It was tortuous to work for my dad’s best friend. When I say torturous, I mean that I had to tear my eyes away from his chiseled abs and gorgeous jawline.
Until I just couldn’t…
Dylan is a former SEAL turned CEO. Oh, how I wish CEOs weren’t that irresistible. As a self-made woman who never used her daddy’s resources, I have a ton of pride. I would never risk my career by sleeping with my boss. I would never destroy my reputation by falling into bed with my dad’s best friend.
Or so I thought.
Yes, I did those exact things but that’s not even the worst part. I’ve got a bigger problem to deal with. Not one but two problems. I’m having his twins… And I’m effectively panicking.
Am I about to lose my heart, my career, and my sanity all at once?
Twin Secrets is a full-length age gap office romance, with loads of forbidden naughtiness - the kind that makes you go weak in the knees. Filled with lots of heart and heat, all books in this series stand alone and promise a very satisfying happily ever after. No cheating or cliffhanger - EVER.
Ajme Williams - mother, wife, daughter, dreamer, an avid reader and a writer. When she's not writing romance, Ajme can be seen sipping coffee, gorging on dark chocolate, exercising, or travelling with family and friends. Cooking is therapeutic for her and she drools over Italian food...and men. What to expect from her books? Ajme loves variety, so expect a lot of second chances, secret babies, office romances, big fat fake weddings, curvy heroines and alpha heroes. HEA? Always, baby! If you're a fan of emotional angsty contemporary romance, then you'll enjoy Ajme Williams.
2.5 STARS Honestly, I was just curious about the author because I've seen her books everywhere... I quite liked both MCs and the forbidden aspect of the story was handled really well, realistically. But the story was set in LA and I couldn't care less about problems of the wealthy families there... The misunderstandings, assumptions and miscommunication irritated me. I also felt that the writing and storytelling wasn't for me, it was wordy and repetitive. Considering the setting, the story and the writing, it reminded me a little bit of Harlequin books (not a judgment, just a statement).
Another one bites the dust… dun dun dun… another one bites the dust!
Okay in all seriousness DNF @ 19% 😭 In opposite fashion to my last DNF I actually really love the premise of this book! However the MMC is 40 and written like another damn 25 year old. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in large age gap romances. I don’t know why but a lot of authors seem to struggle to make the MMCs actually act and speak their age. It’s like they don’t actually know how to write a romance with that large of an age gap… they make the MMC 40 but only know how to write 20 year old MCs in love. It was also very repetitive. I was really trying to stick it out because I wanted to at least get to the good parts 😏 but I couldn’t take it anymore. My breaking point was when he went to go make his own copies… what CEO of a big real-estate investment firm is making his own copies??? Oh yeah probably the 22 year old intern that this author thought she was writing 🫣. ⏭️ Next!
Dane MacLeod has been a Navy Seal for the past 18 years. When his father has a heart attack, he returns home to take over as CEO of his father's company MacLeod Capital Investment. He is now 40 years old and reconnects with his childhood friend Troy Manion who has a very successful Construction company and is very rich. Troy asks Dane to hire a young lady that who has great potential but that he himself doesn't have room for in his company. Troy never tells Dane that this young lady right out of college is his 21 year old daughter Bridget Manion. He calls his daughter Jet.
Bridget goes on the interview with Dane and their physical attractions is immediate. Bridget goes under the name of Franklin her mother's last name and she too doesn't know the close friendship and connection between Dane and her father.
Dane and Bridget are so attracted to each they soon start having and office romance and a very hot sensual sexy love affair. The two can't keep their hands off each other.
I could not stop listening to this story! It was so intense between the couple. You could feel them falling in love. all the characters are well written. Twin Secrets will go on my re read list.
Twin Secrets by Ajme Williams wasn’t quite for me. This was my first time reading a pregnancy trope, and I realized it’s not something I personally connect with. The storyline felt fairly typical and predictable, and I found myself feeling bored at times rather than pulled in. That said, it may still appeal to readers who enjoy familiar romance setups and pregnancy-focused plots, it just didn’t end up being my cup of tea.
