He sat behind me in Intergalactic High School, pulling on my braids with silver-tipped claws. Knocking my books to the ground and smoke-laughing at my dismay. He was always there, lurking around, scaring away all my possible dates.

And now, years later I’m all grown up and independent, about to start a new position on the Omega 9 space station and this arrogant, satanic-looking Hyrrokin shows up again in my life—this time demanding that I become his bound.

Horace and Cherise

Horace bullied Cherise all through high school. He summons her to his office. He asks her to marry him. He also explains the reasons for the bullying. He meets family he never knew. Quick read with a HEA.

I expected to dislike this installment; enemies-to-lovers is not my favorite subgenre and must be handled in a way that makes sense for me to enjoy it. This one didn't quite make the mark, but I don't hate it.
There were many other ways Horase could have achieved his goals (as Charise points out a few times) without being an @$$hat of a bully. Regardless of his reasons and excuses, the fact that she ends up happily in love with him in a matter of hours is just ridiculous.

But as is the way of this series, all's well that ends well.

This series is one of my favorites! I just devour these books about Hyrrokin hotties and their human mates. I am impressed by Mills writing. Each book takes on a new character with an inventive plot. The read is EXCELLENT! Here we meet Horace a self made entrepreneur who has been crushing on Cherise from high school. Circumstances have brought them back together and the read explodes! Hot romance aside, I would read this one for the enjoyable plot. Download and enjoy ❤️❤️❤️.

3.5 stars. Cherise, the female human lead, was bullied by Horace, the male alien lead, all through high school, though she always fought back. Now an adult, she’s dismayed to be summoned to Horace’s office and told he expects her to marry him to repay her father’s gambling debts. And she doesn’t believe him when he tells he’s always wanted her…

This short story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy ex-bully romance. I don’t like bully romance but I do like this author’s writing. I enjoyed the independence and determination Cherise showed, as well as Horace’s genuine remorse and willingness to make amends, and the intense attraction between them that made attempting the relationship worth her effort. I appreciated that she didn’t immediately forgive him but worked through her justified resentment and anger as well as hearing his explanation.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cherise (h) is shocked to find herself at the mercy of her former bully, Horace (H), yet again. After years of making her high school existence miserable, Horace is forcing her to be his bond mate as payment for her father's debts. She wants to resist his charm and arrogant nature, even as she finds herself attracted to him. Horace has always wanted Cherise and will do whatever it takes to finally make her his, even as he must work to convince her of his true feelings for her. If there's a Hyrrokin around, there'll be plenty of hot and steamy action. I feel like Cherise forgave Horace a little too readily, but then again bully tropes aren't my favorites. His high school bullying was too successful for my liking and having experienced bullying many years ago I have to say that I still haven't forgiven those individuals and never intend to do so.

This was a great example of how when someone bullies you, it's really because they like you. Horace knew that Cherise was more to him than he could afford, given his circumstances in high school, but when he got his second chance at impressing her, he went full out. Of course, after being bullied so much by him, her trust in him was zilch. She showed him how his treatment of her impacted her and he grovelled pretty hard to make up for it. They had a fair bit of emotional baggage to work through but otherwise, this was a lighthearted and entertaining romance :D

I thought the pacing was really good in this one - good characters, solid OTT plot, still like the world. The ending went a little off the rails for me, and I think this might better be described as a stalker romance than a bully one, but enjoyed this overall

Horace and Cherise's Story . . .

Horace Brimstone is a Hyrrokin (think of a Satan lookalike, red skin, horns, barbed tail, etc.) who sat behind Cherise Monroe in Intergalactic High School and tormented her constantly over the 3 years they were there on Omega 9. He pulled her hair, dumped her books on the floor, and laughed at her frustration with his incessant bullying.

Now she has to talk to her former bully who owns a security consultation business that protects the financial interests of big corporations. Her father owes money and is having trouble paying his bills. But since she didn’t have an appointment, the receptionist virtually ignores her, saying she will fit her in… sometime. Cherise feels it’s bullying all over again, but she has no choice except to wait. Her dad will lose his business otherwise. Two hours later, there is still no room in his schedule for her. Every time the receptionist looks over at her, she smirks and doesn’t bother to even offer her a drink of water. So when the next client exits the office, Cherise raced ahead of the receptionist, runs into the office, and slams the door in the woman’s face. In response, Horace told the receptionist to cancel the rest of today’s and all of tomorrow’s appointments. Then he approached Cherise. Her father had a gambling problem and was in a casino owned by Horace. He bet his business and his home – and lost. There is only one way to pay off all that he owes – by Cherise agreeing to be Horace’s mate!

