Living in a lighthouse as a child led me early to a love of reading. Despite what you may have been told the life of a lighthouse keeper's son is not all Glamour and Parties. There's a lot of time when there really isn't much to do besides wonder if the fog horn has finally made you deaf or watch your dad pull fishing lures out of different parts of people's bodies. (You'd be amazed!)
Two of my favorite houses growing up!
I read. I read a lot. We had a 'reading caterpillar' around the room at my school where every time you read a book you put your name on your color paper and hung it up. The teacher had to give me two colors because it was looking more like a worm than a caterpillar. I devoured CS Lewis before moving on to Tolkien. Reading has continued to be a big part of my life. I've moved into Alternative Realities by guys like Stirling and my guilty pleasure is Zombie novels. I can't seem to get enough of them!
I like reading about the extremes people will go to to survive. The ones who can rise above the rest and keep their sense of right and wrong. When humanity crumbles around them these flawed heroes stand tall and try to make their way. They go from struggling to pay the phone bill to struggling to keep themselves and others alive. I like to see how this either hardens or breaks them. I think these stories speak at a very primal level. I enjoy the journey greatly as I get to tag along seeing how the survivors manage and how the experience forges them into something more than they were.
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
I continue to enjoy this series. The narration is great. I can’t talk about much as it will give away what happens in the first book. There are new and interesting spins with the people our characters meet and jabbing to be quarantined at every turn is a well thought out reality that a lot of zombie books don’t touch on. I look forward to the next book where I’ll be able to talk about it even less lol listen to the books if you like zombie lit. Only negative was that it left me wanting more!! Sorta stopped abruptly. Now I really need book 3!
A secret cabal of vampire master geneticists had decided they’d rather let humanity go extinct than bother leveraging the cure to the virus to rule over them, so they releave a mutated form of virus in vaccinations turning people into fast zombies. But one man is immune and turned into a partial vampire. Escaping with his friends and aided by a vampire he races to find sanctuary and complete his change before being killed.
This product s Book two of the Exploited Blood Book Series :The turned
This series has been one crazy 🤪😧 ride and I'm here for it . This series hit all the buttons for me the intrigue the suspense the gore fest the hopelessness not to mention the humor . You would think that with such a Gorey story that the humor would not fit but it works big time . I'm so invested in these characters especially our main protagonist Chris I'm so excited to see what happens next.
After book one I couldn't wait to continue the journey with Chris, Ortega, Jensen & Sampson. Now I'm having to wait till January... for the next installment of this creative story line. 🙁
I read the first book in this series ages ago and then missed the follow up books 😖 first was brilliant and this one has been even better! Can't comment any more as I need to get book 3!
In most cases book 2,3 on are not as gripping. Well let me tell you, That is not true with book 2. It is just as good if not a bit better. I am ready for book 3. I am excited to start reading book3. Tell you about it later.
It's not the same as the first one ,but it was nonetheless none stop. The story was good and kept the characters moving. I enjoyed every second of it. The main character, Chris was more surprised than anyone how fast he changed.
I enjoyed it a lot. Lots of action with plenty of blood and guts thrown in. The characters are interesting and funny. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Much better than the first book which was kind of slow and dragged with the dialogue. This was much faster with more realistic dialogue between characters. I finally thought the main character, Chris, might deserve to survive. I also learned and got to appreciate the other characters. Now I am a little hooked and have already begun book 3.
As good as the first, Chris gets into new adventures.
***** WARNING: SPOILER ALERT! ***** - - - - - The reason I gave only four stars is that I feel like mostly any new characters are only there to serve as fodder canon... hard to get attached and feel “the lost” when there's a hard probability that they won't make it to the next book...