Age gap (20 years) Dad’s best friend Surprise + hidden pregnancy Boss/employee
I normally like that trope… but what I hate most in books is when it has a really strong start, then it goes back to months in the past to read their whole story… Like, it dragged for fucking 50% before we got to the good stuff! Honestly, I skimmed from 30% to 68% of the book and let me tell you… I MISSED NOTHING! Like, you could basically read the first few chapters and go to the 50% mark and you’d have no problem understanding the story.
Love Knows No Bounds - Reading this story was a truly alluring experience, that every avid romance reader will appreciate and not be disappointed to read. The drama and scintillating sensual moments in the storyline, will take you through a myriad of emotions and leave you wanting more. You will definitely want to share it with your friends, once you finish reading it. It was a truly wonderful read.

Normally I like books by this author but this one didn't work for me. Jet is just out of college and looking for a job. She works for Dane. Who happens to be her fathers best friend. Things are complicated but work out for them in the end.
HEA Age Gap (19 yrs) Workplace Romance Powerful Billionaire CEO Dad's Best Friend Secret + Hidden Pregnancy
Bridget Manion, a twenty-one year old college graduate with a background in Graphic design. She was a surprise Troy Manion (her father) didn’t see coming, 11 years after her birth. Her mother dropped her off to her father and left. Troy welcomed her with open arms, as did her Step-mom Lizzie. Nicknamed “Jett” during one of her rebellious phases it stuck. Home she comes and she needs to find a job. Unbeknownst to her, her father already put in a good word with his good friend Dane.
Dane MacLeod, a Navy SEAL for 18 years is turned CEO when his father has a heart attack, He returns home and takes over the MacLeod Capital Investments. Now he is 40 years old and reconnects with a childhood best friend, Troy Manion who has a very successful Construction company and is very rich. Troy asks Dane to hire a talented young lady, who has great potential, but that unfortunately his company doesn’t have room for.
Bridget accepts the offer of an interview with MacLeod Capital Investments, and meets Dane MacLeod himself. Their physical attraction is immediate. Bridget uses her mother's Maiden name Franklin (as her folks never married) and she doesn’t want to use the Manion name to get a job. What will become of Dane & Bridget?? Will their office romance make it or will it fizzle out as just a fling?
Just the usual, nothing unexpected. Was okay, just hate the constant repetition over and over of how they each fought being together…the angst was a bit overdone for me. Not only that, there are a few proofreading errors.
I loved this book. Incredibly wholesome. The end especially tugged on my emotions, made me go & kiss my 9 month old son on the head one more time than usual before he slept.
I liked both characters, I think there was a perfect amount of sweet vs the sexier parts.
I actually liked her Dad. I thought he was a really good man, truly wanted the best for her, and was just trying to protect her. I think no more kids for him & his wife though, when your kids are having kids or are old enough to have them. That’s your sign to stop. Haha. Just my opinion.
But no, loved it.

Ajme Williams has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Bridget (Jet) and Dane. Bridget is on her way home from college. Troy, her father has invited Dane over for dinner and he ends up telling Dane about Jet coming home and needing a job. Dane tells him to send her resume to him and he would look at it. Bridget gets a call from MacLeod Capital Investments about coming in for an interview. She doesn't remember sending in her resume to them. She thinks her dad has done it but then thinks that her internship supervisor done it since it had been done before to others. When Bridget goes to the interview, it is with Dane. There is an attraction between them. At first, the interview doesn't go well. Bridget gets the job and has been there for a little while she is in the breakroom and Dane comes in. They have a few words and Dane ends up kissing her. After the kiss, Dane walks out. He can't stop thinking about her but he is her boss and older than her. He knows he should stay away from her. Troy has invited Dane over for his wife Lizzy's birthday party and this is when Dane finds out that Bridget is his best friend's daughter. He is not happy about this. Bridget is shocked to find out the man she is falling for is her father's best friend. They go up to her room and talk. They end up sleeping together but before they do, Dane tells her that after they are done so are they. Bridger is not feeling well and her friend Lane asked what is wrong. Bridget tells her and Lane tells her that they need to go and buy a pregnancy test. Bridget takes the test and it comes back positive. She was going to tell Dane but she hears him talking to Bran about how word was that he and Anne were getting married. Bridget decides then that she can't stay there so she starts making plans to leave. She gets another job in a different city and turns in her notice. She leaves without telling anyone at MacLeod Capital Investments. She is not happy in her new job but she is three months along in her pregnancy and needs the insurance. Her father and Lizzy come to see her and she tells them about the baby. She doesn't tell them that Dane is the father, just that he is not in the picture. Her dad and Lizzy talk her into coming back home and Lizzy tells her that she could open her own business. Dane has decided to start a project on his own and has called Troy in to discuss things. This is when he finds out that Bridget is back home and starting her own business. Troy invites him over for dinner. It is hard on Dane when he sees Bridget after being away from her for so long. After dinner, Bridget goes back to the cottage her father built for her. There is a knock on the door and when she answers it, Dane is standing there. He is mad at her and accused her of sleeping with him while seeing someone else from another city. He thinks that her baby is someone else's. She tells him that he had some nerve messing around with her when he was going to marry Anne. He tells her that he not going to marry Anne. They were just friends. Bridget tells him that he is the father. He said something about having more kids later on but she asked him about more now. He said there was time later. She said she was pregnant with twins. They start messing around and are caught by her father. Troy kicks Dane out and he and Bridger have words. She feels like Dane has again chosen her father over her. Will Bridget and Dane work things out and get back together? