I was trying to learn more about acupuncture to understand my own experience with it. This is written in a nice engaging style and is easy to understand. Franglen comes across as an especially caring acupuncturist. Here, the acupuncturist dives into treating the whole person in a big way, including their psychic dilemmas. This is nothing like the treatment I received, where most things are determined by pulse and tongue and a very brief conversation. Maybe five element acupuncture is a specialized type of acupuncture? In any case, a short and informative read.

I used to think acupuncture was grounded in science but after reading this I have changed my mind completely. The book spews a ton of woo, like for instance saying how different elements such as fire, water, earth, etc have an impact on your body's energy flow, etc. There is nothing remotely scientific in the least about anything mentioned here. But I guess it does what the title says: gives you a good overview of what "five element acupuncture" is.

Good book to understand The five elements theory

Good book, simple and easy to read for inexperienced acupuncturist. But not enough not enough practical cases for advanced acupuncturist.
Must read if you starting your career.
