Storm is book one in the Elite Rogue Alien Warriors series by Hattie Jacks.

This is my first taste of Jacks and I wasn’t impressed. It features primal play. The story writing was a bit boring and I was confused on the plot and world building. I did enjoy the sexy winged aliens.

As for the Hero and Heroine they both have issues that made me not fall for them nor did I hate them. They just were. The Hero declares his love one after another and it's way too much. Then the word prey is over used in the dialogue. Last, the H&H relationship just didn’t feel healthy.

After reading a few reviews it turns out this is a spin-off sereis. Had I known this I would have started with the first sereis and then I'd have some context.

I am curious about the world and the liberation they just had. I also enjoyed the nesting aspect. Their were things I didn’t like, but also things I found enjoyable. We will see if I continue with this author and sereis.

Fans of primal play and sexy aliens with wings might enjoy this. Turns out Storm was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

I truly enjoyed Strykr and Kat's story. Strykr was a work in progress. As the Commander of the Elite Rogue Alien Warriors he has his own insecurities and self doubts to work through until the day he found his human mate Kat. Kat is taken on an adventure of a lifetime. After being abducted by evil aliens and left on a space station wandering in orbit she thought she lost everything and was going to die alone. Only to meet a Large, Handsome, Winged Alien male with two 🍆. Yes…..TWO 🍆😈.

Nonstop Adventure, Freedom, Facing your Fear, Love, Redemption is on every page of Storm. Strykr was definitely Alien Bae 🥰. I would definitely read this one again.

I Highly Recommend this Book 🍆💦🔥

Kay is 35 and she’s recovering from a corporate job that was just. too. much. for her. She’s turned her life into a peaceful place of jewelry creation, but don’t get attached because she gets nabbed by scaly lizards and taken into alien world. I say all this because her background is alluded to quite a bit, and does impact her future relationships and worldview. She thinks: “I am as much a disaster area as the situation in which I find myself.” But it’s not that bad. ““Where are the humans, you piece of shit!” I shake the laser at him, and it goes off in my hand, firing a bolt into the floor directly between Grid’s legs.” So funny. And a bit badass.

The hero is coming off a devastating liberation of his entire planet and has been given the command of an elite, and wildly fucked up, fighting force. I think the interactions with his guys was my favorite part. “Half an hour later, I have seven happy males, all having had some hot food and all looking very fluffy.”

This book is listed as number one in the series, but it’s actually a spin off series. Whhhhhhyyyyyy meeeeeee??! So now I have to go back and read the prior books and I don’t like that. It’s like dating an ex, or wearing dirty underwear.

Oh! Speaking of, these guys are like endowed. There are two. That’s all I’m gonna say. 😳

The first nest is hilarious. Omg read this book just for that. Hilarious.

“My big growly alien is an interior decorator with a penchant for sparkles. Who knew?”

Is “urban conurbation” quite right? Just pick one. #redundancy

Then there are the wings.

““They look so strong, I thought they might be hard, like steel.” I hold back a groan as she delves deeper. “They are incredible, beautiful. Elegant weapons,” she says, almost as if she’s talking to herself.”

I love how their relationship develops. How he likes to chase and she likes to be chased. It’s hot and sweet at the same time. “Because I’m a dirty piece of prey who, frankly, hasn’t seen action in a long time.”

I really liked this one and read it straight through without going to another book. Lately that’s been difficult, a me and focus issue. But not with this book.

This is the first book in the Elite Warriors series, which is a spin-off from the Rogue Warriors series, and I could NOT BE MORE EXCITED! We came across this group in Ryak's book, and I was really looking forward to seeing what would happen next; thankfully, I was not let down.

Protos has been defeated and now these mighty Gryn warriors need to start rebuilding their world as free Gryn. Only things are not going to be as simple as expected… there is a new enemy lurking. Stryker and his elite team of warriors have work to do. But first… Stryker needs to win the heart of his eregri, Kat.

Kat has no idea how much longer she will be able to survive on the derelict space station where she is now stranded. Ike, a tiny robot that survived the fall of protos, has become her companion. She is close with Ike. On board that ship, she anticipates that her life would come to an end, but one day, she hears an explosion and discovers that huge aliens with winged bodies had boarded the vessel. The landscape of Kat's life is about to shift... ...as is Stryker's when he catches a whiff of his mate.

The book Storm was quite interesting to read, and it makes me eager to find out more about the warriors who are attempting to restore their world. The world-building is excellent, the characters will work their way into your heart, and the steam... wow, if you have a thing for primal, you will be happy every time Stryker says "Run little Prey" because it's HAWT.

I definitely recommend and I am going to keep reading! Happy reading y’all!