Cherise has never feared Horace and she immediately screamed at him that he was crazy. But he had scented her earlier and told her he knew she still wanted him, from high school to now. He had bullied her because he craved her attention. But all through high school he had to act mean to her because his father, the Don of the Hyrrokin mafia, was looking for a weakness to force him home and into that life. Now Horace has power and a security company to keep her safe, as he had, unknown to her, while she was at the university. No matter how many times she says no to marrying him, her scent (indicating ‘yes’) gets stronger. Then he’s taking her to the courthouse to make it legal. Will she agree to the ceremony? Is she ready for the HEA he has always wanted for them?

I love the story overall, but my negative is that I felt the author kept beating us over the head about bullying and being overweight and any other uncomfortable topic that came along. Bringing it up once was enough. She did a good job letting us see the effects of bullying. The first time thoroughly hearing about it was just fine. After that, those who “catch on” quickly may find it annoying. But I still love the series and I’m definitely hooked!

Her Alien Bully is the story of Horace and Cherise Brimstone.

Tropes:
He knows what he wants
Right person, wrong time
Mafia incorporated
HEA and a offspring on the way
Lock Tech owner x finances specialist
Hot knows what he wants, entrepreneur millionaire hyrrokin hero
Sassy hothead innocent and intelligent heroine
Both are virgins

She is called by Horace to his company Lock Tech and is made to wait for 2 hours and finally she's had enough and takes her opportunity and goes into the room where she meets him and is enraged. She yells that his snotty secretary wouldn't let her in for 2 hours and he is enraged at his secretary and said that if he knew she was here he wouldn't have made her wait and now that all is calm they get to talking as to why she is here. He said he needs an heir and bound when that's not true, he's been obsessed with her since high school and knew she was his mate and to make sure no one knew he bullied her till the point of fear. But he grinded hard and made his company Lock Tech but he's still a dick. He persuades her to be his bound and bear his offspring saying that her fathers debt is to be paid when her father really is a dick and a ambler and sold her to Horace to pay his debt off. She accepts his terms to get married and they do but she's not ready to consummate it as of yet. Her body is but her mind and heart are still stuck on why he did it. He explains how he always loved her and to make sure no one knew he bullied her or smth like that to keep other men away from here not knowing she loved him too. They go to dinner and see her dad with a young woman who is so conceited and her dad has the audacity to walk away like he didn't sell her off for his own benefit, she finds out about being sold and isn't mad at Horace which is strange but during dinner he also explains how his mom got into this relationship with his dude named Jakyl Brimestone and she was his bound, mind you he's the head of the whole hyrrokin mafia and she was a diplomat who worked with the government and hearing how his other bound was killed, she feared for the safety of her child so she ran away and hid no matter how many times he begged her to come back because he was excited to have a child but she worried for her son's safety but he supported him from afar and even offered him a position as an enforcer to which he said no. During this dinner, Prince shows up to do his smell thingy for his mate and Horace is enraged at the audacity he has and the dude is left with a bloody mess but all is good and they all have dinner together with Prince, Horace, and the enforcers Jak and Roger and they all have a good time and the half brothers have a good time getting to know each other and Prince tells him he never knew and that his mother died when he was a toddler and Horace was like so yeah, I'm like a couple years younger. End of, they go home and both are tipsy. They wake up and one thing leads to another and they have arrived to pound town delicacies which I can say are quite orgasmic. After that they go to work and she meets everyone and he built her a dream office based on her wish list on her laptop and bought her clothes and decorated his whole house as what she wanted on her wish list omg. She gives him some head and asks for a human wedding with lots of people and she is now pregnant with his offspring so yayayayay.

Solid 4.5/5

Quotes:
My female was waiting out in the front room for the last two hours?
A growl rumbles in my chest. This is unacceptable. I was impatiently waiting for her to arrive, barely able to focus on my client’s needs and this whole time she was so close.

“I hate you.”
My forked tongue flicks out, tasting the skin of her neck. “No, you don’t.”
She trembles in my arms. “You tormented me in high school. Why would you want me?”
I wrap my claws around her tiny waist. “Because you’re the sexiest female I’ve ever met in my entire life.”
Her breath catches and she gazes up at me with a dazed, incredulous look.

This was an okay sci-fi alien romance, but I did have some issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me.

First, it was too short to have as much character development as I like. I would have liked a little more backstory on both Cerise and Horace.