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is an AWESOME Age Gap story. During a job interview a man and a woman fell instant attraction towards each other. They both fight it and deny to themselves how they feel. The woman gets the job and within the first week on the job they start a secret affair. She doesn’t want her co-workers to know in case they start to believe she slept her way into her job. A few weeks into their relationship they find out that her dad and her boss/lover are best friends from high school. He ends their relationship, she feels angry and sad. He on the other hand is also miserable. In a week or so, they are back together their attraction is just too strong and since her father doesn’t know they continue to have their relationship. Time goes by and she is feeling quite ill. Her boss’s Secretary, with whom she has become friends with, suggests at lunch that she buys a pregnancy test, she does and back at work she takes it and surprise she is pregnant. A few days later she overhears a conversation of a business rival and her boss are having, where she hears the rival talking about his engagement and upcoming wedding at the country club, that his mother is planning. She leaves work saying she is I’ll, then stays home for a few days, she goes to a clinic and the doc confirms her pregnancy. She then makes plans to quit her job and move away to start over where she can have the baby and not cause problems for the boss/lover she loves so much. Three months later she is starting to show, she is miserable at her new job and she finds out that her baby is actually babies, she is having twins. Her parents visit her, they see she is stressed out and very pale, the convince her to come home, offer her the studio/guesthouse they are building off of their house so they can help with the twins and she can Market Consulting Company. Someti e after her move back and she has gotten her business off of the ground she as a few clients her dad’s best friend (former boss/lover) comes over for dinner. After dinner he follows her to the guesthouse where after some talking over a couple of things they end up in a compromising position her dad walks in and finds them. He goes ballistic and kicks the guy out. After a few days the guy comes back for the woman, he shows her the house bought, he wants to marry her and adopt her baby. She then tells him the babies are his. He proposes she accepts, they tell both sets of,parents, they get married, they have the babies and they are very happy.
If you like this book, good for you for me, I just could not stand the FMC in anyway. It’s like I think about it if the sexes were reversed, if you were out with a man and have relations with him in whatever way and you don’t want to be with him because it doesn’t make you feel good in whatever way and he punishes you for that that’s not OK but she does that and she uses the excuse that she thinks he’s marrying some girl which other than hearing overhearing a conversation with a man that he doesn’t fucking get along with there’s no evidence to that, and the fact that she saw them together once, and it’s like just so frustrating. Also when they were having a conversation and she is confronting him about the fact that he’s a. “ cheater” and he’s literally told her like three times that he didn’t cheat on her and that he wasn’t with this woman and she still not listening and accusing him of cheating. I’m like bitch you just trying to have hurt feelings you’re just trying to make excuses for the fact that you are a lying liar, who lies not only to him about him having a baby but to your father and making your father believe that the father just didn’t want to be around when actually you’re just conniving and didn’t tell the father that he’s having a baby. I’m sorry, but I cannot stand that shit because instead of thinking of her baby and being a good mom and putting her feelings aside, she ran with her feelings and didn’t do what’s best for her baby, and I can’t stand that like if the character isn’t gonna be at least a decent mom, then why write her as a mom. Like we all know that if both parents are perfectly good, and are good parents and can provide in ways that a child needs, there’s no reason that a child shouldn’t know both parents that doesn’t mean the parents have to be together but the fact that she took this from her child just because she has hurt feelings and her embarrassment is absolutely fucking ridiculous, and there’s no justifying it. to an extent I get it her feelings got hurt whatever but like she’s literally only thinking about her feelings and her self and it’s just selfish in a way that I cannot get behind and I cannot stand. I also love the fact that she’s constantly talking about how she’s an adult and she’s not a child, but I feel like this whole situation. She acted like a fucking child, and just reinforce the idea that she is a child! Which is part of the reason that he broke it off with her and I’m not saying the way he did is OK but like the fact that all of her actions were just excused is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I have not read the prior series that this is apparently spun off from where Troy and Lizzie met but it really isn't necessary.