4&1\2 exciting 🌟's for Storm💖🔥

This is a new spin off series of the Gtyn and its all about an elite team " special forces" lead by Strykr. He's massive with claws that can tear you in half with a deep addition for fighting. Strykr and his team of fierce and yes adorable warriors are on a new mission after the defeat of Proto. They need to go to the space station and see if there is a way of defending the planet from outside enemies. When they land on the space station they never dream they'd find a human female and Strykr never dreamed she would be his fated mate. Kat was abducted from earth months ago she has high anxiety and absolutely hates conflict. She's been alone on the station for awhile she was experimented on and she knows there were other humans on board with her. The lizard aliens hurt them but someone or something destroyed what was on the station leaving her alone with her little pet bot until the Gryn board the station and her life changes again! Strykr and Kat have a few misunderstandings while they navigate a relationship and trying to defend the planet. Danger and violence are around every corner. Strykr a d Kat grow closer and so does the whole unit. A sense of family unfolds and a true sense of belonging is what they create for themselves and the other warriors in the Elite unit. Awesome story highly recommend and I'm looking forward to there next book!🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥

Kidnapped from Earth by Aliens. Evil aliens taking people from a place they shouldn't. Taking them for their own gain. Then taken again. These women find themselves in a nightmare of alien creatures who treat them badly. Being rescued by clawed, winged, fanged alien Angels. Can they be trusted?

These alpha scary beautiful warriors are looking for a better way of life, a life free of slavery, tyranny, and dictators fighting a war they hope to one day win. It is amongst this hostile enemy that encounter the fated eregri. A place where woman have not been for a very long time.

Love this series.

Hmm, the storyline was fine, but the story writing was so so. I had trouble keeping up at times, and was confused at others. The dialect was also off. Not a fan of this writers style, I’m afraid 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't understand. The male lead fights in some underground fight club and he feels compelled to do it but also is super worried about anyone finding out. But the way things were written it seemed like everyone already knew. I essentially gave up on this one simply because it was hard to follow.

