Fantastic! Amanda Bailey blew me away with this story. Way to tug and pull at my heartstrings. 😭😭

Matt and Skylar are everything!!! Their relationship goes from zero to sixty and it is hot as all heck.

💖Single Dad
💖Nanny
💖Slight Age Gap
💖Forced Proximity
💖Police Officer

Look at these tropes, need I say more!!! Eeeekkk soooo good! These two start off in a desperate situation, and this brings them together and that is when it gets soooo good. This book had me crying, laughing, and even had my husband intrigued. Caught him reading over my shoulder a couple times! I love love Skylar, her bright, fun personality brings so much to this heartfelt story. But my favorite part is MATT!!! He is rundown, broken and lost. He needs a hug, someone to lift him up and help him run his life. I wanted to reach into the book so many times and hug him. He was vulnerable and beautiful. ❤️Get ready for this book to make you feel. Make you swoon and mostly have you falling hard for these incredible characters.

I am so sad to see the Brookhaven Blues series come to an end. I have absolutely loved these characters. Enjoyed their ups and downs but mostly loved their Happy Endings! Amanda’s writing is incredible. She writes with such passion and love for her characters. She’s funny and heartfelt. I have read everyone of her books and this story is a top favorite of mine. An absolute must read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh Matt, I absolutely knew I was going to love you! We had to watch you suffer through the heartache of losing your spouse and take on that single father role as we watched Travis and Logan find their happily ever after, and my heart ached for you. You imparted your wisdom and championed them in their moments of overcoming adversity, and all I wanted was to wrap you and Sailor in my arms and hold you forever! But then along came Skylar and she just flipped your world back to rights! She brought you out of the darkness and devastation you have been muddling through for the last year, loved your sweet Sailor as her very own, and breathed life into your soul! Amanda absolutely outdid herself with this beautiful love story, this tale of second chances, family strengths, and overcoming grief. Matt may very well be her best hero yet! What an absolutely delicious, well written end to this all encompassing series! Impeccably done! Your utter brilliance just shines through! Five Sail(or)ing stars! See y'all on another page!

Oh man, this book. Where do I begin? Once you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down. I fell so hard in love with Matt and Skylar!! Their story is so heartfelt and touching, it had me wanting to jump right in to hug Matt.

My heart aches for Matt and all that he’s been through. He is a single Dad, raising a beautiful little girl named Sailor. After losing his wife, he is having a hard time dealing and going forward. He meets Skylar through friends when he needs a caregiver for Sailor. She is a bit younger than him, spunky, sweet and caring. When he realizes that he is attracted to her and that feelings may be forming, he doesn’t know how to handle it. He doesn’t want to be alone. He wants that special person to spend his life with but at the same time, he wonders if it is too soon to move on. Skylar is able to comfort and be there for Matt, as she also knows grief. She is understanding of what he is going through and is for the most part, patient with him. There are some ups and downs on this mini roller coaster to love. It is refreshing to watch her with him and Sailor. To see her be the rock they both need, whether they know it or not.

This is a beautiful story about the journey through loss and grief. Learning that it is ok to move on, to live and love again, while keeping your lost loved one alive in your memories and in your heart. I definitely recommend this book, the whole series for that matter!!

Oh, and that epilogue!! The epilogue is perfection!!

The Third Girl is the 3rd and final installment in the Brookhaven Blues series. I absolutely love all three stories and every single character, for very different reasons.

Happy Reading!!

I knew this story was gonna tug at my heart strings after meeting Matt and Skylar in books one and two in this series and it certainly did.

Matt's wife passed away a year ago and needs help with his daughter, Sailor (LOVE her!), and Skylar is looking for some extra income. They know of each other because of their friend group, and so the nanny/father relationship begins.

They certainly fight their feelings because Matt is still grieving (of course he is), but Skylar is patient and understanding. "He’s a storm cloud, and I want to chase away his dark and bring him into the light with me."

I really loved this book and sad the series is over. Matt, Skylar & Sailor might just be my favorite in this series. This series definitely had me all up in my feels, so good!

Couple of my favorite quotes:
“Speaking of. I’ve got someone willing to help with Sailor. I have no real clue who this girl is or what she’s like, except she’s a choke hold-escaping kindergarten teacher who entered into a verbal agreement with me today that she’d help me out. And she said yes without knowing a single fucking detail of what I’d expect of her or accommodations or what Sailor’s like or any of that.”

“You’re in trouble with that one. She’s going to challenge you in ways you don’t see coming yet, I guarantee you. But damn, it’s going to be amazing to watch you fall again.”