Cerise was likable, but it bothered me that she forgave Horace so quickly. He made her high school years miserable with his bullying, but she forgave him almost immediately. I get that she had always been attracted to him -- but strong attraction would NOT automatically heal old wounds (her wounds were deep, and had affected her self-confidence in a big way).

Horace was likable enough at the time of the book, but his earlier bullying of Cerise was awful. He tried to explain why he did it, but I didn't think his excuse was good enough. I never really felt that he was truly sorry for how much pain he had caused her. She should definitely have made him grovel before she forgave him and mated with him.

It bothered me that Cerise didn't confront her father more about his neglect and his willingness to "sell" her to pay his debts. I get that it wouldn't have done any good, since he was obviously just a terrible father -- but he deserved to at least be told off, and embarrassed in public.

I liked that curvy girls were considered beautiful in Horace's world, since everyone on his planet was much larger than any human. .

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Horace Brimstone had teased and tormented the only woman he’d ever loved, why?

This is an amazing read that you cannot stop reading and I guarantee that you will find yourself as captivated by story as myself and know that you will enjoy the two characters totally.

Horace had realised at the age of fifteen years of age that he had actually met his bound mate but because of his father and the fact that his mother had explained how important it was that they remained anonymous because their lives would be in danger if they were found.

Cherise had never known that about any of the facts that had caused Horace to be so mean to her and when she had finally left to attend college, she had been a little surprised how often she had actually thought of her nemesis.

Cherise had received details regarding her father Roger and the fact that Horace needed to speak with her immediately, what she could never have envisioned was that her father had actually sold her to Horace to clear his gambling debts.

Horace had been earnestly waiting for Cherise to arrive and he knew that having her accept him as her bound mate was not going to be a walk in the park and so was going to have to get her to agree to marry him. Them as soon as he had her in his home, he would tell her all about himself and why he had done the things he had and hope that they would be able to build a foundation from this point of truth.

I guarantee that you will be totally blown away by this story and that like me you love the build up behind each character and the fact that both had been in love with the other for over eight years.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This is part of the Monsters Bites series each book can be read as a standalone in under an hour or so with a sexy alien and the girl their have their eyes set on 😊. Cherise spent her high school years being bullied daily but she didn’t let it break her spirit she is so feisty doesn’t allow you to push her around then or now, defends herself and demand respect. So, after graduating continued education now years later accepted a new position but things don’t go as smoothly as she would like. Horace sexy Horokian alien who bullied the girl he liked all through high school, he has always wanted her now a self-made entrepreneur who did pretty well for himself, and he ensured her father owed him some debt just so he could force her into becoming his mate. So, when she is called home he is the reason why they say it is a thin line between love and hate and they two of them prove that she can’t understand why when all he did was bully her daily and he felt the total opposite every day he fell harder for her but for her now he has a chance to show her just what kind of man he grew to be but doing by bullying her and threating her family. Although, the attraction is there she is still way to upset with him to even consider being his bound yeah she may marry him to ensure her families safety but that is about it so will she finally forgive him, will she accept his bound, can there be something more between them other than hate …..more hate and can they find happiness somewhere around the hate?.

Cherise grew up on the omega 9 station. Since she and her family were poor, her fellow classmates looked down on her and bullied her. Horace Brimstone was the worst bully who constantly went out of his way to tease her. Cherise was thrilled to go away to university to get away from him. After graduation, her dad tells her that he will be in big trouble if she doesn't go meet with Horace about his debt that he owes Horace. Cherise is furious especially since he keeps her waiting for hours. When she finally does meet with him, she is horrified to learn that the only way to save her father is to agree to formally bond with Horace and continue his line. Cherise is unsure if she will be able to.

Horace has always had feelings for Cherise. He has always wanted to make her his forever but his life is very dangerous. He is the hidden son of the Hyrrokin mafia. His mother ran away from his father when she learned of his family business. His dad really wants him to join the family and his dad's rivals would do anything to bring down the family. Showing interest in Cherise would just put a big target on Cherise's back. He could just ignore her but he enjoys being near her and watching he light up in anger so he keeps pushing her. When she went away, he still kept an eye on her. Now that she has graduated and he has gained enough power on his own to protect her, he is ready to make her his. However all his bullying may have driven her too far away.