🔥 “You can hide, little prey, but I will find you… and I will devour you.”
~~~
Strykr is the Commander of the Elite Gryn Warriors. He’s one strong, confident, fearsome, dangerous and deadly male with a dark secret. But there is so much more to him than meets the eye. Strykr is so honorable, fiercely protective, sexy, alluring, possessive and absolutely irresistible. I couldn’t help but adore everything about him!
Kat is one sensitive, kind and compassionate woman. After being kidnapped by aliens, she’s now stuck alone on a spaceship with a small bot named Ike. I loved that, despite trying to avoid conflicts, she was so fierce and brave when facing all the dangers thrown her way. And she was so sweet, accepting and caring with all the Gryn warriors. I loved her so, so much!
I absolutely adored the development of Kat and Strykr’s relationship! In the beginning, it took some time for Kat to trust the alien predator that appears on the abandoned ship. But even without being able to communicate, their attraction was strong and undeniable from the start. Those two were such a perfect match and I loved their banters and teasing. Even more, they made such a fantastic team and were so supportive of one another. And when they finally gave in to their attraction, the passion they shared was blazing hot and absolutely delicious. Honestly, I’d let Strykr chase me anytime, anywhere!
In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! Ustokos is free from Proto but rebuilding the planet is not an easy task and dangers and betrayals lurk behind every corner. The new enemy, the non-stop action and the suspense kept me glued to the pages till the very end. Even more, I adored the Elite Warriors - they were a battle-hardened, loyal, protective, supportive, fun and absolutely adorable bunch of males.
I loved the Rogue Alien Warriors series and I was sure that the spin-off would be fantastic! I was proven absolutely right. The story is spectacular! It’s filled with fast-paced action, danger, adventure, twists, humor, acceptance, redemption, blazing hot romance and magnificent characters.
I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to see what happens next!
Good
Strykr and Kat
WARNING: small cliffhanger about a 3/5 on the trauma scale. (It would have been a 4/5, but there is a small snippet from the next book in series that helps!).
This spin-off from the Rogue Alien Warriors series, features the men from Ryak’s unit- known as the “elites”. It’s better if you’ve read the Rogue Alien Warriors series first, since they do set the scene, explain the background story, and there are some mentions of events from those books mentioned in this one.
* * *
When Strykr discovers a lone human female on a space station, he recognizes in her his fated mate, but she isn’t quite like the other humans.
When Kat proves to be the one thing that can help the Gryn in their new world, Strykr has to earn her trust, while Kat has to find her strength…
Strykr is the lead warrior for his small unit, but he’s never really felt worthy of the position. Part of that is the mind games that Proto played with the Gryn, and part of it is the things he has had to do for his job- they’ve both left their mark.
It’s not until he meets Kat that he begins to feel worthy.
Kat is an extreme sensitive. Unable to handle stressful situations well, she feels weak and is prone to depression. Her time with the “lizard aliens” didn’t help much, but after meeting Strykr she finds her center and her strength.
This was a sweet romance, the first in this spin-off series. It’s action packed, with a few sexy scenes and plenty of adventure. It marks a new start for the Gryn and their human friends, which means there is also a lot of setup in this book- not all of it unexpected if you’ve read all of the Rogue Alien books including the novella featuring Lyon.
It’s a hugely entertaining read, and a lot of fun. Star of the book award is shared between Ike and Ayar, the former for being cute, the latter just cracked me up!
This one is recommended for SFR fans- especially those who have enjoyed sci-fi tv shows and films, because those are often referenced!
P.S. I remember the Adventure Game, and loved it as a kid- especially the bit at the end!
I got me book 1 and book 4 to check out the series and the Author. And I am done with both.
Not worth any star at all, had to give 1 star to write a review.
This is something for low IQ. Flat Monotone Boring- repeat
This book 1 , is AWFUL and very very BORING. The characters are under development, boring and primitive. Flat.
There is no real world build also.
The conversations are low IQ in both books. Primitive dumb stuff. Even the sex scenes are boring and not interesting at all.
I kept skipping and skipping.. skipped also over the sex stuff too for there is NOTHING to catch your interest at all.. the writing is so very boring. You would think a Author that gave a guy 2 dicks would be able to make something out of that.. but nope even this is boring and uninteresting to read.
Dragging on and on and the same bs they repeat, primitiv nonsensical dumb conversations/ thoughts repeated over and over again.
I just had to stop trying to get to the end. If you read a story and you have to skip and skip and it is so very boring... you just give up. It is frustrating and not fair tot he readers.
In the good old days there was a control , authors and the writing. Now everyone seems to just throw books on the market , the editing falls flat, there is no quality control. Readers get ripped off
You check out the reviews and there you easy see they are manipulated also.
This is my honest opinion. And I am tired of this rip off. I really am.
You think the series gets better? Think again: book 4 this was also absolute nonsense, and nothing in the book is good. Not even the sex scenes. I did not finished it. Both characters got on my nerve. Boring and annoying, so I gave up. This was like watching a bad theater 🎭, what you do? You get up and leave.
The editing is so bad, I thought at first the Author gave the Aliens a speech impediment !! Awful.
I can not recommend the books/ this Series / Author.
Strykr and Kat's Story . . .
Gryn warrior Commander Strykr boards an abandoned Proto space station above the planet Ustokos as his team looks for tech that might protect the planet from enemies. Strykr immediately scents something enticing, but no one else seems to notice it. Then Mylo is attacked by something, found bleeding, wounded, and unconscious. They suspect a bot did this and begin to search the station for it. When it comes at them, Ayar fires his weapon and puts a hole in the room as their air escapes. Both of them run toward their ship. As Strykr reaches to close the station’s airlock so they can disengage, he sees a human female and recognizes his “Eregri”. She is his mate! Just as he jumps forward to grab her, the airlock closes behind him.
