Something has invaded the homeless community in Fort Collins, Colorado. Violence in the streets has escalated beyond control. Peaceful people have suddenly become angry and aggressive, harming those around them. For Kalen McDonald, the impact of this trend is personal. A local homeless man, a friend, has begun to spin out of control, and Kalen witnesses his out-of-control rage in person.
What or who is behind the drastic change in the people who have typically lived invisible, behind-the-scenes lives? As Kalen begins to explore the strange events occurring in the streets, he becomes aware of a plot. It is a much more sinister happening than he had ever anticipated. When the people behind the crime against the innocent become aware of Kalen’s involvement, they send ruthless killers after him and his family.
With Agent Mitchell at his side, Kalen must navigate the truth behind the conspiracy, and find the creator, the hidden killer, while defending himself, his wife, and his son. As Kalen knows, serial killers come in many kinds of packages, from different walks of life.
While the presence of the Radio Killer grows, Kalen will set a trap. He will fight for not only his survival but that of his precious family.
A murderer is on the loose, and the Killer of Killers is hot on his trail.
Charles Welch has been a home designer and builder, a middle school and high school teacher, education administrator, corporate learning and development professional and writer, previously publishing the spiritual book Walking Softly. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Teaching, a Master of Education in Learning and Technology, and an Educational Doctorate in eLearning.
The third book in the Killer Of Killers series. Tense, thrilling, hard to put down. Kalen, the killer of killers, is presented with yet more murders to deal with and unravel. The divide between his personal, professional, and secret lives becomes smaller, as Kalen is presented with more challenges; from the elusive radio killer, and from an unknown source that is poisoning the homeless population and causing them to become uncharacteristically violent. The novel ends in a bit of a cliff hanger, which I hope will be resolved in book 4 of this series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to reading book 4.
If you’ a fan of vigilante justice thrillers, you’re in for a wild ride with Killer of Killers 3: Injections by Charles Welch. I’ve devoured every book in this series, but this third installment truly hits different. Welch pulls no punches, plunging us into a world where morality is blurred and every decision has consequences - sometimes deadly ones. This time, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Our protagonist, the infamous Killer, finds himself entangled in a nightmarish plot: a cold, unfeeling doctor joins forces with a shadowy military figure to concoct a “war-winning potion,” and their victims are the city’s most vulnerable - homeless people. The chilling reality of these experiments is hard to swallow, and Welch’s storytelling forced me to confront uncomfortable truths about society and the way we view those on the margins. But what makes this story truly shine is the Killer’s transformation. Through his unexpected friendship with one of the homeless victims, we see a raw, human side to him - one that challenges our assumptions and stereotypes. Welch crafts his characters with compassion and complexity, reminding us that homelessness isn’t just about addiction or bad choices; every person has a story worth telling. I found myself cheering for the Killer as he seeks justice for his friend, even as he becomes a target himself. The tension builds, and you can feel the danger closing in around him. And just when I thought I had the Killer figured out, Welch throws in a curveball: a new, enigmatic adversary with an uncanny ability to see through him - literally and figuratively. The scenes between these two are electric, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. It’s a rivalry that promises even deeper intrigue in the next book, and I’m already desperate to know what happens. If you crave thrillers that don’t just entertain but make you feel - really feel - this one’s for you. Killer of Killers 3 isn’t just about revenge; it’s about empathy, redemption, and the courage to stand up for those the world has forgotten. Trust me, you won’t be able to put it down, and you might just see the world a little differently when you’re done.
Seemed like a little wonky start, but ok and went on ok. But strange things at 25% into the book, though. The guy has visions. I like following mysteries rooted in reality, but decided that since I invested this time, I'd read on for a while. Fortunately, nobody flew on a magic carpet and the psychic wrinkle was interesting to watch while a regular thriller unfolded. I had not read the previous books and am fine with moving on since I've accumulated over 1000 free books to read, some of which will be very good, so feel I have too many good ones to get to so won't be buying extras. Had intuition, visions, etc, been mentioned in the description or any reviews, I would have jumped on to something in reality therefore harder for the author to manipulate direction and outcome. This book held its own as a short but interesting read. Also, I expected a cheap wrapup at the end and was glad to not get that.
Better than the last which was a pretty big job in my opinion.Im so invested in these characters and while I knew going in that this would be more of a thriller than a horror story...I gotta say the scene with the nurse and the closet scared the bejeezus out of me.This was another good one and I definitely recommend .
Wow! I have read all 3 so far! What an interesting twist for the role of a serial killer. I have enjoyed this series and want the next one! Thanks, Diana
They are using the homeless! Experimenting on the homeless! The shots are causing anger issues! This is to be used by the military! Well he put a stop to it! Skilled you like! On to book 4!
Not a new concept of the military trying to find anything to make a super soldier. This book was fast paced and full of action. The characters continue to grow. Kalen's love of killing killers becomes more evident. Interesting series.
The main (series) theme gets pushed to the side a bit while our main character solves a mystery. The characters continue to develop and are an easy read.
I keep reading this series and love Kalen! Definitely worth reading and it’s so very hard to put down! I also listen in the car and while housecleaning. 🤷🏻♀️🫣
The homeless in our society are seen in a very bad light. While some choose to be homeless they are usually in such dire situations which is as far down as they can descend. A hell of its own where they feared those who prey on them. Anger is a natural emotion but when it becomes out of control there are serious consequences to the person exhibiting the strong emotion and those who it is directed against. Targeting the homeless seems to be felonious hobby for some: gang initiation, hatred of homeless people, having a complete disregard for them as fellow human beings. When Kalen McDonald gets pulled into a case targeting homeless. He will wish he had the power to anticipate when he and his family are targeted to be victims themselves.
