My dear merciful God of reading what in the ever loving hell was this?! You know we all had that thought: “It could be drugs” when we're paying for the 25 books we just bought, as a way of convincing ourselves the amount doesn't really hurt cause things could be worse. 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬, 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐝𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲.
The MCs don't share the page until 47%. Then they spend most of the time after that in a bloodlust frenzy, barely lucid, and the rest of that time the h is either in a vampire coma or fighting against the bond. And then the h goes off to help their friend. Not with the H again. And then somehow they are in love at the end. Even though they never had a conversation that wasn't about sex or the crisis they were handling. We're told that they've become close... but I never saw when they would have a chance to do that.
Can you really be in love if you don't know how the love of your life takes their coffee? A fated bond, by itself, does not give you any depth of real love.
Bottom Line? Not much romance in this romance. MCs need page time, 10% of the book is not enough. ⭐️⭐️
⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️ - no cheating or sharing - no OW/OM drama - dubcon? I mean?? I don't know how much choice she really had, given the mating frenzy, but she has loads of orgasms... so... - h is virgin (20 yr old) - H is not a virgin (I think??) (approximately 1000 yrs old) - no condoms - blood, gore, innocent death
I absolutely adore the authors so I was excited to realize they had ventured into the PNR genre. This was a mixed bag for me.
The hero is a vampire in search of his mate. The heroine has been brought up in a cult which hates vampires, and is groomed to hate the hero. The first half is them having dream sex, extremely discomforting religious cult behavior including heroine being tortured off page, and the hero finding the heroine. Then things get weirder. He immediately has sex with her, after which she goes into a transformation trance- a cycle where she has sex and kills humans to drink blood. Now during this whole phase she is semi conscious but the hero is able to feel her emotions so they continue to have sex? Anyways, time passes, shes a vampire now, struggles to deal with it, her memories return. One minute she hates him, next it’s love. There’s some drama with a childhood friend and a fellow vampire, which takes way too much space. Also the whole mother and father thing freaked me out. By 70% I was skimming and honestly bored because I couldn’t connect to the characters.
This was total hotchpotch as there was too much happening at once, the scenes cut abruptly and the hero and heroine were pretty much all about sex.
Meh
Safe 2/5

I'll be honest I had mixed feelings about this book I enjoyed the vamps more then well Asher and Chloe as a couple..
Asher was such a good guy for a vampire I'm suprised he didn't end up killing his kids for how they drove him crazy lol. And he would do anything for his soul mate.
My problem is Chloe her push/pull with her attraction towards Asher before she knew the place that raised her was using her. And when she found out she thought about suicide since she wad abandoned again. And when these two finally meet it wad 40ish percent and then chapters of her asleep and becoming a vampire took longer which bored me. The spice and friendship was the only thing that had me going.
The couple leaves with a HFN with a baby on the way and we got a sneak of the next couple
Om drama, no cheating, drama, slight secondary character, sexy times, virgin gal and ??? No virgin
Recommend-maybe Cover-⭐️⭐️⭐️ Heat level-🌶🌶🌶
Slowburn 20h/years old H Push away from h Violence Sorta dub-con Gore Death Mention of suicide No condom Blood kink Feeding Hea Epilogue
Im......disappointed. This was like twilight minus the sparkle.
I didn't feel any connection between the Asher and chloe throughout the book. I kept wondering why its so rare to keep two soul marked women in a city. I got bored and wanted to quit around 77%.
Yeah.....I wanted another ott mine mine mine JP H but didn't get it from this. And they kept effing when she was either feral or about to turn so how much could she have enjoyed it?
Asher has been waiting for his other half for almost 1000 years. He could feel her birth, but despite looking for her for the past 20 years, he has no idea where she is. She's being hidden by the Order a religious sect who's sole purpose is to keep vampires from their mates - the ones who can give them children. Completely brain washed, Chloe believes Asher to be her damnation, but their pull proves to be too much for her to deny.