I don't normally read this trope of romance. I feel the May-December type of romance is so over done. Now it would be great to read an older female and a younger man but those are few and far between.
I did take a chance with this one and I will admit that I did like it but wow there was a lot of bad language and open door scenes. A few scenes are okay but this one had a few more than I felt were really necessary.
Dane comes home after serving as a SEAL to head up his father's company during his convalescence. A childhood friend asks him to look over a resume of a talented college grad. Unfortunately the friend, Troy, can't hire the young woman who recently graduated from college. Upon meeting the woman, Bridget, Dane is immediately attracted to her. Dane is 40 to Bridget's 21. After a short period of time, Dane and Bridget act on their attraction. The two quickly heat up the sheets and other surfaces in his place. Dane goes over to Troy's house to help celebrate Troy's wife birthday. Much to his surprise, Bridget is there. Bridget is apparently Troy's oldest daughter, Jet!
This book is written in my favorite dual POV format. Getting that glimpse into a character's thoughts really help me to better understand and connect to them. I enjoyed this story but would only recommend it to someone of age and to someone who enjoyed the older man/younger women trope.
This is Jet’s, Bridget story who we meet as a young girl dropped on her father’s doorstep and him never knowing he had a daughter. Bridget is all grown up and has graduated college to return home to her dad, step-mom and siblings and trying to find a job on her own. Unknown to her dad reaches out to a childhood friend, Dane and gives him little details about a college graduate looking for a job and never says it’s his daughter. Bridget uses her mothers last name and goes for the interview, gets hired, finds Dane to be handsome and sexy! Dane knows he’s in trouble and should stay away due their age differences and he’s her boss. Dane becomes jealous when he sees Bridget on another man’s arm and makes some crazy decisions that change their relationship. They keep things quiet and one day at a house party Dane shows up and they both are shocked that Dane is a friend of her dads. Things get a bit crazy so when Bridget overhears comments she keeps her secret and leaves for another job and hides. Once the secrets are revealed there are ups and downs and feelings are hurt, hearts are trying to figure out what to do and how to mend them. This is a beautiful love story about an older man who treats his younger woman as one precious woman. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Former Navy Seal, Dane and recent college graduate Bridget meet when he receives her resume and hires her on the spot. He is a 40 yr old retired Seal who comes from a wealthy family and is filling in as CEO for his father who has health issues. These two have an immediate attraction to one another but initially leave it at that. Dylan's socialite mother keeps hinting and sets him up on a date to attend a charity function. He runs into Bridgette there as well, as she is helping a coworker out by attending as his date only as there is no romance. When these two run into one another, thing get interesting and it starts their brief affair. These two are in for a shock as they learn they have her father in common, but neither knew as she uses her mother's last name professionally and her family refers to her as "Jet". I was very invested in this couple and couldn't wait to see how it played out. I was kind of let down, when finding out that she was carrying Dane's children that she didn't tell him, regardless of the reason. I didn't understand how she could handle the situation the same way that her mother handled her being kept a secret from her father for 11 years.
I thought Bridget's father's reaction was spot on and it is how a "normal" father would react when he finds out his best friend of 20 years is sleeping with his daughter... well done! It played out for a minute and was not over too quickly.

Age is only a number when you find the right person.
Dane MacLeod, is a former SEAL turned CEO to his father's business MacLeod Capital Investments after he had a heart attack. While he never wanted to work there especially after his parents disapproval of him joining the military at eighteen but he agrees to help out while his father recovers.
