Kowloon Walled City was destroyed in 1994. In this volume of the manga (and others), we clearly see that Kujirai has a smartphone. So how do Kowloon Walled City and present day technology coexist? The easiest answer is that they can't, and the final pages of this volume not only bear that out, they also suggest that something very, very strange is going on here. Does it have to do with the book that isn't quite complete, as if someone remembered reading it but didn't remember the pages perfectly. Does the story take place in some sort of ghostly version of the vanished city, accessible only to those with unresolved business there? What does that say about Kujirai's A and B?
Something is not right. Will finding the answers bring any resolution? Or will the ghosts of Kowloon Walled City forever roam their reconstructed streets?

Is Kowloon in ruins? And when? Is it due to this earthquake only Yomei seems to have noticed? Which Yomei btw? The brunette behind the door or the blonde opening same door?
We learn more about Yomei her own pursuit of happiness in this volume. As for Reiko B’s definition of "feeling whole", it definitely includes Hajime, whose role in Reiko A’s disapperance remains to be fully explained.
Engrossing but doesn’t make sense so far? That’s Kowloon generic romance for you. Poetic, surrealist, melancholic, mysterious (suspicion of parallel dimension/time slip or maybe it’s just a dream) with characters so endearing you can’t wait what-slowly- happens next.
I’ve listened a podcast on "Mulholland drive" this afternoon and that makes me stand firm: the shadow of a playful David Lynch definitely surrounds this series.
I love how the mystery deepens how you get more backstory on some of the other characters and they get enough time to shine and it’s not just so focused on the MC I am wondering what’s gonna happen to some of the other Characters especially the ones that are from the city
That nostalgic feeling that is the trademark of this manga series is back in this volume, where our main character just seems to be coming to terms to the idea of being the B version, and we get to take a peek into some side characters' past.
Peixos espies?????? IS THIS REAL LIFE??? Ehhhhh "I was the one who killed her" ah no, que era broma????????? Frase per emmarcar: "If the sky were to cry... I'd raise my umbrella. If you were to cry... I'd be your umbrella."
Being given a gift can rob you of opportunities. That's basically the theme of this volume where we see Yaomay come into a clearer light as it's revealed she was once a famous movie star and that her mother would always give her gifts as a way to almost live on in her. Miyuki Hebinuma also has an interesting evolution in his character as he breaks off his relationship with Gwen, probably due to the power his father has over him and the life laid out for him. It feels as though the seems of the world are starting to break apart a bit more as we see Kudou beginning to pursue Kujirai (maybe) in a hilariously heartfelt chapter that consists of him singing karaoke to her. Also one of the old mahjong men condemns Hebinuma, and a book that Kujirai is reading is filled with nonsensical text, as though it were just a setpiece never meant to be read. Kowloon has also been once again revealed as decrepit and destroyed when Gwen arrives at the city on his own after the break up. I feel like the way our characters are moving forward in who they want to be is setting us up for some increased drama in the next volume.

Rare Kowloon Generic Romance W. The story actually moves forward for a bit in this volume. Chapter 42 is one of my favorite chapters in this series so far, because it delivers so much backstory in just a few pages.
Last Kowloon till like May this is heartbreaking. Once again this manga has not failed to deliver and I cannot wait to read more of it.
It’s such a great story so far with such great character arcs and messages throughout. Who knew this of all things would make me want to be a better me and a truer version of myself.
Still cik confused, por i like it shume.

Well the tone, art and characters are all great. Some excellent arcs play out here and it's an engrossing read. I'm just confused and know that I'm supposed to be. Just really hoping this sticks the landing as a modern surrealist masterpiece, it's getting kinda shaky.
Still fascinating living for an hour or two in this vaporwave walled-city fantasy world, but like with a lot of these things one comes to wonder how much the tease is a way of keeping you buying the little volumes.
Great volume! Lots of interesting things happening in here. Kujirai thinking for herself despite being pushed by her friend. We find out some fascinating info about said friend. Also the ending threw me for a loop. I don't know what's going to happen next. This manga is so fascinating.
WHOAAAAAAAA I love this series but the twists and turns of this volume have made this journey totally worth it !!!!!!!!! Great mystery, perfect ambiance, this series is nailing it!