Overall, I really liked this book and the new world Izzy and Sean created. The storyline was interesting and the cast of characters have me excited about future stories. This was a high tension read with lots a twists that can hold your interest. I did find the beginning a bit slow, but I think that was just part of having to build a new world and the two MCs separation. Also, while Chloe did get on my nerves in the beginning with all her self-flagellation over her fate, she definitely got more likable as the story went on, with her empathy being one of her most endearing traits. The chemistry between Asher and Chloe was great and their smexy times (especially the dream scenes) super hot. I did kind of wish we closed the loop on Chloe's mom, but maybe that will be done in other books if that's a similar thing between the taken girls. Can't wait to get my hands on the next story!
Because my choice in books, as of late, has been frickin' atrocious! I don't know if I just have the worst luck in the world, or if there really is just a severe lack of quality material out there now that I haven't already read.
When I started this book, I was already frustrated because it started off with what I came to find out was a flashforward. This means an entire chapter was presented and then
WAM
Time changes to the past and you have to read 159 pages, just to circle back to the beginning of the book before you can FINALLY make progress.
Mind you, this WHOLE time that you've been reading, the H and h haven't even met each other or interacted yet. There's been only one "DREAM" sequence that they interacted in and even that was in the chapter that's a flash forward!
At this point, even though I'm VERY frustrated, I told myself I'd push through, because, quite frankly, I'm tired of DNF'ing books at this point. I mean, I love to read. Sometimes, it's the only thing that keeps me grounded in my sanity, and the starting and stopping of so many stories just leaves me feeling icky because the fact that they're unfinished makes me feel like I've done something wrong and I just have an overall feeling of yuckiness since it's incomplete. But I also hate to waste my time because I get so little free time as it is. I mean, I'm a single mom of two and work full time!
There are so many books out there and I've only got this one life I'm working with, ya know, so I need to put it down when it's not working...but I digress.. So... I'm pushing forward,
And after reading in my car on my lunch break, making it to page 285, and-- I shit you not-- the MC's haven't even had ONE real conversation with each other yet since he turned her as soon as he got her. Then she spent the next two days and a half in a transitioning coma state, at which point when she wakes up she's basically a feral animal that can only be soothed by blood and the H's magic cock--- I couldn't help but wonder,
So I came here to Goodreads to read the reviews of some of my friends whose opinion I trust most here and the answer is...
So do I need to keep reading this dumpster fire???
2 Stars is being more than generous to whatever this is and just in case you need it said, no, I do not recommend.

I might not be a catholic but this bothered me a bit lol. The holy water scene was a blasphemy imo and I felt like I was sinning so hard when I read that part.
Other than that it was an entertaining book. Kinda funny when Asher was a ‘father’ to a lot of vampires and at first I thought he was a single dad or sth but apparently those ‘children’ of his was men that he turned so they were part of his coven/family.
Chloe naturally became their mom and that was funny to me since she was way younger than all of them.
The ending was pretty nice, she was pregnant, wishing for it to be longer tho, like showing them being parents but considering there would be another book coming out in this universe although with different MCs, we might see snippets of Asher and Chloe in the future.

There isn’t a way to give 0/5 stars but trust when I say: this book was a waste of time. Poor writing, full of cringey cliches, and a barely intelligible plot line. Twilight was better. I only finished to see if it had any redemption and it doesn’t.
Oh wow.... I actually really enjoyed this but I was always the girl who wanted a vampire boyfriend as a preteen and teen so.... yea this book was definitely something adult me really enjoyed. Very sexy, dark, a little cringy at times and isntalovy I'm a bit surprised that I actually did enjoy it. But non the less I liked it and can't wait for the next book in the series.
Mixed feelings The beginning is very good and interesting. This is a twist on a known vampire genre as it claims each vampire has a “fated mate” they “feel” when born / close and they try to get to her. These “marked” females can be turned vampire and are meant to be bound to a specific vampire. At the same time there is a religious Order that keeps the girls hidden from the vampires, under very strict scrutiny and doing all it can to keep them separated knowing this is the “other half of the vampire’s soul”…
So the plot is about Chloe who is “marked” (a known fated mate) who lives 20 years of her life under strict control of the Order, knowing that she must escape and avoid at all costs Asher, her “fated”. Asher on the other hand spends 20 years looking for her and of course eventually they meet.
