Axel, Lucian, Damien, Kota or Dakota, Sebastian, Michael, Jackson to name a few.
And those.of you who read.book one, can clearly see why it tempted me, or rather.lured me into reading it....
If not for the addition of Tilly (A female!), or the 4-5-9 character, I may have.stuck around...
Sooo. I love the story itself and the while premise, so I am invested and for sure will be reading the next book.
That being said, it could be so much more... one huge gripe I have, as with so many RH reads with large harems, is the lack of character building. There is just not enough to differentiate between the different mates. Their personalities mostly just blend together and we simply never really get to know them. Cripe we know her brothers better than we know most of her mates. I have really only seen large harems done well maybe 3 times. Once you get past 4 or 5 partners, there is just not enough there. Also, with this most authors can't seem to do the steamy scenes without a whole lot of confusion. And in this case there are often details missing in many of the scenes. Next, I still have huge issue with the seeming personality swap of our lead. She literally became a completely different person in a matter of what 2 months. Went against everything her personality had been based on. Those are my two largest issues. I do not care to list off all the smaller ones.
As already stated I do love the story and will absolutely be continuing, I just wish it was more......
This was my first series by Aisling Cousins and it was a unique read. Packs need an omega if not everyone no matter their status will go feral. I don’t think I’ve read an omega verse like that before and it was interesting. I really enjoyed Kya and her mates and the storyline. The conflict was throughout the series which kept me on my toes. While I did enjoy this series I think it needs a bit of polishing in some spots to make it flow better. Other than that I flew through this series. I liked the dynamic of Kya and her mates and how they underestimated her in the beginning. She is a force to be wrecked with. Usually, when I read omegaverses the female/omega is soft which is why I love them but Kya was a fighter, she had to be and I did enjoy that switch up. The suspense in this series was good as well. It was an action-packed book with fighting and I love a good fight scene. Plus, this series has humour scattered throughout, it has a Nan who had tears rolling down my face with stuff she said. I think this is a great series if you are looking for a shifter RH KU. I can’t wait to see what else Aisling does with this universe because she hinted and more and with how it ended I have a feeling about who it will be about.
Restoring Their Trust is book 2 in The Lost Therian Omega series. It’s a paranormal, why choose romance. This book started with the action and didn’t stop! There was so much going on and the excitement built right from get go. This story had it all: action, smutty times, emotional moments and relationship building. I like that the author recaps characters for us to be sure that we’re right back and invested in this pack. Kya’s character is developing and evolving. She has had to be independent, relying only on herself for so long. But she’s slowly opening up to the new possibilities that having those who love and want to protect and cherish you brings. The men of the pack are evolving and learning how to deal with their feelings for Kya and dealing with other alphas in the pack. Fjord is a great addition to her alphas and he’s quickly becoming my favourite. Restoring Their Trust is funny, action packed, emotional read with lots of surprises and twists I didn’t see coming. And that cliffhanger…. Can’t wait to read on in the series!!
This was everything I expected it to be! Spicy, hilarious, relationship building, and character growth especially for Kya!
So many things happened this book, a couple that threw me off guard and I literally said “holy fuck. 😳”
I knew Fjord was going to be a favorite, I wasn’t expecting him to be so sweet and accommodating honestly. I expected a harshness to him and difficulty to find his place within the group, but nope! Babe surprised me. Also, I absolutely swooned when he checked on Ryder (who I’m currently mad at) and Brooks. 😍😍
I’m so so proud of Kya. After years of only relying on herself, she’s finally understanding the benefits of being in a pack and taking the helping hands her mates are offering. She’s also slowly sliding into her Omega instincts, while it’s a uncomfortable change for her, I can’t wait to see how she does in the next book!