Bridget (Jet) Franklin just graduated from college and has moved back to be close to her dad Troy Manion his wife Lizzy and her step siblings while she looks for a job. While there she told her dad she wanted to earn her job by her qualifications not by his name so she applied under her mother's last name. She was so excited when she got the job with MacLeod Capital Investments. What she didn't expect was the chemistry between her and her new boss Dane that led to a secret affair. Unfortunately everything fell apart when they discovered he grew up with her father Troy and they were friends.
Dane and Bridget are wonderful characters that you can't help but be drawn to. Their storyline was clandestine, steamy, intense filled with secrets, drama, twist and turns.
I received a free ARC through Booksprout an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.
When Bridget graduated and came home from college, she started looking for a job. Her Dad, Troy Manion, recommended her to his friend, Dane, saying only that she was a wonderful candidate but he could not hire her himself. Dane, CEO of MacLeod Capital Investment, was impressed at her interview and offered her the job.
Bridget and Dane felt the attraction to each other and finally acted on their feelings. Bridget ends up pregnant with his twins. Will she tell Dane about the pregnancy? Will he find out that she is actually his best friend’s daughter? And what will they decide to do about their situation now?
I would hope the fact that Bridget’s father recommending her for the job was not the only reason she was hired. One would hope the CEO could determine that she would be a good fit for his company on her own merits, even if he had known she was his friend’s daughter. Her dad was more to blame by not letting them know who she was because he knew she wanted to keep him out of her business, specifically in getting her a job, but he had gone ahead and done that anyway. She even gave a different last name to make sure her dad’s name did not give away her identity and influence Dane’s hiring her.
What is there to like about this read? The storyline is amazing with twists and turns and explosive dialogue; as well as bombshells that will knock you on your butt! Bridget is going on her first official job interview after college. Bridget is confident, outspoken, sassy, direct and wants to stand on her own. Dane is in his 40’s, ex military, handling the CEO role for his father and this will be his first interview - maybe both a little out of their element. At the end of the interview Dane does hire Bridget. Dane has been having dreams about Bridget. He is intrigued by her, can’t get her out of his mind. He has never had such feelings for a woman before. Bridget feels the pull toward Dane; but he is her boss and she will not make a move to jeopardize her job - until the kiss. A spur of the moment kiss. Now what? Both Bridget and Dane are attracted to each other and they try to fight it — but can’t. The characters in this story jump off the pages and get your heart thumping and you feel their magnetic pull. The main characters make the story come to life - a little sugar and a lot of spice. You will feel the sizzle, the steam, the passion and the heat. It makes for a truly dynamite read!.

Twin Secrets has a secret pregnancy, a much older man and a younger woman, her father's best friend having feelings for the best friend's daughter - which is reciprocated and sometimes initiated and a boss and subordinate acting on their feelings. And there are only two characters involved in most of those scenarios - Dane and Bridget!
The story is told in alternating chapters by each of them. Characters we've met before are woven throughout as are new ones. I liked the inclusion of her dad, Troy and his family as well as some of those Dane and Bridget work with. Dane's family is uptight and he's running the family business which he really has no desire to - or does he? Dane's mother is only interested in marrying him off - to the right high society woman - and he wants other things - namely Bridget.
There is a nice flow to the story. There are secrets, tears, laughter, heated moments - some in inappropriate places - arguments, family friends, work, business associates and lots of steamy moments. There is closure and a nicely portrayed happily ever after. the epilogue takes place four months later and even better, the extended epilogue, takes place three months after that. All in all a satisfying read even if it many times took me out of my comfort zone.
Ms. Williams is an author whose books I've enjoyed even with all the heat. There's always a storyline - or two, or three - that always keeps me coming back for more!.

This is Bridget and Dane's story, and what a brilliant story, it had me hooked from the first page till the last. it didn't disappoint!
When Troy's daughter Bridget was returning home from Uni he asked Dane to take a look at her resume. When she went for the interview there was chemistry there from the start, no woman had affected Dane the way she did, she was smart and sassy, he didn't realise who she really was as she went by the name Bridget Franklin, her mother's name not Troy's name, so Dane didn't know that he wanted and lusted over his best friends daughter as Troy always called her Jet.