50% is how he looks for her and she avoids him and what happens when they meet. That was a very good build up with some dark twists and cynicism which I appreciated, especially the callousness humans are referred to. However, later it just seems a bit boring, and sometimes repetitive. Also Chloe goes from totally innocent and sheltered to giving Asher the finger (??), and saying “fuck”, which was completely out of character.
I also cringed internally with reference to “mother” and “father”. I mean come on!! Yes, Asher “sired” some vampires which are grown men he turned. Referring to him as “father” and to them as “children” was ridiculous, but…. Ummm…🤨 But introducing Chloe, a 20 yrs. women turned vampire 5 minutes ago as their “mother”???? And them referring to her as “mother”??? Cringe! Cringe!!! 😖
So yeah… mixed feelings. Felt it had a lot of potential, the writing is flawless and world building interesting but the characters just went a little haywire for me (or to align to the text - frenzy)..
Didn’t see a 2nd book and frankly not sure I’ll continue
I honestly don't know how I feel about this book. The two main characters don't see each other until a fair chunk into the book. And then it's pretty much just Chloe being in her transformation, and then Chloe and Asher are over taken with the need to mate.
In the first half of the book, we find out about the order and Chloe. And then we also get Ashers POV of trying to find his soulmarked.
Also, Asher is fantastic and such a good guy. It's refreshing to see a good guy vampire. I am amazed, though, that he hasn't smacked his kids for how often they drive him up the wall. But it is hilarious, and I could help but laugh a little.
I would have loved to see the main characters talk a bit more about their relationship and have Asher explain what a soulmarked is and work towards getting her love since she went through so much and was so "brainwashed" by the order. All in all, it is a good book. I just wanted a bit more from it, I guess.
vampire H and human h/ fated mates “soulmarked”/ HFN
This ends on a cliffy. I think the next book is about Rapheal and his “soul marked” h as it ended on them but their isn’t really any epilogue for the MCs of this book. I love these authors- their writing is always a hit for me. This fell a little for me, if just didn’t have their normal grasp and I’m feeling unsatisfied at the ending… maybe this is a series that will build and I’ll enjoy the next book.
The things: -fated mates.. this version is called “soul marked” basically the human has a mark on their body to identify them but each marked human is the other half of the vampires soul. This is normally very rare, in this story we learn of atleast 3 soul marks! -H is the head vampire of his coven… he refers to those he’s turned as his “children”. Hey refer to him as “father” and when the h is found and they join, she’s “mother” … wasn’t a fan of how much that was said/done but I mean whatever’s it’s vampires so ok shit can be diff/weird…🤷🏻♀️ -our h is unique and was marked from birth. She’s been living a terrible life of solitude and really abuse from her “church” trying to mask her scent and has to go through rituals to bleed the evil from her blood… it’s not detailed when it happens but you know what it is -The H knows the moment his soulmarked is born and he’s begins searching for her from that moment. I loved how he’s was all about her and was driven to find her. -the H is NOT OTT JP to me… he’s basic possessive. He was very much wrapped around her finger a littler toooooo much for my tastes. I thought he’d be more aggressive knowing these authors write alphas usually.. this one was like.. idk how to describe it. He was alpha but he wasn’t like putting her in her place enough for me. - the h fights their bond/pull a lot. At first it’s bc that’s what she’s been taught and then once she goes with him she still fights him. It was weird to me that she basically threatens to KILL the H, after wanting to save her “friend” from him without like thinking first. Like wtf your gonna leave your SOULMATE, for this “friend” and not ask questions about stuff you can smell and feel happening in front of you? That annoyed me -the smexy times were ok. They were kinda Frenzied in them all but it was ok and I accepted this 🤣 -I liked the side characters and feel like we could see a shifter spin off from this also. Plus more of the sons stories -the storyline/writing was good.. it did feel a bit flat for these authors bc I normally become entrenched in their work this one pulled me in and then started to lose me at about 60% 😔 -HFN… this shows them after their battle and safe and Together and the wording leads to a HEA but we don’t see it or get an epilogue. The last of the book is from Rapheal POV which I think is setting up for book 2. -I felt like there needed to be a novella to lead intro his. There is talk of witches which everyone is scared of bc of a great battle before. There’s shifters near the city who get involved, theirs vampires and diff covens and the religious “order” that is battling against them, using soul marks but we dunno really much more of that. -a lot was left open ended with issac, the order, the other soul marks, and shifters and witches. Soo the ending is just unsatisfactory for me lol.
