Dark Elves of Protheka #3

Stolen by the Dark Elf

Rate this book
The most I can aspire to in my life is to be someone else’s toy.

The best I can hope for is that I please whoever holds the title to my deed enough that I get to live another day. Although honestly, death would be a relief from my life most days.

All that changes when the Dark Elf, Thirion, steals me from the Orcs.

Does it matter though who owns me? Orc or Dark Elf – the outcome will be the same. I will desecrated for someone else’s enjoyment.

But Thirion seems…different.

He heals me. He soothes the scars from my past. He shows me how to be happy. And he does this with no malice. Because this Dark Elf wants a title over me that he cannot buy with coin or sword.

What title does he want, you ask?

Not Owner. But rather...Beloved.

Celeste King is the author behind the Worlds of Protheka, a collection of interconnected series that promise dark fantasy, intense romance, and washboard abs. When it comes to her stories, there are sure to brooding alphas, sassy humans, and plenty of spice to look forward to.

With the ever growing fantasy worlds, the 'what ifs' are endless, and that is what excites her the most. Even she doesn't know just how far these characters will go, but she's gladly along for the ride.

You can always find her fearlessly diving into an adventure (in this world or another), typically with her husband, and partner in crime, at her side.

She helps keep the excitement alive for the rest us with each of her Prothekan works, where there are no heroes coming to save you and being kidnapped...isn't so bad when your captor is this hot.

This book was amazing and I loved how the characters developed and grew with patience, kindness, trust, hot chemistry, passion and eventually love. Vanessa is a human on the planet Protheka and to stay they get treated badly is an understatement and to make it worse for her is her beauty because everyone wants her and now she has been stolen from the Orc’s by a Dark Elf who seems to be different from the others he heals her wounds inside and out with kindness, tenderness that has her waiting for it all to change because this is not how Dark Elves treat humans. Thirion is a Dark Elf and has had his eyes on the human beauty and has now stolen her away from the Orc’s that held her captive and treated her badly now that will all change, one because he has fallen in love with her and two a beauty like her needs to be cherished and kept safe and above all he hopes she will love him like he does her. How does it all turn out for these two in a world that can change in a blink of an eye and can Vanessa give her heart to Thirion and have the HEA they both want and need. There is so much more to this book other than our two love birds and if you want to know more get this must read book.

Thirion (H), a Dark Elf, has been set by his uncle to steal the human concubine of an Orc chieftain. He steals Vanessa (h) away only to find himself drawn to her, even as she seeks to keep her feeling in stow to prevent more hurt and pain that Dark Elves enjoy inflicting on their slaves - a pain she's experienced throughout her entire life. Thirion struggles to break through her barriers to get her to share something more with him than just an owner-slave relationship. Juts when they're making progress, Thirion breaks their fragile trust, and their future together is imperiled. The pair faces attacks and challenges they'll have to overcome as they strive to reach their HEA. I really enjoyed the way that the concept of trust seemed to be a key element - the couple had to develop a sense of trust in their relationship, Thirion had to learn to question his relationship with his uncle, and he had to trust in his friendship with Kezio over family. Like other books in the series, this book also looks at questioning the human-dark elf societal relationships and makes we want to read the next book!

I loved this book. Another great edition to the Dark Elves of Protheka. Great world building in this series, as the elves are very different from the other species- orcs and naga- featured in the other series. Wonderful characters. I liked that Thirion's personality was vastly different from the male protagonists in the previous books. He's old enough to be an adult but still has things to learn and have his mettle tested. Vanessa is an enslaved human and ends up with one terrible master after the next. Until she is stolen away by Thirion, who kidnaps her from the orcs. She knows not to trust dark elves and fights against Thirion taking her. Better the monster she knows than the one she doesn't. I loved watching them form a relationship neither expected and eventually falling in love. Excellent story. 5 stars.

Celeste King, I love these dark elves! Ok, I love the orcs too, I'm wrapping my head around the naga, and I'm anxiously waiting for those Minotaurs. Vanessa has been owned by dark elves, sold to orcs, and now stolen by another dark elf. But Thirion is different. When he sees her, he sees somebody, not a possession. He gives her choices, something she has never had. He gives her care, affection, and more. If you could fall in love with a dark elf, Thirion is the one. The book has great pace, well written characters, sizzle, steam, and some drama. All the many creatures of Protheka are available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited, so choose series for a binge read, and then another, and another.

Stolen by Thirion . . .

The story takes place in an environment where humans are treated as pets (although I would never be so abusive to a pet). Humans have no rights, no protection. They are owned and the owner can treat them however they choose to.

Vanessa has been shuffled around, owned by Dark Elves, owned by Orcs. One group is as bad as the other, so it makes little difference to her. But when the Dark Elf, Thirion, steals her from the Orcs, he is somehow different. When he saw her, he began to fall in love with her and would never give her up. He is gentle with her and heals her soul with his kindness. Can she trust that he will keep her with him always? Or is this just a dream that will be shattered once she wakens?

Thirion and Vanessa

When Vanessa has resigned herself to being the plaything of an orc she instead gets the most unlikely of saviors. Thirions uncle sent him on a mission to steal a beautiful human instead he finds the women he would do anything for. Where most dark elves a cruel thirion is an empath he can feel others emotions and its made him different. As much as Vanessa believes he is lying to her Thirion eventually breaks down her wall. Just when they should be getting their happy ever after Thirions uncle shows his true colors. Can this unlikely couple beat the odds. I am becoming a big fan of this world these books have amazing chachters you can't help but root for. Can't wait for the next book.

