Rory Hawthorn knows her family's magical library contains an endless array of secrets, but even her fellow biblio-witches little expect a corridor that’s been missing for over two decades to suddenly materialise again.
They don’t expect it to put a curse upon Rory’s aunt Candace, either.
With the library once again at the centre of a potential disaster, can Rory help her family unravel the mysteries of the lost corridor and break the curse, or will she be the next to succumb?
Elle Adams lives in the middle of England, where she spends most of her time reading an ever-growing mountain of books, planning her next adventure, or writing. Elle's books are humorous mysteries with a paranormal twist and tons of magical mayhem.
She also writes urban and contemporary fantasy novels as Emma L. Adams.
The Library Witch Mysteries were a surprise addition to my reading last year. I discovered them as I enjoy Hollis McCarthy's narration, and since then I've been listening on audio and just loving them.
This is a paranormal mystery that is set around Aurora "Rory" and her discovery that she is a witch. She now lives in magical library [my absolute dream place to live!!] with her cousins, Estelle and Cass, and her aunts Adelaide and Candace, in Ivory Beach.
This one seems to take a break from the main storyline of Rory's dad's journal and the vampires, and it was nice to give a little more insight into Rory's Aunt Candace. Candace loses her memories when she discovers the fourth floor [which has been missing] and Rory and her family help to uncover the secrets.
I loved Bewitchments & Bookworms. This series is the perfect blend of cozy mystery and fantasy, and I wish there was a hundred books in this series so I could read them forever. Hollis McCarthy will always be the voice of this series for me!!! She perfectly narrates and voices each character, and I likely will re-listen to them all, just to discover them again.
If paranormal cozy mysteries are your thing, you need this one in your stacks!!
Fun series with a Bibliophile witch family that owns a magical library. Ahhhhhh, a dream come true to be part of that family book filled legacy!
This particular novel in the series was quite funny and action packed with an unexpected reveal of a hidden floor, corridor and curse on one of the family members, and then involves two outside library members being cursed as well - it’s a wild roller coaster ride and we are all along with the thrills, spills and fun.
Love the charming eccentricity of the aunts and cousin and the warmth and ease of the family for Rory who needed them, after being basically an orphan after her father’s death. Rory is quite enamored with her Ivory Beach community and making friends too. There is also Rory’s ongoing relationship with Xavier, the apprentice Reaper, that has its intriguing quirks as well.
The missing piece in the mystery puzzle is where the curse originated, why, and how to remove it, but it all comes together at the end and the author surprises with an unexpected hidden villain - did not see that coming and sooooo well done! Entertaining and an absolutely worthwhile read
The library is infested with bookworms which eat not only books but shelves as well. In the midst of fighting these worms, Candace discovers the fourth floor corridor which has been lost since Rory's grandmother died. The discovery placed a curse upon Candace which wiped out her memory. It also had the same effect on two other people who were visiting the library which caused the police to get involved. Even Sylvester didn't know what was happening or how to lift the curse. Because no one could figure out what caused the curse, the only people who could enter the new corridor were Xavier (Reapers are immune to curses) and Laney (vampires also immune). But neither could see anything in the corridor even when Rory heard noises in there.
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Rory and her family are a group of bibliophile witches who use words as magic and run a Magical library. There’s always something going on in their small coastal town. Some mystery that needs to be solved a missing person a missing book a cursed object or something or another. Raury along with her boyfriend Xavier apprentice reaper and the rest of her family will have to find out what’s causing the issue in the library and their town this time. Read on and enjoy
This story has so many twists and turns. The library owned by one family of witches is literally a sentient being. There are secrets that pop up, floors that disappear and books that have minds of their own. The main story revolves around Rory “the lost cousin” whose father wrote secrets in his diary that are encoded. The mystery is slowly moving towards the ultimate reason why so many want the journal. The cast of characters is very interesting. These books are not your usual rom com mysteries. I enjoy them. I look forward to the next one in the series.
This was an enjoyable book. Another interesting plot by Elle Adams!
Amazon synopsis: Rory Hawthorn knows her family's magical library contains an endless array of secrets. Still, even her fellow biblio-witches little expect a corridor that’s been missing for over two decades to materialize again suddenly.
They don’t expect it to put a curse upon Rory’s aunt Candace, either. With the library again at the center of a potential disaster, can Rory help her family unravel the mysteries of the lost corridor and break the curse, or will she be the next to succumb?
Candace has discovered the missing fourth floor of the library. However her discovery has resulted in her being cursed with memory loss. Unfortunately, in addition to Candace, several library patrons have also been cursed. Sylvester is in a snit about having no knowledge of the fourth floor, so Rory will have to solve this one on her own. A curse can’t physically move can it? Buy the book and find out. Another must read from Elle Adams.
I can't with this book series, honestly worst witches EVER!! I can give a pass to Rory cause she kinda new to it but how do these women ignore their instinct so much. Heck Rory is the worst cause she ignore it and let people tell her she either crazy or imagining things and never once trust her instinct on things, that gut feelin is what keeps you on your toe its something that you should always trust.
It all starts with another infestation of book wyrms in the library. Then Aunt Candace is cursed when she finds the door to missing fourth floor along with a shifter and her enemy from school who also went into the corridor. Now it is race to find a cure for the cursed before the library gets shut down.
I absolutely love this series. I'm a huge fan of all things paranormal and supernatural so this series was a huge hit for me. The only thing is now I have to wait for the next one to become available. I highly recommend this series!!
oh my bookworms in the library is not good besides being bewitched. To find out what happens with rory and the game in this story you will have to grab the book because I am not going to spoil it for you.
