We had plans. Until we didn’t. His entire life revolved around baseball, and even the part he wanted me to play in it was to help him succeed. Crap happens. Plans change, and life goes on. Sure, I’m bored out of my mind at times—boring job, boring dates…boring life. But I’m over Nolan Krenshaw. At least…I’ve tried to move on and get over him.
When Nolan’s career is suddenly on the line, I’m the one he turns to. I tell myself the only reason I’m helping him is so I can officially put him behind me. Of course, it’s a lie. He was all I ever wanted, until he broke my heart. This time, I’m not stupid enough to believe that he would ever put me first.
Terri Anne Browning is a USA TODAY bestselling author. Being dyslexic, she never thought a career in writing would be possible, yet she has been on bestselling lists multiple times since 2013. Reese: A Safe Haven Novella was her first Indie published book. The Rocker Who Holds Me changed the tables and kicked off The Rocker... series featuring the sinfully delicious members of Demon's Wings. The Rocker... Series is now complete with 12 books and the occasional novella. Other books by Terri Anne include the Angel's Halo MC Series, as well as The Lucy & Harris Novella Series, The Vitucci Mafiosos Series, and The Tainted Knights Rocker Series.
Terri Anne lives in Virginia with her husband, their three demons---err, children--and a hyper Frenchie named Grunt.
Zariah Sacrificed by Terri Anne Browning was associated with the Angel’s Halo MC Second Generation series through the mafia ties as seen in some of the previous books. With so many characters and plots within this story, it was best having read the series in order.
I’m taking a break from my normal review process at the moment but a few quick thoughts: I liked both Zariah and Nolan. Zariah was the sister to Ciana (Cruel Surrender, book eight, Angel’s Halo MC Second Generation). We learned previously that she had been burned by a professional athlete and tended to stay as far away from sports and sports figures as possible. In Zariah Sacrificed we learned that Nolan Krenshaw, current star pitcher in the MLB, was the unnamed heart breaker. Browning quickly unveiled the conflict and as expected a misunderstanding mixed in with an evil supporting cast was at the root of the problem. I enjoyed getting to know both characters and watch Nolan fight for his life with Zariah. All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read.
What I liked: I liked that Nolan’s(H) father died alone. After everything he put his wife through and what he did to Zariah(h) he deserved to be alone. Loved the part when Nolan beats up his roommate. It was also refreshing to read how Nolan wasn’t with anyone else while separated from Zariah. It’s rare finding books where the H isn’t a manwh*re while separated from the h.
What I didn’t like: I wanted Nolan to explain why he never went to Zariah and explained what happened. Yeah she didn’t want to see him at first but why not try to get her to listen instead he waited all that time until he needed help to talk to her.
Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: Second chance. H and h dated while they were in college. H is a baseball player and when visiting his mother and father he see that his mother is beat up. H helps mom and leaves for his away games accidentally leaving his phone back at his place. Roommate who is a “spy” for H’s father gives the H’s phone to the father. H’s father goes to the h to blackmail her for 5 million and if not he will give the tabloids the nude pictures she sent the H. h pays the father and can’t believe the H would do that and why hasn’t he called. H not knowing anything comes back and h refuses to talk to him. H decides to leave h alone and goes off to play in the Major League Baseball. h becomes a lawyer and works for her family. Years later H needs help because the ex roommate comes out on the field and the H beats him up. h comes and helps him. The H makes h listen to him and they start back up their relationship. Family things happen that are in the other books before this one and they get their HEA.
Descriptive Sex: Yes
Final thoughts: This was good, I just needed it to be more. I wanted to know why Nolan didn’t come back sooner to explain. I gave it an extra 1/2 for the devoted hero.

I really enjoyed this shorter romance. A mix of some of my favourite things! We have organized crime family (of the heroine) - she is a tough, confident legal eagle ball buster! The hero is a prodigy pitcher. Due to believable circumstances, a series of unfortunate events they split up. The hero then attempts many times to reconnect with the heroine because for the past five years both have been celibate and completely in love with each other all that time.
There is a bit of action, a bit of sport and a bit of her legal prowess. The action involves an attack on her family. This creates a turning point for the hero to prove he put some her first which was sweet. The ending was abrupt and some outcomes need further explanation of how it happened. Maybe future books? 🙃
I started falling in love with Zariah and Nolan from the start of chapter one This book was a page Turner that kept me hooked from page one I absolutely love the emotional love story between Zariah and Nolan and I truly enjoyed following along their journey back to each other this is one of the best Terri Anne Browning books I highly recommend reading this book
This book was just okay. It felt very abbreviated and I just didn’t like the ultimatums that got tossed around. I feel like it was a little bit unreasonable.
Zariah and Nolan were in love in college until Nolan’s father and roommate tore them apart. Nolan is now a professional baseball player and he is still pining for Zariah. Zariah is a lawyer now and Nolan calls her to get him out of a tough spot. He thinks that he will be able to win her back but she is going to give him a run for his money.
I just felt like this book was too abbreviated. I feel like I could not connect to the characters and it was a pretty emotional story, or it could have been if we had more time getting to know the characters. I feel like I have read stories with a similar premise and they are generally stories that I enjoy. It’s not like this one was bad but I feel like it just fell flat emotionally.
I think that there are definitely better books in this series that I would rather read but it was interesting. I think that this author was just better at MC or mafia stories.
Nolan is a character far removed from TAB’s many linked series. He’s a breathe of fresh air and a dream come true. Zariah the novella is a must read win and Zariah the character wins by getter her ballplayer. There are moments in their story that readers will relive, for those that are just reading a TAB book, you’ll be fine. The story telling is just that good that you’ll understand and just want to pick up all the other books out there. Either way, Nolan’s and Zariah are a 2nd chance romance and you’ll love their HEA!
Nolan and Zariah’s story was sooooo good. He fought for her all the way and never swayed from his goal. She is a powerhouse, not a wimpy female. Loved that about her. She has to be to survive the constant threats to her family and she is a fighter. They are a perfect match, brains and brawn. Loved this story. Wish they were longer or that I could read slower. Can’t wait for the next book!!!!
I am a super fast reader and read it all in a few hours. Forget some of the tragic things this family had to go through at took place in this story line.
Love Zariah so much! Such a great story for her, and a great read!!
Angels Halo MC Next Generation book 10. Nolan and Zariah. Two peas in a pod. Sweethearts for a longtime until a hideous monster tore them apart. They must fight a tragic breakup, years apart and an uncertain future. This book was dramatic, angsty smexy and hopeful.
There were moments in this book I struggled to read because of how intertwined the story was with both Nova And Ryan and Cianna and it was hard to reread the heartbreaks. But Nolan and Zariah’s story was amazing!
After a major breakup years before Zariah was by no means willing to give Nolan a second chance when he forced his way back into her life, but the heart always wins in the end.
Nolan and Zariah were meant to be together. But events tore them apart before they got a chance. Now Nolan is hell bent on getting them where they were always meant to be ands checking off Zariah’s wishlist.
I found this one to be more of a novella. We get to see previous book happenings from a different point of view. Was really happy with the ending for Nolan's dad. Loved her bodyguard and was glad Nolan finally showed he chose HER.
Wow. This was another amazing story. Terrianne Browning is the best of the best. All of her books draw you in and keep you held captive from start to finish. Your rock.
I absolutely loved this series of books, Terri Anne never disappoints. Zariah and Nolan are great characters with an interesting story, well worth the read!