As they got close and kept their affair secret in the office, they were both falling in love until the day of Lizzy's birthday party when they came face to face realising who they were, but it was too late Bridget was pregnant, and she thought he was going to marry Anne, so she did what she had to do and ran!
where does Dane's loyalties lie, with his best friend or his lover?
This is a brilliant story, a must-read to find out what happens between Dane and Jet.
This is the start to a new series, Dane and Bridget story.
If you like age gap, best friend, or secret baby, well this has all of them.
Bridget returns home from collage and is ready to start the next chapter of her life. She has told her dad that she was using her moms last name to get a job so it was on her merritt, not his name, that she was hired. Unbeknownst to her, he calls his best friend Dane and forwards her resume to him. Dane interviews her, not knowing she was Troy's daughter because of last name different from her dads. There is immediate attraction on both sides, eventually a secret office romance starts. But what happens when he discovers she is his best friends daughter, she finds out her dad sent her resume to Dane...or when she discovers she is pregnant with Danes twins?? I loved the twists and turns, and although some of the book was predictable, there were some definite surprises. Once I started, I could not put it down. Looking forward to the next book in this series
I'm only on page 14 and I have to say the writing is really strange and disjointed. I'm how to explain it but it's lacking any emotion and the conversations are strange and aren't worded like most people would talk I think that's where the disconnect and disjointed-ness is coming from for me. The book is reading amateur-ish so far..... now I'm on page 130 and I still think the same thing and now it's gotten even more annoying because the author keeps pointing out the same thing all the time like for example we know Danes the only child no reason to keep hammering that point in. On top of that all the military people I know would never ever in a million years allow someone to disrespect them and talk down to them not even there parents they would probably not be rude but they'd distance themselves from them and disown them before they'd allow them to treat them like they're worthless. The mmc in this book is just pathetic. At this point I have to finish the book but I can say I won't be changing my 2 star rating...
As a recent graduate, Jet, aka Bridget, wanted to make it on her own. While her father was influential, she refused his help landing a job. What she didn't know was the company she applied, her father sent over her resume to because it was his best friend. Dane had no idea Jet was actually named Bridget. When she came in for the interview, Dane and Bridget sparred quite a bit. The two were drawn together. Bridget is hired for a job on the spot. Dane and Bridget spend months fighting their attraction, but one night break the rules and end up experiencing ecstasy beyond their wildest dreams. When Dane shows up at Bridget's childhood home, everything falls apart. Dane can't believe he betrayed his best friend and Jet is lost in emotion. Will the two be able to come back from this lapse in judgement?.

This is a taboo forbidden romance where the main characters have age gap and the woman is related to guy best friend, dane had just return to home after serving in the seal's to take over his, dad's company his best friend troy ask if there was jobs going as his daughter jet was coming home after graduation but there was a little confusion later on when dane finds that the woman he hired Bridget is no other then jet after being invited to his friend house but prior to all this coming out dane and bridget( jet) were getting intimate with one another but once jet dad finds out how will it go down and when jet keeping something from dane how will end in the end, this was a really go read an older man younger women story.

Twin Secrets. I was in awe with this book. I usually don't care for the age gap romances, but this one was good. It took some turns I wasn't expecting. The story will grab your heart and make you feel the love Bridget finds in Dane. Bridget gets a job after graduation at her dad's old friend's company. Dane didn't know who Bridget was. He thought he was just doing Troy a favor hiring this young girl. Dane became infactuated with her and began a relationship with Bridget only to find out at Lizzie's birthday party who she was. Life made a turn for everyone. Now do they end it, keep it a secret or let Troy know? The plot thickens. A must read book. In this book we meet Bridget (Jet) Franklin-Manion & Dane Macloud. From the moment Dane saw Bridget he knew he wanted her. What he didn't know is she was the same girl he had helped his best friend with after losing his wife. Once he realizes who she is he isn't willing to lose his friendship with her dad so he puts the breaks on, no matter how hard it is. Bridget wants Dane though she knows it is wrong when she gets the chance she jumps at it. Now with her being pregnant she won't put that pressure on him no matter how bad she wants him. Can these two find a HEA or will they just have been having a good time for awhile?
Another great story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