This was another enjoyable story in the Dark Elves series. Thirion our Dark Elf was a character I liked for a series that laid the groundwork (1st book) that the Elves treat humans harshly, but so did the Orc's in the beginning of her books. Our human Vanessa who got captured was a character I got behind as she discovers herself falling for Thirion. I found this an entertaining read that kept me flipping the pages as the story unfolded. The back story of Protheka and how the Elves are progressing is also interesting. The romance was steaming, the interactions and chemistry engaging between our H+h. I have been enjoying reading these books and look forward to reading more in this series.

Let me start by saying I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE DARK ELVES!!! Each couple is so unique and it really helps to keep things new and exciting within this series. Some romance series can get super dull after awhile because it's the same thing, but NOT these!

Thirion is definitely my new favorite Dark Elf, he is so sweet and fun to watch develop as a character. You really start to get emotionally attached to these people, and the saddest part about it is each book has to end. Each story is short enough to finish within a day or a weekend, which is nice if you want a quick punch of dark romance, but I would also love to see each of these develop into something bigger. I want more more more!

Stolen by the Dark Elf is another guaranteed exciting Fantasy Romance taking place within the world of Protheka. The author continues to expand with world building as a well written narrative brings the story of leads Thirion and Vanessa to fabulous life with the reader joining along as they traverse the path fate as chosen for them, which will not be an easy one.
Engaging and sensuous this was another highly addictive never boring, tug at the heart strings read.

One of the things I like the most is when our Lord realizes that our fragile little human has endured much more in her life than any of the other races have ever endured.
These women are strong survivors who adapt to the dire circumstances around them. And how nice it is when they find someone who is sensitive and smart enough to not only recognize her inner beauty but also her worth. And to fight for them! I loved it!.

Interesting series

When a human slave, Vanessa, is kidnapped by Orc's she's claimed by the Warlord of their camp.

She never expected to be rescued by Dark Elves, especially a noble man, Thirion, to use as a bargaining chip for his manipulative uncle. Thirion knows that lying to the beauty is wrong, but it's his only chance to inherit his legacy that his uncle has been running since his parents were killed.

But the more he gets to know Vanessa, he realizes that he can't give her up, no matter what.

An interesting read.

ok…

This one wasn’t as good as the first, the second was good but not as good as the first… now we are on ok. Honestly, I love me some good sex scenes but I’m surprised that we haven’t gotten more big picture development past all the elf guys falling for the human women… you got a cool world here, would love to see more political movement ideas within this world… having said that- I’ll still probably read the others it’s an overall pleasant read.

A Ray of Sunshine falls for the Cold Woman

He is simply adorable.

He has a sense of innocence and wonder about him. He was raised in a protected environment. She was the opposite. She has been shown the worst of life since day 1.

Perhaps that is why they make a perfect match. Opposite attracts to its fullest in this book.

so far... I love when the dark elves are on the sweeter side. And he simply is adorable 😍.

This series feels a bit like changing the world one elf at a time. Humans are slaves and treated horribly, but you can see some hope for change happening. The story is not light and fluffy, but Thirion and Vanessa have good chemistry from the start.

good read

This was good not as exciting as the first and second but good. Vanessa was a sought after slave because her beauty. She learned to just hide her emotions because of fear of being hurt. She tried it with Thirion but eventually she saw he wasn’t putting on a front. He wasn’t cruel like the other dark elves she met.

Thirion is an empath and very sheltered. He is taken by the beautiful human he was sent to kidnap. He needed to protect her but his enemy is closer than he thinks. It was a good read but I would have liked to see a deeper connection between the characters from the beginning.

[mature content] and not well written

I was intrigued by how strong and stoic the FMC began and then just started crying inconsolably. The MMC was TOO good to be believable at first. There was a lot of references to trauma that were unsubstantiated- but for a fluffy quick read maybe that’s not something that I can expect.

Enjoyable all in all

Not my favorite

Even liking the fact she didn't use mate in this book but just married them was a nice change.

The part where they meet the King and his brother, why is Kral wife not mentioned? It is just weird to me. Some areas could have been explained more but I enjoy it none the less.

Nice story...

I think the first couple of books in this series were a little more intense, this one was more of a simple easy read with a mild twist. It was a quick read, about a rather young elf growing into his strength and learning a tough lesson about greedy, selfish family members.

sadly, it is just as bland as the previous two. I don't understand people who think it's a great book with a good spice...(but I respect their opinion and tastes)
I just don't empathize with the characters, "forced love" seems too nonsense to me in these books and the hot scenes could be more elaborate or at least dedicate more than a paragraph to them.

Awesome

Again the stories in this series continues to be awesome. I really enjoyed the characters and storyline. It was nice to read a part with the King and Arch duke from book 1. I hope that continues.

Stolen By The Dark Elf

I'm just as in love with this Dark Elf as I was with the other two. This one is just delightful and delicious. I have to say again that I seriously think this author has an inside connection with them. If she wants to share I 'all take one.

A very good quick read

Thiron and Vanessa, from different species but both seeking something. Thiron seeking adventure from the ordinary life he thinks he lives. Vanessa seeking freedom even though it is unheard of for humans. They find it in . . . read the book.😁