This is the third book in the Brookhaven Blues series. It’s a single dad, age gap romance. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I was done. I was so caught up in Matt and Skylar! He is a single dad who is raising his feisty, gorgeous toddler, while also struggling with grief and rebuilding his life. Skylar is a kindergarten teacher who agrees to help are for his daughter while he works.
Their attraction is strong, it was fun to watch as Matt gravitated towards Skylar. As she made him smile and gave him a reason to start enjoying life again. Skylar is sexy, sassy, and fun, but she also is a kindred spirit able to understand Matt’s grief.
I liked Matt and Skylar - because I love relatable characters, but also characters with back stories that define who they currently are. Their love story was not plain sailing but their HEA was sweeter because of it! I am a sucker for epilogues in books and the epilogue to this book was perfect – it was the icing on the cake and made me smile so hard.
This book made me smile, brought tears to my eyes, and made me swoon. A must TBR. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I knew from the first book in this series that Matt’s story was going to give me all the feels. My heart hurt for Matt throughout the first two books and it hurt so much more for him in The Third Girl. While I was dreading this book because I knew that it was going to make me cry I also couldn’t wait to read it because I so badly wanted Matt to get his happy ending. A year grieving for the loss of someone can feel like both a long time, but also no time at all. So it’s completely understandable that Matt is still grieving for his wife Terri and why he has such a hard time trying to move on. Enter Skylar, whose personality, giving heart, and sassy attitude make me love her so much. It also grabs Matt’s attention and the more time they spend around each other while she’s taking care of his absolutely adorable daughter Sailor, the more he realizes that his attraction to her may actually go deeper than what he’s prepared for. I love Skylar and Matt together so much, add in Sailor and you have this absolutely adorable “family” that you can’t help but root for. This book was exactly what I wanted for Matt and while I’m sad to see the series end, I’m so incredibly happy with the way it ended. So grab some wine and a box of tissues and jump in to this story. Just make sure that you don’t have anything planned because if you’re like me then you’re not going to want to put the book down until you finish reading it.

Words can’t express the amount of anticipation I had for this book release. I’ve been waiting for Matt’s story since the first book in this series came out and it was worth the wait. In the first 2 books (I highly recommend you read them) we see Matt dealing with the recent loss of his wife and being a single dad to his very young daughter. It was heartbreaking to read those passages and I so, so hoped he would get a story worthy of a new deep and lasting love. And I was not disappointed. Phew!

We open with Matt needing a nanny to care for his 2 year old daughter while he’s working the nightshift as a cop. Skylar is a strong independent woman and a school teacher looking for extra work and accepts the job of sleeping at his house to watch his daughter. What a perfect set up for two people who fight their attraction to literally be so-called ships passing in the night. He wasn’t expecting to feel things for Skylar as strong as he does and that throws him off as he’s trying to move on from his grief. Amanda Bailey certainly brings the heat (and boy, does Matt deliver the heat) and the feels. And OMG these two are amazing together!

She writes a convincing MMC who’s doing his best to move on, yet wonders if he’s ready. But how does he find his way to heal his heart and is it with the nanny? Matt had a very loving relationship with his first wife. And that is something that a lot of books with this plot line don’t want to attempt. So often I feel authors can soften the blow and make the past marriage be difficult or “never meant to be”. And it makes the new relationship easier to swallow, or allows the FMC to feel like she is the only one the H ever loved. But that’s not real life. This book feels like real life. Matt struggles getting past his grief, all the while being that rare male book character who actually WANTS to be in a relationship and misses that companionship.

My heart ached for Matt while rooting for him to find his happiness. You won’t be disappointed!

This final book in the series brings a pang to my gut as I’ve loves all 3 books and their connected characters. I will certainly miss them.

Advance reader copy provided by the author. All opinions are my own.

This book was a tear-jerker, very steamy, defiant page turner and a book that I couldn't put down. We all get second chances in life and sometimes they come when we least except them. This book shows that second chances are also not easy when you are dealing with grief or loss in Matt's case and Skylar comes into his life when he needs some help and turns his world upside down. Matt and Skylar have this chemistry that can't be ignored and it intensifies when Skylar becomes the nanny to his daughter Sailor. Is this single dad ready to move on, will the nanny get heartbroken, or will a second chance at love be on the horizon for Matt..I'm not going to tell you what happens you will just have to read to the book to find out what happens with Matt and Skylar.