I can’t waaaaait to hear about this new alpha 👀 also, that cliffy? Downright hurtful! 😂
This second book in the series was enchanting. I loved the newly added pov mate, it broke my heart reading his inner thoughts about the torture he’s been through. It shocked me when I learned of several characters that are discussed in the series. I wasn’t fond of how easily she accepted the wrong doings of her closet friend. I feel like there should have been more feelings of processing, betrayal then moving to the natural conclusion of forgiving. Actually there was a few moments that was similar. Otherwise the story flowed so naturally that it was easy to follow along. It was seamless in moving from pov to what was going on in the book. When this one came out I re read the first one so I would be up to date but I didn’t need too. The introduction had a description of each character as well as how they were related to the fmc. I loved this! I think this should be a “must” when writing multiple books in a series. Can’t wait to read the next one!
“Don’t argue. You’re independent. I know that, but you don’t have to do everything alone. You don’t have to put on a mask with me or the others. We’re your mates. If you can’t trust us to catch you when you fall, then we’re doing a sh*tty job.”
Kya is back with her mates though the numbers are growing as she picks up some extra’s. In this book we see Kya learning that she doesn’t have to be as closed off and independent, that she can lean on her mates to help. And her mates — well they are finally learning that Kya is no fragile flower.
We discover more heinous plans against the pack and the shifter world that are only just starting to unfold. I’m looking more into discovering what this will bring in the next book.
The spice level in this book is cranked up as Kya claims more of her mates. We have some group sessions, MM action, overfilling holes, primal play — we get down and dirty in this book!
A great continuation to the series I can’t wait for the next one!
I was hoping that we would see some course corrections with this follow up but this author dropped the ball so hard it’s not even funny. For starters the conversations in the middle of important moments like for instance trying to get away from being kidnapped. The author wants us to believe that in the middle of a fight when the pack omega is killed everyone stops to have a chat and the Fae asks about Tilly. Or that our main protagonist’s son is her mate. Or that these men from this pack raped the MC’s mom for years and now that she is possibly facing the same fate she is taking the time to ask questions about her being pack omega in the middle of a rescue attempt. Like this book isn’t just an unrealistic mess it’s also so frustrating because the premise had so much potential.
The fact that Aisling includes a character recap with bits about each character and things that have happened in the previous book, makes me so happy. This type of recap should be mandatory in all series because my chaotic brain needs it!
Fjord is my new book boyfriend, I am 100% sold on him, well him and River (don't come at me for that, I know he's an ass, but he's a hot ass).
One thing I did struggle with was the amount of POV's, it was a little too much for me. There are a lot of members in the harem, so POV's from even more people outside of it is too much for my brain to handle. This being said, I'm really hoping that Tilly gets her own book.
🐾 Large Harem 🐾 Multiple types of shifters 🐾 Omega 🐾 Spice 🐾 Fated Mates
🔞 18+ read due to explicit content and dark themes. Content warning can be found at the beginning of the book.
I really like a lot of the elements of this book, the shifters being so varied, Kya being a Therian shifter (that's a new concept that is interesting), the suspense of the villains plotting and actions, and the collection of fated mates. I also love that Kya is an Omega that is fiercely independent and strong, not the typical damsel in distress. Kya also has some pretty sexy mates but my one big complaint in the series is that sometimes I have to go back to the beginning of the chapter to see who's pov it is because some of the guys personalities are very similar. This is not enough to dissuade me from continuing the series though, as I am really caught up in the story and very interested in seeing how everything plays out. Also, that cliffhanger.....aaaaahhhhhhh!!!
Kidnappings. Hunters. Mates and more mates. Fate has big plans for Kya. First, she must learn she is no longer alone and responsible for carrying the entire world on her own.
This story is entertaining but the author makes some odd choices with her storytelling. There are oddly placed conversations, characters acting 'out of character' and making dumb decisions, and broken plot lines. There is not enough character-building surrounding the men. With a harem, this large, singling out time for each character and developing the character and the individual relationships is vital. This book largely settles for the 'we all adore you' approach. It's hard to remember whose POV I'm reading without going back to check at times. Also, writing sex scenes is not the author's strong point. However, there's plenty of action and twists, and I love the Therian aspect.
