Maybe I'm Selfish
Holidae Queens was a woman on a mission, living her life to the beat of her own drum. When it came to love, Holidae took no prisoners. Holidae was a single, black, independent, and sexually liberated woman who lived by her own set of laws. Until life throws her a surprise and a judge orders her to do something she despises. In the middle of her battles with the law and her family, Holidae meets a man who makes her grin differently, and she mulls over the possibilities of love. Too self-centered to give her everything to someone else, Holidae may miss her chance with the love of her life if she continues to run from it rather than toward it.
Sabe is a street smart guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He has seen and done a lot in his life, but the one thing he hasn't done is fall in love. Sabe is willing to entrust his heart to his crush, his connect’s daughter, but he is thrown off his feet by a slew of drama. Sabe, who is bitter, angry, and hurt, tries to hide his suffering until a woman with similar scars assists him in healing his heart. Sabe fights the feeling that he isn't deserving of this woman's love and tries his hardest to show her who he is. But, with the streets screaming his name, Sabe selfishly puts himself first, risking losing the only woman who has ever saw the real him.
Blythe has been through a lot when it comes to men; in an unhappy marriage, she tries to find a way out; after a drastic turn forces her to pack up and move in a different direction, she falls for the one man she least expects to fall for; selfishly wanting this man all to herself, Blythe learns to open up to new love; however, being with a street dude has its ups and downs; will Blythe be up to the task of dealing with everything that comes with this new love?
Parker Queens, as a single father to his daughter, Parker learns to manage parenthood and the street life; his first love has been imprisoned, and the years have taken their toll on Parker; by chance, he meets a beautiful but fragile woman, and all he wants to do is love and protect her. However, not everyone agrees with his approach. If Parker somehow doesn't make a decision, fate will do so for him.

When Feelings Are Caught!!
Les is bitter, jealous, vindictive and selfish. She just don't want Papa to be happy. She just wanted Papa to be loyal only to her. Having a baby ain't going to make him stay. She should be thankful for not serving all those years. Her parents knew what the h@££ they were doing. That's why she sent for Bellow. Her mammy was just trying to shade Blythe. Blythe needs to be free from that toxic marriage. Sabe just as sensitive as he wants to be. Papa will always have love for Les because she is the mother of his child but that's just it. Summer is going to be the baby mama for h@££ because Nicholas doesn't want her. Now she is trying to make it work with Sabe. Javontay is trying to have his cake and eat too. His trying to make Holidae a sister wife. Now he is foul and petty making Holidae fall in love with him again. I see why Holidae is the way that she is acting like she doesn't have a care in the world. Use them before they use you. Can't wait for part 2.

I don’t know how to start this review because there’s so much going on in this book! There are so many snakes in the garden that will blow your mind!
These characters were wild AF.
This Ms. Holidae, baaaaaaby she didn’t give AF because she was doing her! Some of her liberal escapades I don’t agree with, but she learned the hard way!
In the beginning I was not feeling Papa since he needed to be more truthful with his situation. He better do a DNA test because Les is shady and she took advantage of a young Papa, and poor baby he ain’t no better!
I’m not going to discuss Blythe because the situation she was in made me angry because she stayed in that toxic relationship for so long ugh 😑.
Sabe and Holidae had a good vibes, but Sabe also got to do better and now he caught up in a life long situation SMH.
The end though! Wiosa!

Where is part 2
There are parts of me that's disappointed in everyone with how they are moving and not ending other relationships before jumping into something new. It's what's causing all the drama that I cannot stop reading about lol. I was worried about the unnecessary beef between Papa and Sabe. Holidae definitely can't seem to win for losing when it comes to these men, Sabe included. Papa should have been moving different when he saw just how nutty Les is. There were many servers revealed but based upon that last few pages, part 2 will reveal even more and I can't wait!!

I was hoping that Papa would of been smarter, he knew the type of Woman Les was I just feel bad for Blythe. Now Sabe having to chose because Holidae wanted to be nosy.Summer had me fooled I know she seemed sneaky. I hope keep her at a distance.....can’t wait to read part 2

Enjoyed thus far! relationships are hard! secrets have a way of coming out, Holidae & Papa father was a whole mess, but he left everything to his kids. Les is a snake and she has to meet her demise. Glad that Holidae gave herself to love again, Sabe is that dude for sure! I'm hoping that Papa will be okay. Javonte' has so many skeletons.

The title of this book definitely describes the story within. I am loving these characters and all of their drama. Papa and Blyth have found what they needed in each other. Holidae, Is starting to know what real love is. The drama being brought by the streets,family, exes, is a lot. On to book two.

You gotta learn to work it or it works you! Loved everything about this book. Holidae was a mess and Sabe smh I loved Pappa with his Selfish self. Les even in jail was aggravating. Blythe about to be a beast can't wait.

Good read
Good read, the characters in this story definitely show selfishness lol. But good so far face paced for me and would recommend. Book gets 4 stars due to the many grammatical errors, it's like it skipped over the editor process.
