Into the starlit night, with your love to guide me, I go…
In a small coffee shop in the second district of Vienna, as the city and the wider world changes almost beyond recognition, twelve happy years pass for three lovers. Gabriel, Florian, and Solomon manage their small business and work to support their growing family, building a legacy for the future.
Gabriel, however, is still bound by his agreement with the guardian nature spirit of Augarten. In exchange for letting Ian pass through one of her gates to become an angel, Gabriel must pay the price and step through another gate himself.
If Gabriel has managed to squeeze enough spiritual work into his life, and it has carried him far enough, then when he passes through Augarten's gate he will take the next step beyond human and become an angel himself. If he has not and still has too much remaining karma, then he will go back into incarnation, forgetting all that he has known and loved in this current beautiful and blessed life in Vienna.
The final equinox nears, and Gabriel is left with no choice but to take the leap and face his fate. If the timing is right, his lovers will lose him but gain Ian, their shared guardian angel, at the same moment. And if Gabriel can survive the journey through the afterworld, Florian and Solomon will gain a second guardian angel in him.
Eviternity, the epilogue to the Augarten series, which is best read in order, is an MMM urban fantasy romance about a love that spans lifetimes. It contains magical realism, cute babies who can speak to cute baby trees, a book bindery full of lost memories, and, even in the darkest times, lots of espresso.
do read this series in order to understanding the 3 characters. i have to say was not prepared for the emotional ride in this book. to fully see them and the love felt between between the 3 was mind blowing
I do not have any words to describe how this book effected me. All of the characters from the Augarten and Sky Nymph series come to get her in the book. Left me in awe.
Yes this is definitely the best book I never wanted to read. I didn’t want to read it because it was obvious that Gabriel wasn’t going to keep being on earth. This has been a magical series to read and I have enjoyed it a lot. Parts of it are definitely hard to read and I did find that I had to put it down at times but I kept feeling compelled to read more because it’s a fascinating story. I don’t want to make it sound like a new “War and Peace” but it really is an epic story that I can best describe as lyrically written. Charlie Godwyne uses language as a painter uses color to describe scenes, people and situations. Ultimately it’s very readable but this is not a tale that you are going to be able to sit down and read in one go. I will definitely be thinking about these characters and this story for a long while and that to me is the sign of a great book.
My heartstrings have been pulled in so many directions. I smiled, I cried, and had a warm fuzzy in my heart as Gabriel ascended leaving Sol and Fabian behind. This was heartbreaking and happy simultaneously and I told myself to reread the entire series from the beginning once again to capture all of the love, friendship, found family and growth that was demonstrated through the entire series. What a wonderful journey and my heart and soul could feel the love felt by everyone. I literally cried reading this book it broke my heart but healed me in the end. A wonderful read and I can’t say enough about the series in its entirety. I finished this book and decided to reread the entire series over as soon as possible so I can once again share in the love, heartbreak, and commitment that these friends, lovers, and children have for each other. An amazing series and I highly recommend!
I am absolutely unashamed to admit that I absolutely cried my way through a lot of this. I have loved this series so much, and gotten so much fulfillment and even serenity from reading it, that I am really sad that it is over.
Gabriel, Florian, and Solomon are absolutely beautiful together. They match on a spiritual level as well as their physical relationship. You can tell that they are so connected and have been for so long, and it's just so much that I could just tangibly feel how much the 3 of them are connected and how much they love each other.
Fantastic way to end an absolutely wonderful series.
You will absolutely want to have read previous books in the series before starting this one, so if you haven’t already, start at the beginning! This story weaves together so many narrative threads, and shows readers characters who’ve been through a lot, in so many ways, not least spiritually, at an intense and pivotal time. I found this to be a beautiful, and bittersweet, moment in the lives of characters I’d truly come to care about over the course of their stories, and I’m glad to have the chance to have experienced it.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I knew this book was going to hurt and it did, I cried through it. Through the sadness, however, there is incredible love and hope and so I cried for that too, lol. The world building is still amazing, the characters we've come to know and love reveal a few more secrets to us and as a fan of short epilogues at the end of books, this long one was a wonderful present.
This is another beautifully written book by Charlie Godwyne. It continues Gabriel, Florian, and Solomon's story. It has heat and tender moments between the three men. It is heartbreaking. I wasn't quite prepared for how much, though. When all is said and done, the men seem happy. That's really all I can ask for.
Eviternity is book 5.5 in the Augarten series and it really needs to be read in order. The story is interwoven with so many different narratives. This is told in Gabriel’s POV. I really loved the magical realism of the story. I’ve grown to love them all these characters! Overall, a great story! Well written with pacing that hooked me.
Their love and business is going really well but there is going to be a blimp coming. One of them will need to step away from his lovers but he does not feel ready. How will it affect them all? Can he leave them? See just how it will all go for them
I both adored and hated this book. Adored because the writing is magical and hated it because of the heartbreak. It was beautifully and masterfully written and I can not recommend this series enough.
This is the last book in the series. I have read them all and enjoyed the mysticism that it brings. This one shows snippets of their lives as 12 years go by. Told in Gabriel’s point of view it shows and tells the love between them. Looking forward to reading the next book.
