Staggering clear of the final showdown with Drakainis, Halek Cain gets bad news. Scheid is on his way to petition the Sovereignty of Oroth to become their emergency dictator. With hundreds of worlds and billions of people to feed his grand armada, the man will be unstoppable.
What’s a Reaper to do but light a cigar, snap out a cybernetic blade, and saunter into the heart of enemy territory. Can he and his friends infiltrate the Oroth home world and stop their ultimate enemy from seizing absolute power? Will they survive the final battle that follows?
One thing is certain, the last Reaper and his friends are going home no matter what it takes. This time, they want a peace that lasts.
Ride or die with Halek Cain and his crew in this final instalment of The Last Reaper series.
Schneid is going to pretend that the Drakainas is still a threat and get the Oroth empire to commit warriors and ships to his side. The reaper has to find a way to show the true picture. This will be the final showdown as Schneider nearly destroys the ship which Elise is on and lays siege to the fleet leading to Cain taking over as Elise's there Labour's are unknown and they need a figurehead. Schneid is also attempting to get the Z1 super weapon for himself. Cain of course has to stop him eventually in a mano o mano throwdown.... There's plenty of fighting ranging from space battles, sword fights and one on one combat. There's also suspense, intrigue, political maneuvering, mini-bears(!), the Sangrel, unlikely allies And plenty of destruction in the final story of the Last Reaper.
Another excellent series comes to a close. After all this time together, the characters feel like real people. They were given a satisfying ending with this last volume and it kept me riveted throughout. I like to imagine that after all they've been through, maybe the Jellybird crew finally gets to relax. As if Hal could ever lead a life without destruction and mayhem.
I am genuinely saddened to reach the end of this journey. The Last Reaper has been an amazing sci-fi action fest from start to finish. A huge thank you to J.N. Chaney and Scott Moon for creating such an epic collection—this will easily go down as one of my favorite space operas of all time. I didn't want it to end, but what a ride it was! If you want high-octane sci-fi action, this is it. Chaney and Moon created something special with Halek and the crew. An epic conclusion to an incredible series. This collection is a masterclass in sci-fi action. It’s rare to find a series that stays this good all the way through. Thank you again to the authors for the adventure—Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed this series, all 15 books. It kept me engaged and I didn't feel like it ever got repetitious. I love the humor, the action, and the development of each of the main characters.
I think my only critique is that the books are too short. I think they could have maybe put a few of them together and it would have worked out fine. But that's only a small detail.
This series has been a favorite of mine and this book is bittersweet in that it seems to be the last of the reaper. It felt like a closer for Cain and crew not without a twist at the end. The author does a great job of pacing the story and they are always a great read.
Once again I highly recommend this series and the author.
The perfect ending for an outstanding series. I am going to miss reading about Halek, Bug, Path, Tank and the rest. This series is very pleasing to my discerning mind and imagination. Just the right amount of descriptive writing, communication and action. Thank you Mr Moon and Mr. Chaney. Now back to writing for me!
This was a great series. The whole series read like it was one big book and you could not tell where one started and stopped. In this book there was a great battle and they were outnumbered by a lot . You will have to read it to find out what happens. Cain also finds out what a mini bear is finally. I recommend this series to everyone into space syfi.
The fight continues with surprising twist and turns. In the struggle to stop a madman’s evil domination, friends and loved ones are lost, new one emerge. The odds a truly stacked against the Last Reaper and his vastly outnumbered allies
This was an interesting way to wrap up the series. Didn't expect the series in space military warfare to take a hard right into politics, not in the last book, but here it is.
I enjoyed binge reading this entire series. Exciting, fun & worth your time. I always wish there was more at the end of a good series, but these authors' other series look intriguing.
Kudos to J.N. and Scott on another great Reaper collaboration. It takes more than a few bad guys to take out the last Reaper. Read to see what he goes through.
I was sorry to see this series come to an end, or has it? Really enjoyed the character development and humor throughout all of the episodes. Great work by the authors.
It ran it's course, it came to a point where the loose ends are tied and the adventure has come to a conclusion, I just hope the authors accept that It was a good last book, assuming it is. Hal does his usual by the seat of his pants warrior stuff and at one point actually becomes a responsible adult, but it doesn't last long The rest of the gang are all here and they all have endings you would expect given their characters Overall 15 really good books