Kat Bolton has been alone on the station since it was abandoned, except for her little flying robot, Ike, who is her constant companion. The huge alien looked furious, so she ran and escaped from him. She asked Ike what it was, but his answer made no sense to her. (Gryn sounded like ‘grin’ and why would she want to grin at it?) That alien thing with wings and claws looks like a 7-foot raptor but without a beak. She runs off looking for food and water, then she will hide. Instead, she gets a corrosive chemical on her legs and has to rinse it off with water, and the alien catches up. She runs again and hears a frightening new sound that even Ike seems afraid of. Strykr hears it too and runs to find her before the vicious joykill bot attacks her. Will he get to her in time? Will they get off the space station somehow since the airlock was damaged and his crew cannot reconnect to get them away? Can he convince Kat she is his mate?
There are fabulous books out there and there are books written by Hattie Jacks. When I have a Hattie Jacks book come across my e-reader I know I'm in for a treat and STORM is no exception.
Kat is stuck on a space station - alone except for a small bot named Ike. He is her everything - he keeps her company, he keeps her safe and he keeps her fed. When a space ship docks at her station she is terrified she is going to be recaptured by aliens - the reason she was in the station in the first place. But what comes through the docking door is nothing like the aliens who kidnapped her from Earth. This guy is huge, he is wide and he has wings.
She hides and during a recce of her station one of Strykr's unit of fighters blasts a hole in the station to the point of life endangerment.
The journey Kat is taken on by Strykr is one filled with adventure, emotion, wonderment, and a whole raft of new sensations - including sexual. It is also a journey of discovery - both for Kat and also for Strykr. All he's ever known is fighting, but KAt opens a whole new life for him. He has his demons to fight. He also has to stay "proper" for his unit of fighters and they discover new things as well - thanks to Kat. Barriers are broken through, trust is gained, and respect is nurtured by everyone of them, human and alien alike
The story is one I will read over and over and I know I will enjoy it every time.
Highly recommended
This was an interesting start to the spin-off series. Initially, I had a very high interest and the main character stryker. However, I feel like elements of his personality changed between how he was portrayed in the final book of the first series and how he's portrayed now. In the first series I saw him more as a brooding secretive mysterious type who had a desire for perfectionism. However, when he presents himself as the main character in this book, it almost feels as if he doesn't know what to do with himself. His past of fighting in the pits as well as what proto did to him is very unclear and because there's so much haziness around that backstory it's hard for me to really believe anything that he's going through. Then I also take a big issue with our main heroine. She just feels like a people pleaser and a pushover who really doesn't have much backbone. There isn't really any element of braveness or anything to admire about her yet. For some reason he seems to admire her a lot. To me she is like a cookie cutter depiction of what most helpless heroines are. It gave me the vibe where you're kind of. Not sure why he would ever want to be with her other than the fact that his mating instinct is present. If his mating instinct wasn't present, I think that she wouldn't even be on his radar. So it was an interesting start. I just feel like the direction of the characters in this one really didn't give me what I was looking for out of connection and chemistry.
“EREGRI!” I roar out. She is my mate, and her decision to flee has tripped something primal in me. She is prey. And she is mine. “There’s nowhere you can go that I can’t find you, my sweet mate.”
Say what?! Strykr, phew! The man is a beast! If I thought the last series was smoking this one is explosive!
***Spoiler Alert***
Strykr is the leader of an elite team and Kat is alone on a space station with nothing but her wits and a helpful andriod.
When Strykr's trigger happy team member blasts a hole in the hull of the space station, Strykr and Kat rely on their little andriod buddy to get them out safely.
Two problems - one, they can't communicate with each other and two, all tech is considered hostle being that it was an evil force that took over the planet before the Gryn defeated them.
While trying to uncover a defense system the evil andriods had, Strykr falls to the temptation the fighting puts brings, abandoning his female for the urge for viloence and death.
Kat, who suffers from panic attacks, is forced to stand tall and strong in order to rescue not only her man but other humans that are being held by a new threat.
The fire on this one is hot - 🔥🔥🔥 - and the spice a strong 🌶🌶🌶.
100% recommend this book. Strykr is dark and delicious!
Well I was already a good bit in before I realized this was a break off series. It did a great job of catching you up if you jumped in here so I didn’t feel the need to stop and go back to the original story. I don’t think I will read any more into this one until I have gone back though. And after I try out the first in series I might not come back at all.
The over the top declarations of love one after the other after the other was cavity inducing. It’s not what I’m in to at all. Then you top that off with the over use of the word prey…… replace that with baby and if a dude called me that 20 times in a row I would vomit. It’s one of those hs sugar sweet, entirely nauseating relationships that make everyone around them grimace, poke fun and comment on how fake and unhealthy that is. It’s not sustaining and is super immature. I absolutely hated these parts.
I will say the world was cool, I wanted to learn more about the world they just liberated themselves from. I loved the nesting and the inclusion of a queer couple that felt super organic.
There was a lot to dislike but there were bits that were really good. This hopefully is a one off and so I’ll dip my foot back in to see if it’s worth sticking around.
When Kat is abducted, to then be abandoned at a station with only a tiny robot, Ike, as her friend, she doesn't expect to be rescued by a hot alien with angel wings.