I’m not a fan of any form of bullying but I did put this aside and tried to enjoy the book but after everything she went through I think she caved to quickly for my liking. Cherie’s was bullied right through in high school by Horace who did everything he could think of to torment her and even scared away her dates and when she went away to college she put him behind her and now she is back on omega 9 to start a new job when her father is kidnapped by the very man that tormented her through school and he offers to let him go and clear all his debts if she will marry him and have is children. Horace who is a Hyrrokin male and has had a crush on Cherice and did everything I could to get her attention because she is his mate and even scared away other males and now she’s back he wants her more than ever and by holding her father hostage for his debts he owes him he is willing to wipe the debt by telling Cherise that if she marries him her fathers problems go away. When she agrees she finds out that he has always wanted her and that she is his fated mate. How does it all work out can you really forgive the person who bullied you even when he is always apologize to you and fall in love with that same person and have a HEA.

Growly Hyrrokin Horace bullied our girl Cherise in high school something fierce and...I'm usually not a fan of that. But Horace really did have reasons. Good ones, even. He had his reasons and they were mostly to throw others off her scent until he was strong enough (and powerful enough) to claim her without worry.

That said, he was pretty obnoxious in high school and Cherise very easily could have made him pay for the way he treated her. But she was willing to listen and trust him enough to believe what he was telling her. It didn't hurt that the guy turned her on just by breathing, either. It's hard to keep a proper hate on when the body is ready and willing, amirite?!?!

A little righteous anger (on her part), a lot of groveling (in his part), a few steamy encounters because these two just can't keep their hands off one another, and a few answers about the mafia prince storming into places and sniffing the heck out of the human women. Which might be awkward down the road once he finds his special someone, but that's a problem for another day. Heh.

Her Alien Bully

Cherise gets invited to the office of her old high school bully, Horace. The devil looking alien used to make her life hell and now he wants to meet over her father's debts. Cherise is annoyed and nervous to be meeting Horace again after so long, and eventually shocked when he reveals his unrelenting desire for her.

Horace loves Cherise and always has, even when he was her bully. The way he treated her in the past was for her own safety since his family connections are quite dangerous. Now that he can protect her and make her his, he will settle for nothing less than them becoming mates and starting a family. However the transgressions from the past may now be their biggest hurtle to overcome.

Her Alien Bully has a good concept and is a cute read. At times I was annoyed with the main female character, Cherise, and the connection between the two just didn't mesh for me completely. Overall a quick, insta-love scifi romance with an enemies-to-lovers theme.

Enforces toxic abusive behavior

I am stunned by the number of high ratings. I sincerely believed we were past the point of accepting bullying behavior from men as an indicator of their affection for us. This is so messed up. The heroine makes it so clear this Horace dude tortured her for YEARS and the focus of the conversation when they meet again is NOT penance for his terrible behavior but rather now "he wants you for his wife so you're going to accept him" we're all gas lit into this stupid relationship as if its romantic to marry your tormenter.
I've read many former bully romance books but there were always layers, complications and pushback, real pushback from the victim and it took time for the victim to forgive (imo if these instances happended in real life the abuser doesnt ever deserve forgiveness but then we wouldnt get our "happy ending" with the couple). Here we have Cherise, who has interlized the bullying, just going along with whatever he wants because shes aroused by him. WHY ARE WE OKAY WITH THIS??

This book is a shining example of why I read ARCs. They help me find fantastic authors whose books I’ve never read before.

To be honest, the title of this book was a turnoff for me. The description gave me hope so I decided I’d give it a chance. It is definitely a book you want to set aside time to read cover to cover.

I have to say, I understand Horace’s reasoning to a point. It seems he took his bullying a bit too far. Overall, Horace and Cherise are good people, and it shows. Despite what to me seem like some unsavory methods after high school, he has done things for Cherise, before she comes back into his life, that every girl only dreams a man would do for them.

I’m definitely glad I took a chance on Her Alien Bully. Now I need to go back and read the rest of the series to see if they are as great as I found this book to be.

This was a fun, quick read and a lovely addition to the Monster Bites series. I’ve been reading this author and several of her series for a beat now, and seriously enjoying the heck out of them.

I thought Cherish and Horace to have just enough conflict for the page count for the author to still be able to provide a resolution and a HEA. One of the things I really like about this series is how the author continues to world build, allowing the reader to revisit a familiar and still interesting place, and still learn more.

I also enjoy how future characters are introduced, don’t take too much “page time” away from our MCs, but keep us looking for more. I also very much appreciate how stories in this series seem to be happening at the same time or very near the same time, keeping me invested and looking for more.