Oh my god, nooo, please tell there are some cousins or friends or anyone else, because I'm not
ready for this series to end. No other book in a long time had me brought to tears that often. Matt`s
story would be sad, that much was clear thruogh the previous books. But that it was gonna be this
hard? You could literally feel his grief and pain. All of his emotions. Skylar is such a caring person. Her
will to help and support is so strong and I adored her for that. You could feel the connection
between Matt and Skylar. The way everything slowly changed and turned. Nothing was easy or
simple, nothing was gone with the time, but thar was exactly what made my day. Because that is life.
This book was not a fairytale, it was real and raw and beautiful. I loved it. I want more of these
beautiful people. Maybe an epic epilogue?

I was honoured to receive an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Matt is a policeman and his wife Terri died in a car accident where only his baby daughter Sailor survived. So for the past year he has relied on his family to assist with the child care, due to Matt's mum about to have an operation he has to look into alternative child care.

Skylar is friends of the family so gets recommend for the Nanny position as her day to day job is a teacher. Matt has so much baggage because he has never forgiven himself for all the guilt he has. He still loves Terri and feels like he is being a bad dad to Sailor.

Amanda has written Sailor's character so adorably from her characteristics to how she says certain words.

I loved this book and would definitely recommend.

If you love praise kinks and an age gap romance then this book is for you! The spice is just *chefs kiss*🥵😍 Matt is hot as sin! Skylar and Matt are definitely my favourite couple in the series!

Gahhh, I loved this book! This is the third book in the Brookhaven Blues series, and it seems each one just gets better and better!

This is an extremely well-written story about overcoming heartbreak and finding the strength to go on, and even find love again. Matt and Skylar were so good together, and Skylar turned out to be an amazing mother-figure for Matt's daughter, Sailor. I honestly loved everything about this story.

If you like small-town, contemporary romance with some major steam, this one is a must read! Definitely five stars!

This single dad age gap romance squeezed my heart in the best of ways and left me with the happiest sigh at it's end....

I love getting into a good book that hits me with all the feels! Matt and Skylar's love story is one I found to be sweet and steamy with moments that were both heart stealing and heartbreaking. The feelings and emotions expressed were just so relatable, human, and written with an honest sincerity. It was practically impossible not to gravitate towards these characters and get lost in their story.....

Matt Morello is such an easy character to like but in this story, you'll find so many reasons to fall in love with him. This widowed single dad who's lost in a sea of grief and loneliness and yet still tries to be the best dad possible for his daughter Sailor. How he misses the closeness and partnership of a relationship....how he feels stuck and life is passing him by. You feel his struggle in dealing with the guilt of letting go of the pain and heartache, moving on after loss and wanting to live again. Finding happiness with someone again. So many times, I wanted to hug this guy so hard!

When Skylar comes into Matt's life, he's in desperate need for some help and she definitely throws him for a loop. With her kind, compassionate nature and easy understanding of his situation...Skylar soon becomes a balm to his wounded and battered soul. She makes him want to live again, mends his broken pieces, and has him wanting to rediscover the man he used to be before his tragic loss. Skylar is the Third girl in Matt's life....the question is...will he be able to open his heart wide enough to make room for her too??

GAWD, this was such a fantastic read! Matt, Skylar, and little adorable Sailor deserve a lifetime of smiles and laughter and happiness. This was a story that had me laughing, crying, and smiling wide! Not to mention getting a little overheated during it's incredibly steamy scenes!!

What can I say other than this book had me wrapped around it's little finger from beginning to end and I enjoyed every single moment of it. It's a beautifully written and moving story of love, loss, and grief. Holding on to the memory of your loved one while making space in your heart for another who completes you. Making you whole again....

Get this book on your TBR NOW! It a gem you won't want to miss! 😘❤️

Matt Morello has been broken-hearted since the death of his wife, Terri, and he assumes that he’ll never move on or fall in love again. His daughter, Sailor, is the light of his life, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. But when he meets Skylar Wood, everything seems to just fall into place. Now, Matt must struggle with his intense attraction to Skylar, his need for her help, and his guilt over his previous marriage.

This book was super good! It was amazingly written and wonderfully emotional, with the perfect amount of angst. Skylar and Matt’s relationship was extremely well developed, and I loved the fact that Skylar loves Sailor as well, not just Matt. Speaking of Sailor, she was sweet as can be! This was such a lovely conclusion to the series as well. I was so happy that Matt finally found happiness.

Skylar. She’s such a sweetheart, so warm and open and loving. I loved the fact that she was understanding of Matt’s trauma and was therefore extremely patient with him. Matt. Oh, this poor man. I just want to give him all the hugs! But he is such a good father to Sailor, and an amazing man as well. I highly recommend!