Over all, it was an ok read. This was not a hit like these authors normally write for me but this is a new world and a new venture and maybe it’s just being built up. This ended without a real HEA. It’s more a HFN, we don’t get an epilogue we dunno what happens after 🤷🏻♀️😑. I felt like I was missing stuff to be honest. I think maybe a prequel needed to be written or maybe even just this needed to be longer to really have more connection to everything . There was wolves, witches, a religious order and vampires plus humans and it was a lot lol. Did I hate it? Nope- i didn’t it was ok Will I buy it? Nah.. I won’t reread it Will I read the next one? Yes! I wanna see if book 2 connects better for me and possibly see if we get more information about the MC from this book. I’ll def read book 2.
This was much better than I was expecting. I had a preconceived notion that it would be a little cheesy or Twilight like. It wasn't in the least. The world building was very well done and left the doors open for more mythical creatures. For that alone, I'm excited. I love the idea of separate stories for the secondary characters but I love the idea of witches and werewolves too.
There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out but I think that will come out more in future books where The Order comes into play more.
My reviews are always spoilerish. Because I like to delve into things. So take that as you will.
Tropes and Kinks Vampires, age gap, fated mates, the church is evil, insta love, touch her and you die, wanna be found family, blood play, Dubcon, virgin h, pregnancy trope at the end.
Spice The spice was okay. It was kind of icky at times... I mean, the heroine literally dies and he comes inside of her as she's dying. She doesn't stay dead though so that's okay but it was still kinda fucking weird. And for being vampires they were pretty vanilla. The real Spice happens halfway through the book where you are bombarded with it and then it just goes away and no more Spice sprinkled through the rest of the book.
Characters Asher was fine. I kind of fucking love him. He's crazy and twisted and so very vampire Chloe was kind of just there. I mean I really didn't fucking know anything about her. She was so plain and boring I didn't like her chapters. She was trying to be a strong willed character but she fell flat for me. She also went from hating Asher to being completely in love with him in a single page. There are so many side characters it was hard to keep them straight or give a shit about any of them.
Plot Vampires are given mates they must search for and find. It's their other half of their soul. Which I was kind of into but it fell a little flat. There's some crazy turf war going on and the villain of the book was kind of an after thought in my opinion. I mean technically everyone is a villain except for Ash, so I guess that was kind of fun. I did enjoy when Chloe was turning though. Her blood lust and crazy shit was entertaining to read.
Did this book scratch my vampire itch? Kind of. Would I recommend this? Probably not. It was just okay. Not terrible, but I probably won't be delving into another one of these, even though there aren't any. I'm not sad I read it. I was mostly entertained.
My first book from these authors and I thought the writing was very well done and the characters were really interesting. Asher is hilarious. The author’s description says that each book from this series will focus on a different couple and because I feel like Asher and Chloe’s story is not complete, I’m not fully satisfied. This would have been a 5 star for me otherwise. On that note, I seriously loved the crap out of this and will definitely keep reading the series.
Started the book hooked. Ended barely able to keep any interest at all. Great premise, but I seriously considered breaking my anti DNF rule the more I read.
There was nothing backing up their great and powerful love other than the fates. I think they barely spoke to each other, so I just wasn’t rooting for them. The storyline bounced all over the place, with things that seemed important never to be discussed again. I could barely keep up.. and quite frankly, I didn’t care to.
The banter between all the characters is hilarious. The Snow White reference had my laughing probably way too hard. Love this new world Izzy and Sean made, can’t wait for the next book.
Wow! This is an intense new series. I love this world that Sean and Izzy have created. Asher and Chloe, are both very complicated in their own way. Lots of action, intense scenes and steamy. We are also introduced to a whole cast of very interesting characters. I’m so excited for what is next.
1.5 stars. The second half dissolved so fast. I mean actually what was that? If it had been as good as the first half this could have been a 3 star read but wow do not recommend