Cherise and Horace are ex-schoolmates, and had not seen one another after Cherise left the Omega 9 station for university on another planet. She could not leave fast enough to get away from Horace, who had bullied her horribly all through high school. He tells her he will forgive all of her father's debts if she agrees to marry him and have his children. She agrees to do so, learning along the way that he has always loved her. Imagine that. Why do bullies act so atrociously toward someone for whom they have feelings?

For the most part I really enjoyed this story. There were a few aspects that gave me pause, such as how quickly Cherise gave in to Horace and agreed to marry him. Right at the beginning, I thought she was going to give him heck, only to have all her vim and vigor disappear. I wish that she had kept a stronger backbone and made him grovel for her forgiveness, at least a little bit, before giving in. Overall, this is a nice addition to the series.

Cherise's life in high school was miserable and it was all down to one Hyrrokin male. Horace. He knocked her books from her hands, said cruel things to her and pretty much dogged her every step. The thing is, he was the equivalent of the little boy in the playground pulling on the little girl's pigtails because he wanted to keep her attention on him and keep her close to him. When you are a huge 15 year old male it's not quite the same but he didn't know how else to function when he found his bound so early in life and knew he could not have her. He has plotted and planned to bring about this moment right now... Cherise is fuming to say the least. Her father's life and business are being held ransom by her former bully. She is determined to help her father and get him out of the obviously unscrupulous male's debt. That said when she does see him again, he is not quite the same Hyrrokin as before and he seems determined to marry her! Err, say what now??!!

I loved this story. I hope that there are more Hyrrokin stories as I have enjoyed reading every one. They look like the devil but love like a God. Horace tormented Cherise while they were in school. He was very mean to her and made her cry. Too bad that he did that because he really liked her and could't have her at that time. Cherise has secretly loved Horace, even though he was mean to her, and didn't put up much of a fight when he whisked her to the courthouse for a Hyrrokin bonding. I'm glad that Horace finally came clean and apologized to her about the heartache he caused her. He did it privately and publicly. They are perfect for each other and have such sizzling steamy together. I'm glad he met his brother the Prince Blackstone. I look forward to reading the next book about Prince Brimstone finding his bond. Highly recommend this book and the other's in this series.

Liked it

A short lust-driven sci-fi romance that is a version of enemies to lovers, where, unbeknownst to each other, it's secretly been insta-lust and insta-love from the start. The heroine, 24-year-old Cherise Monroe, has just returned to the space station she was born & raised on after finishing her finance degree to find her father is in debt to the hero. The hero, 25-year-old Horace Brimstone, has started a successful company and is finally in a position to make the female he has always wanted his bound (wife). However, can she forgive him for the awful way he treated her in the past?

As one would expect of such a short story, its characters and plot are not developed. However, if you're looking for a short fun lusty story, then this was an enjoyable read that fit the bill.

Cherise Monroe has returned to Omega 9 to not only start a new job but confront Horace Brimstone the Hyrrokin male who tormented her for 3 years in Intergalactic High School. Her father owes large debts to the high-powered businessman and payment is due!
I enjoyed this short bite in the Hyrrokin and human timeline and found it to be another engaging read in the series as Cherise comes to understand what Horace’s motivations were towards her in school and can no longer deny to herself how she is secretly attracted to him.
A little spice and a little fun made for a pleasingly written story with an appearance by the Prince of the Hyrrokin Mafia still trying to track down HIS human bound. Looking forward to that story in the future!

I really like the universe of Michele Mills stories; I have read all the stories that involve this Hyrrokin aliens and the other aliens of this author universe. I can wait for the next one with the story of Prince. In this book we have the story of Horace and Cherise when they went to high school, he knew she was his bound but because he was hiding from his mafia family, he didn't dare to show his true feelings for Cherise and did her life miserable. After graduation Cherise went to college on another planet and after 4 years she graduated and came back and that is how Horace got in contact with her again. Will they have a chance to forgive and have a future together? This is a fast-paced story, with lot of hotness, no cheating and of curse a HEA.

A hot mess is what this book is. First of all, there’s no real depth to the storyline. Yes, i know it is all about the sex really, but if you use a heavy topic like bullying and she was so tormented, then I feel like you need to give more to the storyline in mg opinion. There’s like only 4 pages total of them discussing him bullying her and him apologizing for it. And all of a sudden she forgives him and she loves him too. And then she learns that her dad sold her to him and never actually cared about her, Horace creating a scene in a restaurant, him meeting his long lost half-brother, fighting his brother, and then inviting his brother to sit and eat with him? All within 3 pages? Clown behavior and clown writing. Also, what kind of name is Horace. Took me out of the book from the beginning.