This is the Third Book in the Brookhaven Series by Amanda Bailey. We have met Matt in the previous books and I knew his story was going heartfelt and tug on all of my emotions. Skylar comes into Matt and his daughters life a bit unexpectedly and starts make Matt see he can be happy again. This book with filled so much emotion as Matt deals with his grief. I love books that are extremely relatable, there is no timetable for grief everyone deals with it in their own ways. Skylar was the perfect fit for this single family, younger, sassy and full of life. Exactly what’s Matt needed.

I’m sad to see this series end but can’t wait to see what Amanda brings us next.

I couldn't wait to read this final book in the series, and what a way to end it. After reading the author's other books, my heart went out to Matt, we watched him grief and saw it even more first handed in this book.

I never wanted to put this book down, I couldn't wait to see how the story would end between Matt and Skylar. Skylar was the perfect person for Matt, she loved Sailor from the beginning and the two of them instantly bonded. Matt was able to heal his heart, even though it was not easy.

I have been waiting for Matt’s story and let me tell you it was SO worth the wait. It hit on every emotion I have and I could not put it down. Matt is the best dad and husband that anyone could have wanted in a man and there was no body better to fit him than Skylar. I didn’t want their story to end but alas all great stories do. A must read.

Absolutely love this series. Matt and Skylar together is offthe chart. The heartbreak and the healing process for Matt was to die for. Being a single dad and not really knowing how to navigate it was so real feeling. Then Skylar comes a feisty young woman who knows what she wants. She stays true to herself and her word. So glad those two was able to work it out, they are for sure each other missing pieces. What a great way to end a series.

Matt Morello is the dad every little girl dreams of.

When tragedy leaves him a single dad to a wildfire of a toddler, Matt has one goal. Working the graveyard shift is the best way to get as much daddy daughter time as he can. However, it begins to take a toll on him, as well as his siblings and parents.

When circumstances force him to put the care of his princess in the hands of a stranger, his sister offers to ask a friend who is needing a summer job with school getting ready for summer break. He agrees to see how it goes, reluctantly.

Skylar Wood is a Kindergarten teacher at Brookhaven Elementary, she's also great friends with his sister in law, Laney. She has been attending the self defense classes that Matt has been teaching, and after seeing him have a particular hard night, agrees to taking over care of Sailor while he's on shift.

This book has everything! A hot single father who will do anything for his little spitfire. The most precious little girl who has a love of mac and cheese, all things pink, and chocolate. A woman who, although younger, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to let him know it. The steam factor will have you running for that ice cold shower!

I felt every emotion these characters felt, even choked up a little. They felt very real. A five star read worthy of each one.

The Third Girl
By Amanda Bailey
Main Characters: Skyler and Matt
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
This is a heartfelt story of a single father of Sailor who was dealt a terrible loss. This is an age-gap romance story. This story has love, loss, and a second chance at love again. Matt was still grieving for his wife Terri when he meets Skyler and she agrees to help him with his daughter. Skyler is a kindergarten teacher looking to make a little extra money and Matt is in law enforcement. I have read and reviewed about 10 books for this author and loved every one of them. This was the third and final book in this series.

An Angel Sent From Above -
Matt was still grieving the death of his wife when Skylar came to work for him, but his pain seemed to go away, the more time he spent with Skylar. Unfortunately, before they entered into a relationship, they went through a few ups and downs, that nearly cost them their happiness. I’ve just been on one heck of an emotional journey like no other, but my heart was singing with joy by the time I reached the end of the story. The story will have you hooked from the first word, right until the very end. It was a worthwhile read, that deserves to be recommended.

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amanda Bailey does it again!!! The third book of this epic series of love stories. Matt is a single dad trying to raise his feisty little one, Sailor and Skylar is a kindergarten teacher who tries to help him while he works. The attraction is strong but fierce. I loved seeing these two work towards their ending. The emotions ran high and brought tears to my eyes at times.

After reading the description, this book was definitely a must read. It definitely didn't disappoint. Matt and Skylar have such an amazing chemistry. The author has written their story perfectly. Overcoming grief and finding your second chance is something talked about and a part of what made their story. That and the fact that, Matt and Skylar where made for each.

A great story! As usual, Amanda's writing makes it very easy to engage in the lives of her characters and spend the length of the book rooting for Matt and Skylar. It was a little difficult for me to relate to Skylar, but it was a throughly enjoyable read nevertheless. Recommend for sure.
