Books 4-6 in the “Lies” Mystery Series! In the second collection of “Lies” mysteries, Del Honeycutt and bestselling mystery author Sabrina Spencer search for a mysterious package lost in a plane crash 20 years earlier in the Florida Everglades; hunt down clues to Del’s late father’s secret life after Sabrina is gunned down on a Boston street; and discover a mass grave on their New Hampshire property forty years after eight teens disappeared from a school for boys. SECRETS & LIES On the afternoon of May 11, 1996, ValuJet 592 plunged into the Florida Everglades. There were no survivors. But something came through the crash a small box with huge implications for humankind. Now, 20 years later, the mystery of Flight 592 hits close to home for Del and Sabrina. And with killers hot on their trail, they must navigate dangers lurking both above and below the swamp waters of the Everglades in order to find the box ... and to survive. BLOOD LIES Gunned down on a busy Boston street, Sabrina is left clinging to life. Media speculation suggests a deranged fan as the shooter. But was Sabrina really the intended target? For Del, a chilling link emerges between Sabrina’s shooting and that of his father’s murder three years earlier. Discovering that his father was leading a secret life, he digs deeper, and the clues lead Del down a dangerous and deadly path. BURIED LIES In 1982, eight teens disappeared from the Crater Lake School for Boys. Forty years later, a mass grave is found, containing the remains of seven of the boys. What happened to the eighth? Del and Sabrina have carved out a quiet life on seventeen acres in New Hampshire. A construction crew breaking ground for a guest house comes across the mass grave. It plunges Del and Sabrina into a deadly game of cat and mouse, involving murder, a secret project, a lost diamond, and, of course, lies.

I liked all the characters, they were well portrayed, the stories seemed a little far fetched, but were fully fleshed out each with a good ending. What I didn’t like was the rare foul language from only one character, plus once from another. Is the use of language like this supposed to make the characters tougher? I don’t know. All in all some good reading, the last story involving children was an unpleasant subject, with quite a lot of evil people. Kinda wish I hadn’t read that one.
Two excellent novels here; kind of wish I had not read the third one, which is violent and depressing. All the "bad people" got what they deserved, but somehow that didn't "make it right." I like all the other books in this series better than #6. Hope the next is more upbeat and cheerful.
Author effective in his storytelling technique for the book series. Main characters have to live through an attempt on their lives and then somehow figure who did it and why. First two involve lies in their family history and last book another family’s history ruined by lies.
There's twists and turns, never sure where the story is going.. which is a good thing in a mystery!! I like how this author focus is on humor, the story live ,sand not sex Thank you for that
I love this series for the characters, their development and the drama. The relationships are very much like family. Enjoyed all three stories as well as the first three n the series.
Very entertaining read. Always wanting to know the next twist. Sometimes the "near misses" can feel a bit contrived, but that is why fiction works. You get to know and like the main characters, and hate the baddies, who are really bad !
All three books are very well written. The characters and places are wonderfully described. After the a while you feel like you know them. Each book follows the next in a logical extension.