This book was just okay for me. It actually is a spin-off series from Rouge Alien Warriors, so I felt coming into the book I already was missing key features. You definitely can read this book as a new series, but I think probably reading the first series would have been better to understand the world and characters.
I did like Kat a lot, and thank GOD we are given a FMC that is not twenty-something. She is 35 years old, and acts like an adult. It is nice to read about an FMC who is not super young, so props to the author!
The story and plot kept me interested more than the romance. This is definitely insta-love at its finest. They basically are full on mates by 35%. There was spice throughout and decently written. I mean he has two 🍆🍆, so who can complain?
Ike is #1 in this book. Pet robot for the win!
This is the second book I've enjoyed by this author with this sci-fi alien romance genre.
I liked the way the names, places, situations were different enough to take me into another reality without going overboard with weird names, spellings, and alien sounding words. I've tried other books and had to stop reading for that reason alone. I guess I sound out the names in my head as I read, and names and places that are unpronounceable hurt my head.
Exciting meet cute between our heroine, Kat, and the winged, clawed, sharp toothed hero, Strykr.
I also loved Kat's AI robot sidekick and companion Ike, and the way "he" helped Kat survive at the space station.
A common enemy lizard alien race along with some shared backstory with killer bots made this an interesting, easy to follow sci-fi adventure.
Strykr referred to Kat as "My female" almost immediately, and strange as it seemed, Kat was physically attracted to her alien savior.
A fun and fast paced read!.
I am so happy that the Gryn have not finished their stories yet. I loved the original so much and I was so happy when I found out that there was another series that they would star in. Strykr is a force to be reckoned with. He lives for his missions and this one has taken him and the team to the abandoned (cough cough) Proto station. Except that well it isn't totally devoid of life. Kat has been trying to make ends meet and isn't inclined to trust Strykr just on his say so when she meets him. He knows that she is his mate and she most definitely ruffles his feathers but she needs a bit more of convincing on this. She is a very steady character rather than a warrior woman but that is what Strkr needs more than anything. They are very sweet together and it is clear that they have both been missing something in their lives, each other. They just have to find their right balance.
I loved this.
This is the first book of a brand new sci-fi romance and a spin-off from the Rouge Alien Warriors series. Commander Stryker is ordered to find out what the anomaly is that's orbiting their planet Ustokos. Kat has been stranded on the space station and she happens to be the anomaly. Love the storyline. It was well written with great characters. There is action and some danger with the Drahon, an enemy. Once Stryker sees the human female, Kat, he knows that she's his "Eregri" his mate. There is an evil bot that's out to attack Kat who's been alone on the station with IKE the robot. Will Stryker reach her in time before the killer bot? Stryker and Kat have a sweet story and some pretty hot steam. Highly recommend this story.
Gryn warriors are back in this first book in the Elite Rogue Alien Warrior series, and they’re just as hot, steamy and intense when it comes to their fated mates. Stryker (H) leads his team to a now abandoned Proto space station flying above planet Ustokos. He finds his mate, Kat (h), barely making by and has to work to convince her to partially trust him and get her off the now unstable space station. Kat has to learn to adapt to her new life with the Gryn and to her relationship with Stryker. Kat helps provide balance to Stryker and plays an active role in helping Stryker and his team. They are faced with non-stop action that poses challenges to them all along the way, yet they still have plenty of time for some very steamy sessions in their respective domains to reach their HEA.
"All we have to do now is rebuild our once great planet."
Strykr is leader of an Elite team... a team he has a few choice words for, and whose faults he is all too aware of, and yet, what a team! If I ever need saving, these are the Elites you can send.
Kat thought being abducted by aliens was bad... then she was... forgotten about? Abandoned? She's making it from one day to the next when Strykr bursts into her life and everything changes.
This kindle unlimited book is full of vibrant, interesting characters, with an imperfect leader who strives to lead well, and in Kat finds the balance he didn't know he was seeking, and the traits that make them a dynamic power couple.
A New Beginning, A New Battle
This story returns us to Ustokos, with a new crew and new human females in need of rescue (or needed to rescue their worthy mates). This is Stryker and Kat’s story; she’s been abducted and then abandoned on a spaceship, when Stryker and his team board to gather tech. Stryker and Kat get off to a rocky start (no translator tech) but even when they can communicate, there’s still plenty of hurdles. I loved this new crew of Gryn, they’re a little bit maverick and a touch nuts, but they sure are fun to read. I’m really looking forward to the next books in this series!
I loved this book. It's a spinoff of the original series, and just as wonderful. Great world building. The story has action, suspense, and danger. It also has wonderful characters- both main and supporting. Kat and Strykr have such wonderful chemistry. I enjoyed their first meeting. It was exciting, and a bit dangerous. I love when alien novels begin and the characters are unable to communicate at first because of a language barrier and have to rely on their actions to convey their meaning; and we get a little of that here- though not for long. A fun adventure of a read. I'm looking forward to more in this new series. 5 stars.
A great story I thoroughly enjoyed reading. This story is about Commander Stryker, leader of Elite group of soldiers who orders are to acquire the anomaly orbiting the planet Ustokos and Kat who is stranded on the anomaly, the space station. For the first book about the Gryn I've read, I found the groundwork detailed and the writing well done with an engaging plot and the characters likable with their interactions between them as the romance progressed, then there's the action with an enemy the Drahon. Overall, this was an enjoyable story that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.
