She should never have promised her sister to be at the wedding - not when it meant returning to the small town she left behind and confronting her first love and heartbreak
Ten years ago, Isabella left Misty Springs to start a new life. Now she’s back, and absolutely not ready to confront her past or make the most of this second chance. Being involved in her sister Abigail’s wedding brings back unwelcome memories - and it puts her right in the path of the man she’s been struggling to forget. Logan Cooper was her first love, before she broke his heart. It looks as if this time, it will be her heart that’s at stake…

This sweet small-town romance novella of approximately 33,000 words is Book 2 of the Misty Springs series. Each of the books can be read as a stand-alone with a happy ending, although there are some recurring characters.
Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she got a chance to turn her passion into her profession. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds – something that influences her writing. Her trademark are sweet, yet deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Besides being a romance novel author, she works as a self-employed German web content writer, as a translator, and as a faithful servant to all the cats, dogs, fish and birds in her home. What she loves most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send her protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. When she’s not writing, she’s reading or thinking about writing.
I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I read book 1 of the series and knew the author was writing another…. and I fell in love again. No surprise there! This series has my heart! Where Seeking Love was sweet and romantic and cosy, Finding Love is overall more intense, yet still maintains its warm and comforting feel. Devika Fernando is the queen of writing gorgeous settings and this book lives up to that. Returning to the picturesque small town of Misty Springs feels just like coming home. Logan, as the swoonworthy cowboy hero with a heart of gold doesn’t disappoint - Devika’s heroes never do- while Isabella is a perfect blend of fiesty and strong yet soft. Together they are a great team and I found myself rooting for them from the get go. I felt all their feelings as I read the book, which is what makes any book a great read. One of my favourite things about this book is the dynamic between the characters… be it the protagonists or even the simple underrated relationships between the others. This book has everything you’d want from your delicious comfort read… a sweet romance, friendship and sisterhood, a tinge of angst, a beautiful setting, (not to mention a wedding!) and a perfect ending that leaves you feeling warm and tingly and wanting more. If you haven’t read the Misty Springs books yet, do give them a try. If you love comforting books, second chance romances, happily ever afters and characters who feel like friends, pick this book up! You’re in for a treat.
I should probably start by saying that Devika Fernando is that author that I will drop everything I need to do in order to read her latest book! She is a true artist, using words to take me to new places and introducing me to new characters to fall in love with! This book did not disappoint! This is the 2nd book in the Misty Springs Series, but can be read as a stand alone story. In this book, Isabella finds out YOU CAN return home again, and everyone will be waiting for you, like time has never passed. Maybe even that hunky cowboy that lives down the road… To a small town girl like me, these characters are so believable and full of heart! Everyone in town wants to see her sister happy, and hopes Isabella finds her happiness too. I love the little glimpses the author throws into her stories about her own life, as an innkeeper, and this book makes me wish for a little travel myself. If you like cowboys, quiet inns, and second chance romances, this is definitely your story!
This one was a rather sweet read, but it’s not 100% innocent! Lots of hints at hotness!
What a cute spicy read! This was short enough that I read it in a day, some could read in one sitting! The little specks of physical appreciation had me feeling all kinds of things to fuel the admiration for the characters, while listening to their previous challenges and how they both knew they loved each other! I could really sense the awkwardness between them. That was really well written. It was a bright contrast but complete truth to their feelings inside. The anticipation for them to just be more than civil and to get along without snark had me! 100%! I highlighted so many things I’ve felt about crushes! I could totally relate! If you’re looking for a shorter read with some cute slow burn and a hint of spice, this is it!
Book 2 of the Misty Springs Series is a sweet and saucy romance. It follows book 1, Seeking Love, but can stand alone. As in book 1, the characters drag you right into their story. I was rooting for them, regardless of their past, regardless of their issues. Sexiness is built-in, but not spelled out. Devika has a wonderful talent for words. I look forward to reading more stories by this author.
I really enjoy Devika Fernando's writing and I was pleased that the author brought out this book after a long spell without publishing. But the author's quality is there and this is another gripping HEA romance.