I adore Fjord! You aren't sure where he stands in the beginning, but he quickly makes his feelings for Kya known, and I loved it. River tries to make things up to Kya, and he's definitely getting there. Tilly's actions from the first book were a disappointment, but I'm holding out hope she's learned from her mistakes and will do better going forward. It appears she realizes how badly she messed up, and maybe she and Kya can be close again eventually. There's a mysterious addition to the equation, and I'm excited to see how he fits into the puzzle of Kya's large harem. lol Gimme the next one, please!
Wow! This second book was soooo good! I had the lovely privilege of beta reading this and it did not disappoint. We pick up after the epic cliffhanger from the first book and we are brought back to the Jameson Pack after Tilly has sold her out to them. Honestly, I was pissed at Tilly but it seems that there may have been other things happening to her. This was action packed and we saw some of Kya's mates get their heads out of their butts. We are introduced to a new character and I can't wait to see how this story develops and again we were left with an epic cliffhanger. I'm eager for the next book!
Restoring Their Trust by Aisling Cousins is the second book in The Lost Therian Omega series. This picks up right where book one left off. And it starts off with lots of action! I enjoyed this because we got to see Kya really start to open up and really trust all her mates. Lots of hot, spicy, smexy times. Lots of new things happen and will be happening. What a ride! Some TW to look for. It does end with a cliff hanger - a boy oh boy - it's a big one! Looking forward to book three. Really looking forward to seeing where Kya and her mates end up!
I loved this continuation. It was absolutely amazing and I can't believe those twists!! I could not put this down! This book kept me on my toes and was completely packed full of so much action! This was so worth the wait and I'm so mad but so excited that I have to wait for the next one. Aisling Cousin's writing takes you on a such a crazy journey and I can't wait to see how Kya and her men get out of this! The twists make your brain hurt because of how crazy they are, but it's amazing and so worth the craziness. I can't wait for the next one and I definitely recommend Aisling's series!!!

Wow, so much happens in this book as the story of Kya and her fated mates continues. Between challenges, betrayals, kidnapping and finding more fated mates, the action is non stop. There is plenty of spice as the claimed mates grow in number, and yet there is still another waiting in the wings! I loved how protective the men all are of Kya, and how she is so protective of her brothers as well. She slots into the family so well. Another great read, ending on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
I really loved the recap that Aisling included at the start of the book. I always forget who is who so it's great to have this.
I am a bit sad that Kya will never get to know her dad's more but the reason behind it was written wonderfully.
I enjoy the many POVs but what I did struggle with was I would forget whose POV I was reading. I feel that if there was perhaps their name included at the top of each page so that it was easier to remember.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Yes girlie this is such an epic series already! It is a must read at least for me. Since this is book 2 read book 1 first before picking this one up. It has all the ingredients, omegaverse, shifter, whychoose. And what is nice is you need to keep track with the POV's but I love that personally. I also loved the recap of the previous story just to get into the story again with rereading the whole book. I do that sometimes though. Also love that the harem is pretty big and I for one can't wait for book 3.
I loved loved loved this book! Kya is such a strong badass character who doesn’t compromise herself for anyone. Her pack is just as awesome. I appreciate how even though there are so many characters the author gives the reader equal time with all in a way that doesn’t take away from the story. That isn’t easy to do in RH romances with large harems. This book has a couple big twists that I didn’t see coming and the cliffhanger was brutal. Can’t wait for the next book to get here!
I received an ARC of this book. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
The nicknames are cringey af. Eight is a lot of dudes, and I feel like when the harem is so large... you don't end up knowing anyone that well and this book flows with that line of thinking. It doesn't stop them from having all the sex, though half the time I don't remember which guy she's talking about... they all just run together. I was hoping it would be as plot driven as the first book, because that's why I bought the second. I found the plot riveting, but this was just fluff and nothingness. It's flimsy and smutty, which is fine, but it's not great.
The premise is good the story is going downhill. It makes no sense for them to continually , quarel with each other to mate with flc. Every other page is all of the alphas bickering back and forth which brings the story down. And makes the author look dumb, because she can' t come up with something else to write about. I'm finished. Good luck to other readers who can stick it out. All this book did for me,was how not to get wrapped up in supplying filler words to get to the end of the paragraph, page or chapter.
