Degrelle is a lion of history. I'm very glad that this book exists to chronicle the second half of this man's epic life. The story of his escape to Spain and subsequent life on the edge, dodging assassination attempts and the looming prospect of deportation to a certain death in Belgium, makes for a compelling narrative.
Unfortunately the excitement subsides and the book does wander a fair bit into letter exchanges and Interviews in the final third that don't add much to the story of his exile. For that reason I have to take a star, but the book remains essential reading for the complete story of Leon Degrelle.
