This kept me wanting more page after.page I just wanted to devour the book whole. The fifth in the Chloe Fine series it is full of suspense and thriller that keeps you guessing to the last. It is nice seeing the working relationship between Fine and Rhodes, the complicated family relationship between Chloe, Aiden and Danielle, the working relationship between Chloe and Director Johnson as well as the relationship that could be growing between Chloe and Moulton. You then have the main part of the book which is the murders of ex football jocks, it seems that.Is all that links them but is there more there than you think.
This book did make a comeback from the last one! The case Chloe was on happened fast, but it was a nice distraction. Im really liking the relationship developing between her and her partner. They really are getting along and both have each other's back. Chloe had a few moments where she had a lack of judgement against her partner, but they talked it through and worked past it.
The trouble between her sister and father took another turn, and at first I thought I was really liking the outcome, but the end of it took another turn. I'm excited to see how they wrap up that story in the next book.
Two men are mysteriously killed in this a wealthy suburban town and FBI VICAP Special Agent Chloe Fine is called in solve the crime. While investigating the crime she uncovers a lot of lies in this small town. The 2 men murdered were friends and before there is another crime she has to find out who they were, and who may have wanted them dead. At the same time she is trying to hold it together because her personal life is causing her turmoil. Both her dad and her is sister are missing and she is afraid her dad responsible for her sister being missing and could have possibly done something sinister to her.
The continuing saga of Chloe Fine THO agent and sister to Danielle Fine and the story of 3 murders that need to be solved before more and the kidnapping of their loathsome father by Danielle. For some reason I found myself not avidly reading this fifth book in the series. I find the author, Blake Pierce has written another fine suspense novel and look forward to reading the sixth book in the series.
Past hurts, grudges and mayhem holding on to hatered for 30+ years is doomed for trouble. Carrying the weight of your personal life while on an oath to protect and serve my bring problems.
Pierce bring all of the above with twist of suspense to the very end when one stone is lifted the wool is placed back over your eyes.
Disappointed- that is how I am feeling. I was already disappointed in Moulton; he wasn’t forced or coerced — he just “went along”. And now Chloe is out buying a shovel. I am very disillusioned about her character now.
Well written & developed. I love the way the investigation is laid out. Excellent characters & interaction between them. Fine & Rhodes make a great team.
Ancora un poliziesco ben costruito con Chloe e la sua famiglia sempre importante. La trama gialla non male si snoda senza grossi scossoni. La coppia Chloe Rhodes funziona.
Read this book on 30 june 2022 Took 6 hours to read it completely in a span of 2 days Well this book was different than the other books of this series and was definitely better than the previous books in this series. I will give this this book 4 stars out of 5
The complexity continues! Every book we get in the Chloe Fine series gets more and more involved and deeper into the mystery of her childhood while also giving us a current mystery to solve and can’t get enough!! After the explosive ending of the previous book, where we find Chloe’s twin sister Danielle kidnapping their father, I was so excited to see where this book took them. While Danielle is busy interrogating and attempting to obtain the truth from their father, Chloe starts a new case but has trouble focusing and keeping her cool because of her missing family. As more murders happen, Chloe and her partner are stumped as to what the connection is, but through her own mystery of where her sister and father went, she is able to pull through and find the connection they need to solve the case. But it’s another story when Danielle finally reaches out to Chloe and tells her where they are and what she’s done, and the ending of this book we definitely don’t see coming! I am so interested to see where the next book takes us through the decisions that Chloe will make! Another great book that kept me on the edge of my seat from Blake! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What would you do to protect your twin sister? That is a question that Chloe will have to face. Danielle has kidnapped her father and headed west. Chloe has been called to a case where 2 men have all ready been brutally murdered and it's up to agents Fine and Rhodes to do their best to prevent a third murder. Chloe is so worried about the disappearance of her father and sister that she is having difficulty focusing on the case and then a third man is murdered. The agents are searching for something common that links the 3 men...they get a break and the pieces start falling in line and coming together and solve the case. Now Chloe can focus on the missed phone call from Danielle telling her where to find her.
Chloe has a decision to make and in the end she slips to the dark side. It was a very well written ending with justice being served. It will be interesting to see how the girls handle the psychological aspect of their relationship.
I was given an advanced copy of this book and was in no way compensated. I am eagerly awaiting to see where this writer will take his readers.
Another great book by Blake Pierce I love reading his books. I have just about read everything he has written. I love the twist on the end. All his books will keep you sitting on the edge
